Absolute Soul

Absolute Soul
63. The arrival of Salvia

The arrival of Salvia instantly changed the atmosphere of the arena which was still in silence thanks to the serious situation of Cecil and Heru, now filled with cheers of the audience, especially supporters of the Salvia Group and fans of the girl.

Some were happy for the presence of Salvia who seemed to have recovered as usual and might be ready to fight, but the opposing side of the support grumbled more. That is undeniable considering Salvia is one of the strongest Blazer candidates in their generation.

Without the presence of Salvia, then the Verna Group can win more easily—although having to face the Arcless Blazer, Haikal Aldra.

On the other hand, Verna smiled a little at the condition of Salvia who now looks healthy and fit. He was a little surprised to see the opponent who thought he was still lying in the hospital bed, it turned out to even look so healthy.

"Your condition doesn't matter, Salvia?" Haikal unceremoniously asked Salvia's condition, "Are you sure you can fight normally?"

Salvia frowned at Haikal's constant questioning, "Haikal, you suggested that method of rehabilitation, why are you worried about me?"

"Well, I've never tried it, so I'm afraid there are hidden side effects that I don't know about" Haikal said, shrugging his shoulders.

Salvia giggled for a moment at Haikal's reply, "If my father finds out you're not one hundred percent sure of this method, I don't know what he'll do."

At once it also crossed Haikal's mind about a Veindal who was standing before him with his hands folded and the air gripped. His hair went down for a moment afterwards.

Haikal approached Salvia and whispered softly, "Don't let the principal know."

"Just calm down, your methods are proven to have no significant side effects. My father won't punish you or anything like that just because of this" Salvia said, calming Haikal, who was in a panic.

Haikal breathed a sigh of relief knowing Veindal was a more understanding person than he thought.

The rehabilitation method Haikal recommends itself is quite simple, which is to coat the injured organ or area with a certain amount of soul energy as a cast.

Given that soul energy has natural healing abilities even though it is not too efficient, Haikal thinks if it continues to envelop the injured area using soul energy at regular intervals then the rehabilitation process can be accelerated to several times depending on the amount of soul energy given.

In the case of Salvia, she had a Cardinal Blazer behind her who supported this method, Veindal Volksky.

As one of the so rare Cardinal-level Blazers, Veindal certainly had an amount of soul energy that was hard to match throughout Wulodhasia. Haikal then took advantage of Veindal's advantages to try this rehabilitation method on Salvia.

Naturally as a Cardinal-level Headmaster and Blazer, Veindal could not visit Salvia often due to his work so the middle-aged man lent a Soul Device capable of storing a large amount of soul energy to Haikal.

Veindal had filled that Soul Device with a large amount of his soul energy and allowed Haikal to use that soul energy as the recommended material for the new rehabilitation method.

Haikal does have a quantity of soul energy that is difficult to compare at its present level, but no matter how much soul energy Haikal has, he will not be able to apply this method of rehabilitation alone.

In the end Haikal used Veindal's soul energy and utilized his control over the above-average soul energy to form a cast throughout Salvia's injuries.

"But, I didn't expect the rehabilitation method to go smoothly" Haikal said, not believing his hypothesis was actually working.

"If you patent it, maybe you can get rich all of a sudden," Salvia teased that she wouldn't miss a golden opportunity to tease Haikal.

Haikal shook his head slowly rejecting Salvia's idea, "I propose this method not for money."

Although the Alendra family includes ordinary people who do not have a strong economy— even arguably a little below the standard—Haikal does not intend to utilize the findings that can help the crowd for their personal interests alone.

Salvia smiled for a moment in response to Haikal's reply which she had expected, "So, yes."

Silence ruled between the two for a while before the sound of deham grabbed attention. The sound turned out to be from Heru, "Have you finished talking? If you let me take you to the infirmary so I can be fully cared for."

Haikal's eyebrows lifted immediately just remembered that Heru was on the stretcher of the medics. Instead of letting Heru through, Haikal smiled cynically in response to the words of his best friend.

"full-floored? Your injury was spit once twice and will heal itself later" Haikal said, insinuating that the injury was not too severe until it had to be treated fully.

A thin purple vein was immediately visible at Heru's temple. He was slightly consumed by Haikal's insinuation, "Sorry, yes, my body is still normal not a superhuman like you."

Medics smiled wryly at the conversation, they then said goodbye so they could take Heru to the health room. As strong as the human body, if an injury is not directly handled it can cause major problems later.

After the departure of Heru and Cecil brought by medics, Haikal and Salvia stepped towards the waiting area on the edge of the arena, but their steps were stopped by the sound of Verna suddenly echoing all over the arena.

"Salvia, I challenge you in a match duel as a fellow Wizard-type Blazer candidate!" Verna exclaimed loudly while pointing at Salvia, "We determine who is the strongest Wizard-type Blazer candidate in this match!"

Verna's statement suddenly made the entire arena excited. Some questioned Verna's common sense that might forget the draw system in determining matches, some felt attracted to the fight that determined the strongest Wizard-type Blazer candidate in their generation.

"Verna, that's not how the lottery system goes," the host said slightly in disbelief at Verna's clear-sounding statement rejecting the name lottery system this time, although he was quite interested in the fight itself.

The host's words did not in fact decrease Verna's intention to fight against Salvia. The girl seemed to be indifferent to the host's comments and did not take her eyes off Salvia.

Salvia herself was slightly surprised at Verna's statement. He pensively paused for a moment before raising his voice with a dry smile, "Verna, instead of me resisting, but I've already lost to Edward as a fellow Wizard-type. I don't have the capacity to enlarge that position with you."

"It is true that you lost to Edward, but in fact Edward did not make it to the final round," Verna replied without loosening her smile still insisting on challenging Salvia, "Despite your defeat to Edward, "Despite your defeat to Edward, you're the one standing in the arena today, Salvia, not him."

Salvia's smile froze at Verna's words. It is true that based on Verna's statement, she is stronger than Edward, but Salvia feels it is not from herself.

Salvia took a deep breath and steadied the look in her eyes looking at Verna as if pushing the girl backwards, "I can stand here today thanks to the power of Haikal and Heru. If only they had lost against the Edward Group, then I wouldn't be here."

"Isn't their strength your strength, too?" Verna raised her eyebrows back at Salvia, leaving the interlocutor confused.

"You chose them, meaning your judgment and your decision to group with them was the right thing," Verna laughed with amusement at Salvia's reaction. As her laughter stopped, Verna looked at Salvia with seriousness, "Are you the only measure of strength or not of a person?"

Now it was Salvia's turn to raise her eyebrows. All this time he had indeed considered that strength was the only value in determining the strength of a Blazer, but after witnessing the willpower and hard training that Haikal and Heru had undergone over the past few weeks, he realized.

Salvia also recalled that the Awakening she managed to achieve was not just a strength that could be obtained with mere practice.

"True, true power is not just physical strength alone," the inner Salvia laughed at her own stupidity, when it should be the Awakening—they who reach Awakening— like her who best understand true power is not that simple.

Salvia took a series of breaths to finish her laughter, then looked Verna in the eyes, "Alright, I'll accept your challenge."

Author

Yo, Galih Gates here, long time no see in this story.

I don't want to talk, so get to the point. Have any of you readers not really understood the concept or explanation in Absolute Soul so far?

If anyone does not understand can ask, if the question is quite weighty because it is confused or does not understand the explanation of the World Building story this will I answer.

If the question is trivial only something that I have written in such a way and can be understood easily as "type/category Blazer" or "level Blazer" in this story then I will ignore it.

Sometimes I have trouble putting words together for this World Building story, so I'm sorry for that. If it is confusing, please ask in the comments or give criticism and suggestions, I will respond as much as possible, as long as it is comments, criticisms, and constructive suggestions, and not generalizing one story to another.

Can you tell which one is "critical" and which one is "insulting"?

Oh yes, a pinch of funfact; did you know that the main references and skeletons that make up this Absolute Soul story are neither Absolute Duo nor Tale of Failed Knight?

Curious? There are two main references I use in this story.

If anyone can answer one of them next week I immediately release 3 chapters, if anyone can answer the full 5-chapter release directly (update once a week until next month).

Hint is an anime based on games and local novels with similar themes and backgrounds but with different concepts.

Congratulations guess~
