Absolute Soul

Absolute Soul
16. Mysterious Cube

"Hahaha, eat the ruler. It has been commemorated even more so," teased Heru saw Haikal a little difficulty walking.

"Shush." The young man who was being ridiculed could not reply to the words of his best friend.

The two are currently walking down the school hallway to their classes after their sentences are completed. Different from Heru who looked relaxed, Haikal received 21 strokes of the ruler from the supervising teacher for chatting with other students right on his buttocks making it difficult for him to walk normally in some time.

Although the 21-shot sentence of the ruler sounded light and should not hurt for him, the supervising teacher used soul energy to strengthen his punch and ruler so that such a light-looking punishment was like the law of whipping for a student like him.

"By the way, do you know Verna's powers, Heru?" Haikal's question killed silence.

"No, he didn't tell me anything about his stats or his Soul Arc. Why?" Heru's eyebrows shot up a little at the question of his best friend.

"From now on don't you ever make him angry or you can be tomato porridge" Haikal said with a wry smile and then shared the information he got from Jack while on the field.

Heru's face turned deathly pale when he heard Verna's strength, then held both of her best friend's shoulders and looked into her eyes deeply, "Please don't tell her anything about our conversation on the first day of class." His expression really looked like a dead man.

"Well, if he knows for himself I am not responsible, yes," Haikal replied slightly trembling while pointing behind Heru.

At that moment Heru felt an unpleasant air, then turned to the direction Haikal pointed. Behind him he found a beautiful girl in the same uniform as him, a dark purple-haired two-pointed, as well as a bright purple eye bead.

"Ha-hai, ve-Verna," Heru stammered unable to speak normally looking at the girl.

"Hi too, baby. I was wondering, what did you talk to Haikal about on the first day of class, huh? Can I hear it with four eyes?" The girl said with a meaningful smile.

Yes, she is the Witch Queen that Jack meant before, as well as the childhood friend of Heru and Haikal, Verna Galvoria.

"Y-yeah, te-sure." Heru could only take off Haikal's shoulder and walk up to Verna who was near the wall of the hallway in a resigned state.

As Heru stepped closer to his next fate, Haikal fused his hands together in front of his chest as he muttered, "May your spirit be received at His side."

"I heard it!" Heru did not accept Haikal's ridicule.

***

After Heru's lecture and punishment were over, the three split up towards their respective classes considering Verna only went to the toilet in the middle of the hours of the ongoing lessons.

Arriving in class, the teacher who was teaching berapluhi Heru and Haikal because the whole class can see both of them are dried in the field of this class. It made both of them a little embarrassed to be laughed at in the entire class.

While enduring the embarrassment, they sat on their respective benches and watched the teacher's explanation in front, considering they had already left behind at least an hour of lessons.

Minutes by minutes passed, finally the hours of rest that awaited the students arrived. The teacher ended his explanation and left the class, followed by students who intended to go to the cafeteria.

Heru got up to his feet intending to walk to the cafeteria following the others, "Haikal, aren't you going to the cafeteria?"

"Ah, I want to find my Soul Arc. I can't come" Haikal replied with a wry smile.

"alright. Do you want me to buy you something?" Ask Heru before continuing his steps.

Looking at Heru who stepped through the classroom door, Haikal then closed his eyes and began to concentrate into his mind, then dived into his subconscious in search of his Soul Arc.

The feeling of drowning continued to hit Haikal, but somehow the feeling this time was so different from before. He did not feel drowned in the water, but his skin caught the sensation around him was air—no, rather empty or empty space.

Haikal became a little panicked feeling something he was not familiar with before. He opened his eyes and examined the surroundings, but what he saw was nothing but darkness.

"It's...."

He looked at his hands and body which could be seen clearly, but other than his body he could no longer see. This strange situation he had never felt all this time. He had never heard of a classmate or schoolmate who felt this way.

Haikal had already asked Salvia in detail about everything related to the quest for Soul Arc in the subconscious, but as far as Salvia knew the sensation of drowning was the most common thing felt by every candidate Blazer. This made Haikal confused.

Amidst the confusion Haikal decided to close his eyes and take a sitting position cross-legged between these empty spaces, then set his breath concentrating on his supposed sword-shaped Soul Arc form in his subconscious.

Actually he is not so sure that this place is his subconscious, but if it is the subconscious created by his brain unconsciously, then his Soul Arc should be obtained if he concentrated.

A few minutes later since Haikal decided to concentrate fully, for some reason his eyes were suddenly attacked by a very blinding light. Although his eyes were still closed, this light was so bright that it pierced through the eyelids and was dazzling to Haikal.

"What the fuck...." Haikal muttered spontaneously opening his eyes.

A dazzling white-purple glowing cube appeared in front of him. Not something sword-shaped or some other melee weapon, but a cube? Is this Haikal's Soul Arc?

Haikal himself pensively watched this strange cube. He did not understand, why was his Soul Arc cube-shaped instead of a sword or something? It should be a Warrior Job, but how to fight using this cube?

As he began to think things through, Haikal shook his head, "It may be the soul form-detecting crystal that misjudged my Soul Arc form." He did not want to miss this opportunity despite the mistake on the soul form detection crystal before.

Haikal also thought, maybe this is the only chance where he can get his Soul Arc. If not now, when will an opportunity like this come?

In the end he stretched out both hands trying to reach the cube with a feeling of doubt. But his hand had not touched the cube, Haikal's consciousness suddenly sucked and returned to the real world.

"What's going on?" Haikal's eyes rounded as he opened his eyes, finding himself back in the real world.

Haikal turned to check on the state of the class, but everything seemed to have not changed. It was as if time had come to a halt as he dived into his own consciousness. Haikal could only scratch his head which was not itchy in this situation of confusion.

While he was confused not knowing anything about the cube in his subconscious, his eyes found a beautiful silver-haired and purple-eyed girl standing in front of his desk staring at him. It was Salvia.

"Ha-hai, s-Salvia." Haikal smiled awkwardly as he raised his right hand trying to greet him, but Salvia showed no reaction other than to look at him. Cold sweat begins to flow down the forehead and cheeks.

Both are a concern for the class. Salvia who was one of the strongest Blazer candidates in their class, while Haikal who until now still could not awaken the Soul Arc looked at each other? They thought that there was a serious problem between the two.

A few moments after Haikal greeted him, Salvia grabbed Haikal's hand and pulled him without saying anything. His grip and strength were very strong, Haikal himself was a little surprised to realize how cold Salvia was to him today.

He could only put on a wry smile and hope that he could still return to class in one piece.
