Self Healing

Self Healing
Episode 23 is like the Earth and the Sky

The next day, I had plans to take Tyo shopping for clothes for him at the mall near my house, before spending the night at Tyo's parents' house.

"Let's go to the Mall first before going to mother's house" I told Tyo.

"What are you shopping for?" ask Tyo.

"Shirt" I replied briefly without elaborating.

We did plan to stay for 2 nights at my in-laws' house, before I followed her to an oil palm plantation in the middle of nowhere region of North Sumatra.

We went to the mall not far from my parents' house. This time, Tyo was driving, as he had obtained a SIM shortly before leaving for Medan.

Sunday afternoon is when the Mall experienced a surge of visitors, so it is certain that it will be difficult to get parking. I looked around and saw a long queue to enter the parking lot.

"Mas, the driver," I asked.

"Why?" ask Tyo.

"Parkiran must be very rame, if the female driving, usually prioritized to get parking," I explained.

We swapped positions and sure enough, shortly after entering the parking lot, a parking attendant approached.

"You want to park, Mommy?" tanyakanya.

"Yes, Mas. Isn't there?"

"There is Ma'am, follow me yes" he replied as he walked.

I followed him slowly from behind and sure enough, before long my car had been perfectly parked on the 2nd floor of the parking building.

I also took Tyo to the department store which often became my subscription to shop for clothes, then to the men's clothing place.

I picked out some t-shirts, casual shirts as well as work pants for Tyo. Tyo just followed me without protest and he tried everything I offered him.

"Not bought them?" ask Tyo.

"No, I'm paying" I replied as I headed to the cashier.

I paid for it using the angpao money from our wedding. Tyo was very obedient, but I did not realize that it was a habit that was instilled since childhood, where he was not accustomed to take the initiative to do something, but rather obeyed the wishes of his family.

After that, Tyo invited me to lunch at the food court.

"Eat first, yuk."

"What do you want to eat?" my many.

"It's a shame" replied Tyo.

Whaaat? It's supported to be my answer!

Everywhere women can give answers is up, not men!

But at that time I was quite relaxed to respond, even I was quite happy, because I could choose what I wanted.

"Thai Express," I replied as I walked towards the food court.

Arriving there, I immediately chose the menu I wanted, while Tyo looked unfamiliar with the typical food menu of the White Elephant country.

"Do you want to fry or fry? Rice or noodles?" askaku while showing the name on the menu list along with the photo.

Tyo read it again, until he finally decided.

"Oh yeah," he replied, showing a photo of tomyam.

"OK," I replied and started ordering.

"Tom yam goong 1, pad thai 1, drink iced lemon tea 2. Add papaya salad 1."

As usual, Tyo enjoyed his position as the receiver.

Ah, I remembered something, as I approached, Tyo asked about my favorite movie.

"Well what?"

"Hmmm likes to watch doramas. I also like J-Pop" I replied.

I caught his ignorance of what I meant, but he said the opposite.

"Oh, I like Japanese. I like it too" he said.

"Who do you like to watch? Who does J-Pop like?" my many.

Tyo's face seemed a little confused, but he could answer it with a standard answer.

"Hmmm not hafalin the title, the music is also not hafalin the title of the song the same who sang, but like it too," replied Tyo.

"Have you ever been to JakJapan Matsuri?" my many.

His face looked confused again.

"Hmm never, the time often clashes with the guard," he replied, which at that time I thought was natural because he was a doctor.

Before long, the food we ordered was served, and we both ate it with great pleasure.

"Eat here often?" ask Tyo.

"This is the second time, the first with Hana" I replied.

"Know much about culinary?" ask again.

"I had a restaurant management course at the Jakarta Culinary Center. Learning the basics of civil science, incidentally the principal of his school friend Junior High School, so it can be additional tips again," I replied.

Some time after graduating from college, I did take a course for 6 months at JCC, because my father had just started his restaurant business and wanted one of his children to continue this business. Qadarallah, I have a passion in the culinary field since childhood, so I took the initiative to take the course.

"Where's the exchange?" ask Tyo.

"At the Jakarta Culinary Center, in Senayan," I replied.

"No, it's pure Verdi's mas with his friend, I even get knowledge also from the chef, quite get free recipes," I replied.

Mas Verdi with his friend pioneered the restaurant business, located in a shophouse not far from where we live. The restaurant provides Western, Indonesian food and also fusion food.

Meanwhile, my father also owned a stake in a Sundanese restaurant in Bekasi.

"What's his family's business, anyway?" ask Tyo.

"House to eat, really. At least for a while, that is. Later do not know also, what to add to other fields," I replied.

"Oiya, that's the car at home, who's got it?" ask Tyo again.

"Oh that, if the Audi is the official car of the father, well if the antelope is an operational car at home. Mine is Chevrolet Aveo, mas Verdi same Mbak Hana use Daihatsu Taruna," I replied.

"Keep Ewing with Wawan?" ask Tyo again.

"Not yet given, Ewing is still in college at UI, he ngekost so no need. If Wawan is still in High School, he does not have a SIM and cannot drive as well," I explained.

Come to think of it, my family seems to be the longing of the crowd, who have the wealth that is found in the stories of novels, Korean dramas or soap operas. Where the princess who had everything was married to a man whose economy at that time was far below the economy of his family.

What an interesting story, but will my wedding story be as interesting as all the dramas? Well, we'll see.

"Where else are you going?" ask Tyo shortly after lunch.

"Home home, over time here, the shopping demon will attack," I replied as I walked quickly to the car park.

"Well, the road is so fast?" tyo protest.

"We must immediately avoid the pursuit of the shopping demon. Tuh see, we just did not see any discount writing, now suddenly the writing appears all," I said.

"There was also, Yang."

"Udah ah, hunt home. It's already pegel," I said while pretending the pain that made Tyo laugh.

"Yes, let's go home" replied Tyo.

But before going home, I took the time to buy souvenirs for my in-laws.

"Mas, you like to eat bread, don't you?" my many.

"Like, why?"

"I want to buy bread. Come on, to Kingdom Bakery," take me.

Kingdom Bakery is my favorite place to shop for bread, because the store is located not far from my parents' house, besides it tastes really delicious. Since Kingdom Bakery opened its outlets in the mall, the bread, cake and pudding variants have increased, of course this makes me happy.

I also bought some sweet bread and a packet of fresh bread.

"Well done, let's go home" I said excitedly.

The Kelapa Gading trip to Rawamangun on this weekend is quite a test of patience, because there is a long queue at almost all traffic light points, so the normal travel time is usually only about 15-20 minutes, this time we spent almost 1 hour.

Arriving at Tyo's parents' house, his mother and father immediately welcomed our arrival with happy faces.

"Assalamu'alaikum."

"Wa'alaikumsalam."

"Let's go in, lina boy," take Tyo's mother.

Actually those words were really pleasantries, because at that time we were in the living room and to my knowledge, there was no living room outside.

"Express, ma'am," I replied.

"Oiya ma'am, here's a little bread. I didn't know what kind of bread you like, so I bought almost all kinds in the store" I said, giving a box of bread.

"Eeeeh, I've bothered to bring all the bread, lina's son came, I'm happy too."

"No bother, ma'am. Just buy it, bother it if you make it yourself," I replied.

Meanwhile, I haven't seen Tyo since I entered his house.

"Nunsewu Ma'am, where did you go, how come you don't look?" my many.

"Get up the room again," Tyo's mother replied as she pointed towards the room next to the living room.

"Come on, Lina will sleep there, later" said Tyo's mother.

"Nunsewu nggih, ma'am," I said as I walked towards the room that measured 2x3 m.

I looked around, I felt like I was in my grandmother's house in the village. All the furniture looks old coupled with a mattress that still uses cotton. Without AC, there is only a fan placed on the bookshelf.

I saw there were some places on the wall pasted with the back of the calendar paper.

"That's why, how about paper?" my many.

"Oh, the walls are eroded, so there are pieces of cement stone, so yes covered using calendar paper only. There is no money for the real thing" replied Tyo.

"Whose room is this?" my many.

"Mbak Retno, but mbak Retno is not here. Now live in Bekasi, in the house of Mas Hawan," replied Tyo.

"Mas, go to the bathroom, dong," I said.

Tyo also showed the location of the bathroom located at the back. The bathroom is next to the dining room and in the kitchen. Really a narrow room to serve as a service area.

Even the kitchen in my parents' house was much larger than the room before, especially with this kitchen.

The greasy floor, plus the ceramic walls whose grout was already filled with frozen oil, made me anxious to clean it. Added with a container of oil that has blackened, makes me want to immediately throw it given its effects on health.

"This is the WC, if that is the bathroom," point Tyo at 2 adjacent doors.

It turned out that the bathroom and its WC were made separately. I opened the door too.

Exactly!! It's like the bathroom in my grandmother's house in the village, without ceramic and aluminum doors.
