Self Healing

Self Healing
Episode 44 1st Day in Hong Kong

Our first destination in Hong Kong was a city tour to travel around Hong Kong.

"Good morning, welcome to Hong Kong. Introduce me Adam Suwandi, I was your guide during my time in Hong Kong. I am originally from Surabaya and have lived in Hong Kong for 20 years. Then I started as a tour guide 5 years ago."

"Alright, this morning we will do a city tour first. We're going through high-end housing in Hong Kong, some of which are owned by famous Hong Kong celebrities."

The bus began to move around the city and then towards the uphill and winding road. Sure enough, it looks on the right-left street lined with luxurious houses neatly like a luxury villa on the top, because the housing is located in the hills on the plateau. We were amazed by the luxurious residential architecture, which looks very exclusive.

At that moment I thought, "Funny is not yes, suddenly met Jackie Chan, Andi Lau, Aaron Kwok, and I was, Samo Hung who was jogging or maybe they were relaxing on the porch of his house then waved his hand to us who were on the bus."

"What daydreaming, how about smiling yourself?" it was Tyo's shock that blew away my imagination.

"No papa" I replied. I don't want to discuss it with Tyo, because I know, he must not know and pretend to know.

Our taste is still a lot different, he's local and I'm more international. But the feet never quarrel is just a matter of taste. We both allow each other or give each other the freedom to do activities that are liked the most important thing is not to leave the responsibility.

Then the road began to decline and twist until we finally reached the location of the first stop, namely Repulse Bay beach. This beach has very clean sand and is surrounded by international standard hotel buildings, and the hills behind it. This makes it very different from the beach in Indonesia.

The air is quite cool at the beginning of this April, namely the temperature is in the range of 22°-26° C during the day, which brings cold winds so that the atmosphere on the beach is quite quiet, only a few people seem to be passing by.

"Which, the photo first," said Tyo.

"I'm alone?"

"Yes, whatever the stand where, look for a good view," continued Tyo.

I also chose the offshore scenery to be the background.

"Mas, replacements!" my door.

This time, I shot it with a view towards the hills and luxurious housing on it. Then one of the fellow doctors who also occupied the 7th floor of Awassuka Hospital and we used to call him "Bang Ardit" offered him his help.

"Here I take a picture of you two, a honeymoon with a picture of her alone."

"Thank you Bang!" sahut Tyo while handing over his pocket camera.

Bang Ardit also took photos of us both with various views. Afterwards, bang Ardit offered his help during this holiday trip.

"Later to be a photographer for you during the holidays" said Bang Ardit, handing over the camera.

"Seriously, Bang?"

"Eh yuk, already on the bus again, tuh!" bang Ardit while walking towards the bus.

Then from Repulse Bay we move to Victoria Peak, which is a mountain with a height of more than 500 meters above sea level. From there we can see the view of the island of Hong Kong from a height. A view of the concrete forest that adorns the center of Hong Kong and is surrounded by hills and mountains. What a beautiful view and much different from in Indonesia.

After taking some photos there, the group again moved to the wax statue museum from France, Madame Tussauds. Actually, I was not interested in seeing the wax sculpture collection of world celebrities who were there, but it was impossible to separate myself from the entourage including from Tyo who looked very excited. We went around the museum and Tyo asked me several times to take pictures.

After Madame Tussauds, we spent time touring the city and shopping. Shopping is indeed one of these tourist destinations for doctors and their families, but of course besides me and Tyo. We both just bought some souvenirs and a little souvenirs for the kids.

"Well, don't buy what?" ask Tyo.

"Buy what?" askaku.

"Well, what clothes, bags, shoes or whatever, I don't know."

"I don't want to, Mom. Confused about what to buy?"

"It's usually a pity, like to look around shoes, sandals or bags, just look around first, later if there is something you like, buy it," replied Tyo.

"Hmm, we're just window shopping, really I'm no longer in the mood of shopping."

"Relatedly? Later nyesel you know, do not have to think about the money, InsyaAllah is still enough. Already there, look around which one, yuk mas temenin," persuaded Tyo.

"We'll take a look, Mom. Later if there's a match, I buy ya?"

"Yes, please," Tyo replied while smiling sweetly at me.

Indeed, during my 5 years of marriage with Tyo, it can be said we almost never conflict. Tyo often spoils me by letting me do what I love, besides, he never demands anything from me, nor me, who demands nothing from him, either, because I was so grateful that Tyo was not a man who took advantage of the circumstances as I thought when we were beginning to our marriage.

Tyo is a very patient and understanding husband, he often asks what I want, because he knows that I don't like surprises and I am the type that is always planned not spontaneous.

After looking around, I still had no interest in buying anything.

"Nothing was bought?" ask Tyo.

"No, I don't think anything interesting. There will still be a shopping event at Nathan Road with Ladies Market, right?"

"Yes, you're up."

The next day, we were scheduled to visit Disneyland which is located quite far from the hotel where we stayed, which is about 30-45 minutes to reach the location. I have prepared handycams and pocket cameras to capture the moment for our two daughters.
