Ch. 118 - Sky Seal
The falling water droplets drenched the cheeks of Xue Zhan who was still asleep in his sleep, the morning blind in the Regret Precipice had come along with a storm that was quite strong shaking the tall trees. When Xue Zhan woke up, the river current down there was as swift as a flash flood.
He planned to continue the journey for a few more hours but this bad weather would probably add to the problem, learning from Xue Zhan's previous experience of not taking careless decisions anymore. He docked to the wall of the ravine, secured some things so as not to get wet by the rain water and then raised his hands to hold the rainwater and drank it.
A moment later the young man was distracted when his eyes unintentionally turned upwards, quite far up there but Xue Zhan's eyes could faintly see. A bird rose up above the sky of the Regret Gorge, thunderous thunderclaps occasionally shaking the earth, appearing an unusual veil of seals. Xue Zhan could not ignore it. That event was still going on, Xue Zhan intended to approach to be able to see more clearly what was really going on.
Come to think of it walking down there is very dangerous. Xue Zhan had no idea what kind of flat animals came out in this cold weather, so he decided to find another safer way.

Some of them fought and killed each other using claws that seemed to be harder than the warrior armor. Xue Zhan was anxious. Next he had to throw the rope to a point far enough away.
He prepared to return to do the same, taking into account the movements and catapulting the iron tip into the medium-sized tree branch on the ravine wall made of soil. There are indeed some plants that can live on these walls in extreme ways. They often landslide when rain or earthquake occurs.

It was not much further away from the location where the bird and seal in the air had been seen. Xue Zhan was lucky to find a hole in the ravine wall that was only ten meters up from where he was hanging, likely a bird's nest. He made sure it was empty and went straight in there.
Xue Zhan saw where he was before, using a journey like this he could move faster without dealing with the demons. Like when facing the snake stealth nest before, Xue Zhan had willingly gone back and forth to gather three stealth corpses in order to distract them.

The white mist above the ravine obscured the vision, this place was so cool because it was still so early in the morning. The sound of a bird's shrill echoing within the ravine, a bird flew by. His two wings sharply swooped down like swords, trying to pierce through the Sky Seal that contained him inside a gigantic prison called the Pit of Regret.
Xue Zhan's conjecture was not wrong, he had come here to confirm his conjecture and it turned out to be true. That bird was the Phoenix Bird he had met some time ago.
But what really happened to the bird? Why couldn't he leave the Gorge of Regret? Did the seal lock it away so it couldn't fly upwards?
The more Xue Zhan looked the more curious he became. Now he was standing on a dead tree that was stuck on the wall of the ravine. The phoenix tried once again to destroy the sky seal, the thunder dahysat hit the bird, he screeched and fell down the abyss. Silver feathers gleamed out, one of them was buffeted by the wind and flashed before Xue Zhan who immediately caught him.
The phoenix lay helpless by the river, its strength exhausted, it was immobile from being injured on its wings and legs.
The savage demons under the ravine wanted to take a chance when the Phoenix was weak and kill it. Xue Zhan tightly grasped the feather of the Phoenix Bird in his hand. That Phoenix had once saved Xue Zhan's life once, this time it was Xue Zhan who was going to save him.
