The Legend of the Devil

The Legend of the Devil
Ch. 167 - Split on the Road

"Where did the boy go?" Xiang Yi Bai snorted in annoyance. He paused for a moment in a tavern with Fenghuang. Xue Zhan ran very fast and disappeared among the crowd, his running was as fast as a chicken mane.

"When he's your student, just set it up you're not a bitch." Fenghuang snarled cynically, before long the servant came. Xiang Yi Bai ordered some food before replying to the girl.

"He was originally a stone head. It seems like this matter is very important to him," he explained later. The man threw a glance at the crowd. "I'm also looking for something here, the upper world is much more developed than the last time I saw it."

Because from the beginning out of the Gorge of Regret they directly overwritten a lot of problems Xiang Yi Bai to not be able to pay attention clearly to the circumstances around. Yet many changes were seen whether it was from the generation, the advancement of martial arts and other developments and it left him a little amazed.

However, it seems that the problem will never really subside. Twenty years of the era of peace did not last forever, just now, Xiang Yi Bai heard a verse that sounded odd in the ear. A little boy was singing while running in the city happily.

Everyone including Fenghuang and Xiang Yi Bai looked at the little boy to the end of the road, "Snowflowers stained with blood, Heaven swears at the Shadow of Virtue. The God of Death wraths and rises. The wind from Mount Qin brought the news of death to mankind ..."

Fenghuang frowned deeply. "What does that mean?"

He certainly understood that the verse was not a proper verse sung by a child. Xiang Yi Bai looked at the little boy even until he disappeared from sight.

"They're coming down from hell, war is going to happen again, and this time it's probably going to involve the Shadow of Virtue that's the four Emperors on the four continents."

So quickly he read the meaning of the message implied in the verse.

"The next time you go out the world is again on the edge, heh," ledek Fenghuang meaningfully. "You'll suffer the same fate if you insist on that goal. You better tell Xue Zhan well. He'll be even more upset if he finds out about this someday."

Xiang Yi Bai did not press. "You want to arrange for an old geezer like me?" He laughed wide.

Fenghuang replied in a landslide. "I'm a lot older than you are, you fucking man."

Fenghuang laughed again. As her eyes locked onto the group of Fan Yuan's entourage, the girl threw a glance at Xiang Yi Bai for a moment then said, "Tell the stupid brat, say, I have some business to do with an attached grandmother, I'll be back soon."

Xiang Yi Bai downed the wine calmly, "well go quickly. I'll tell the boy that the color chicken is missing at the market. Must have been crying all night."

"Currently, who's the colorful chicken?"

Seen Fenghuang pulling a furious fist, he bellowed away towards where Fan Yuan was. They seem to talk for a moment. Fenghuang asked for help to be able to join them on the journey back to the Feng Empire - the place that Fenghuang was currently at.

Xiang Yi Bai let out a slow breath. Look around slowly crowded, not by visitors but also endless gossip discussed. Xiang Yi Bai was sitting on a small wooden table at the very end but he could clearly hear what they were fussing about midday like this. While downing his wine he listened to the gossip from the customers. The atmosphere in the shop was hot and stuffy by the smoke and smell of the bodies of the person.

There are mentions that Kang Jian committed suicide because he felt depressed, but there are also those who say that Emperor Ziran killed him with help from the hands of others.

Xiang Yi Bai was troubled by the customer's conversation. However, he could not avoid the curiosity that appeared within him. Because he also knew what Ziran Zhao looked like. His personality is fairly gray, it is difficult to determine whether the issue is true.

Suddenly dozens of armored soldiers descended and entered the tavern with great arrogance. Without giving the customers a chance to make a move, they arrested three people who were thought to be spreading lies about Emperor Ziran and the death of Kang Jian.

Xiang Yi Bai listened to the feud between the customer and the soldier. He had never expected that the gossip made dozens of soldiers move. Xiang Yi Bai looked at the shocked and frightened customers, and in an instant, a silent atmosphere was created in the tavern.

"No one should spread false news about Emperor Ziran" the soldier said in a loud voice. He stood right next to Xiang Yi Bai's desk, the man stuffed the peas into his mouth while listening.

His chewing sound rang out to the soldier's ears, a sharp gaze drifting at Xiang Yi Bai. But once upon seeing, it was not the frightened Xiang Yi Bai. Precisely the soldier immediately shriveled and looked away quickly. Without needing him to speak, the immense power from within Xiang Yi Bai's body pressed down on him mercilessly.

The soldier then rejoined his comrades and walked out of the tavern. The atmosphere in the shop was calm,

For a moment, no one talked about the big issue. Everyone fell silent and continued their activities as usual.

Xiang Yi Bai walked out of the tavern in the afternoon. On the side of the road came the voice of a little boy singing behind him.

Xiang Yi Bai turned around and looked at the little boy. "Oi, little boy. That poem you were singing caught my attention. Where'd you hear that?" xiang Yi Bai asked.

Spooky face, slouching talk and bulging eyes. The boy directly tightened his back against the wall of fear. The little boy just kept quiet and did not answer. He ran away leaving Xiang Yi Bai who was cursing in annoyance as he flicked the sleeves of his robe.

Xiang Yi Bai shook his head. "Actually who is behind all this? Judging from his plan he had a very big goal. Damn, it should be when Master explained about the Sun Treasure that I heard it well .." lamented along the way. If this was the way Xiang Yi Bai would not be able to do his job properly.

He stared at the sword in his hand, touching the inscription carving carefully.

"I have promised you, fate has forced me to live longer to correct all the mistakes that have happened in the past. But is there a human being who can really stop this catastrophe?"

He smiled bitterly. "I don't think there is. Haha."

He talked to himself and laughed to himself.

"But if humans can't, can the demon child do it?"
