The Legend of the Devil
Ch. 193 - The Hero who Disappeared

After the city was rescued from the attack of the Black Cross Mask, the inhabitants of the harbour began to be confused about the disappearance of the Saviour - a name the inhabitants made there for the young man who had become a hero after leading against the Red Taring plot.

However Xue Zhan had already disappeared quickly and it was unknown where he had gone.

The chief soldier ordered some people to look for him. They crossed the small streets around the harbor, checking the shops and houses, but still found no trace of Xue Zhan. Their efforts were in vain because Xue Zhan had completely disappeared without leaving a trace.

The head soldier was very disappointed and sad the figure disappeared without a trace. He intended to present this victory gift as a tribute to the White Mask Swordsman who had made a great sacrifice for the city.

The loss of Xue Zhan became an unsolved mystery for the residents of the city's harbor.

The courage of the White Mask Swordsman had become a byword in the Feng Empire port highway market. Several residents gathered and talked about the extraordinary event and his determined action in defeating the Black Cross Mask alone.

"I heard he managed to finish off a hundred people at once, completely merciless!" a excited trader.

"Right, he fought as calm as water even though a thousand enemies chased him. It's amazing, "welcome to another citizen.

"This white mask breeder must have extraordinary abilities, maybe he is a student of one of the best teachers in the country" said a woman who was buying vegetables.

Everyone gathered at the market agreed that this white masked warrior was a hero who deserves a thumbs up. They hoped that his courage and heroism would bring peace and salvation to the entire Feng empire.

"I hope he will stay in this city and show himself. I'm really curious who he really is."

In a short time, the name White Mask Swordsman became a topic of conversation throughout the city. People talk about him and hope to see him again.

Even in the food stalls, people were still busy talking about the mysterious swordsman's actions. A young man sat cross-legged in front of a short table. The dishes containing the food on the table had been cold since an hour ago untouched.

The figure sat at the corner table with a serious eye forward, his mind glaring at the day he met the master swordsman.

The owner of those pitch-black eyes was Xiao Rong. His mouth did not say a word at all since morning just in response to his co-worker who was busy asking. And busy with his own mind.

A flash of a white masked figure appeared on his head, the figure was so difficult to get out of his mind from all night and made him sleep deprived.

"Actually who is he?" muttered Xiao Rong, the man next to him was stunned beyond measure, as if he had just seen a stone talking to him.

"You're asking about who? That white mask?"

Xiao Rong's eyes said yes. The man named Chen Ming cleared his throat while shaking his head. "Nobody knows about him, someone said he was one of the warriors from the Thousand Tree Mountain who had perished 20 years ago from seeing his rare and unique nurse."

Xiao Rong listened seriously, his eyes constantly looking towards the window. There was something that made his heart unsettled, an unexplainable feeling. He felt that something was amiss and it seemed that there was something that no one else knew about the white mask swordsman.

"But how can he do all that?" xiao Rong's back asked made Chen Ming astonished. It is rare to see him speak more than three words. It seems like the world is almost doomsday. Xiao Rong continued as he looked seriously at Chen Ming. "Slaying a hundred people the Black Cross Mask was not something that just any swordsman could do. There is power and ability behind it all. But when he saw his power ... He's so different. Unrecognizable. Is there something strange behind all this?"

Chen Ming nodded in agreement, "I also think the same thing. Moreover, there was a rumor that the Thousand Tree Mountain had never been inhabited by a warrior like him, but we don't know what this all means."

Xiao Rong fell silent in his daydream, his feeling growing more convinced that the white masked swordsman was not that easy to explain. He feels that something is hidden behind it all, and he has to figure out what it is. Because of the power possessed by the white mask swordsman it holds a big question mark.

There were those who called the young man their last hope in the face of the threat of evil that kept appearing in the Feng Empire. For some, the white masked swordsman is a long-awaited sign of peace and justice. Xiao Rong indeed did not read a single speck of evil intent from the young man.

But at the same time, he had sensed a violent great power from his body.

He is convinced by his premonition that something is hidden and he must find out what it is.

There was a noise from the direction of the warriors who were busy toast, they shouted, "Victory for the White Mask Swordsman!"

Xiao Rong was intending to leave with Chen Ming, but from behind there was a debate between the servant and the buyer.

The buyer did not seem to have the money to pay for his own food. He looked overwhelmed to face the man in front of him who kept cursing. Then Xiao Rong approached the two then looked at the two people in turn.

His gaze seemed to be disturbed by the commotion.

The buyer was very, very surprised and immediately lowered the bamboo caping on his head, the strands of black cloth on the edge of the caping covered part of his face. "Sorry to cause a commotion. I'll sort this out soon."

Chen Ming behind Xiao Rong interrupted, "Are you sick? Why is your voice so?"

The buyer looked down, looking like a shy person. He took out a piece of gold jewelry from his robe. "I forgot my money was left somewhere and just had this. This way the problem's over, right?" he asked, the waiter was surprised and immediately grabbed the gold jewelry greedily. Make sure that the object is original and direct sumringah.

"I'll return the change"

"I'm hustling. Just keep the change."

When the figure passed by Xiao Rong, it was as if a thin wind was greeting between the two. Xiao Rong turned around hurriedly, his eyes slightly widened, all he saw in the stall was a group of men busy gossiping.

The figure with the bamboo caping disappeared for less than a second since Xiao Rong had turned away from him.
