The Legend of the Devil

The Legend of the Devil
Ch. 24 - Those Who Remain

"Nobody had ever known that the Earth Ruler Element Stone was in this place, other than the elders and Emperor Li. However ... Somehow, the news reached the ears of the most dangerous enemy threatening the four countries. Being a serious threat that cannot be underestimated."

The candle is blown by the night wind, it's the only light that helps them see each other's faces. Occasionally, the sound of animals and the sound of tonggeret from the forest. The man poured them a warm drink, letting them drink as his mouth continued to tell him.

"I don't think this disaster will befall us, more than three hundred people have died. Children lose their mother and father. And parents lost their child ... This is the most painful suffering. I had told Emperor Li to move the heirloom," he said, cut off because his grandson came and sat on his lap.

"Not without reason, we might not be able to survive such a big enemy. And this region could be destroyed. We can risk our lives, but the stone must be saved."

Mu Rong took out an object in a small bottle that kept it well full of protection, sliding it in front of Xue Zhan, Jiazhen Yan and Kang Jian.

"This is the water we put around the Earth Ruler Element Stone."

He confirmed the position of sitting with two hands on his knees, "If exposed to a human, it may die less than an hour, hit by any object it will melt or be damaged."

"Only the smallest part is this dangerous?"

Kang Jian stared at the plant that was dripped by the clear liquid. It withered mercilessly. It is a serious problem and also very sensitive at the same time.

"Can I see it?" lontar Xue Zhan suddenly, Mu Rong nodded, "If you want you can keep it, but remember you have to be very careful. It could kill you if you're careless."

"I understand, thank you."

Xue Zhan immediately picked up the glass bottle, Jiazhen Yan whispered, "You didn't intend to poison me because I slapped him unconscious yesterday right?"

"The plan."

*

Kang Jian searched for all the information he could get, most importantly to communicate privately with the elder. Seeking guidance and preparing a plan.

Jiazhen Yan himself found out through evidence and traces of war, smelling the smell of bloodshed next to come. Not without reason. He saw the dried footprints on a muddy ground, the rain had never come since the last attack so there were still many traces left. Before coming here he saw the same footprints on the footpaths on the banks of the river.

They just backed off. Maybe I'll come back for the biggest attack.

While Xue Zhan said he was going to check the area on the outskirts of the river.

He returned to the place where he saw two suspicious people yesterday. There was no one there, waiting for a single hour nothing happened, Xue Zhan did not feel the air of anyone's existence.

That way he decided to go down, as long as the enemy was not there. His legs rested side by side, his hands touching the ground of the former enemy's soles.

Ever since long ago, Xue Zhan had always wondered why his nose was so sensitive, let alone to the smell of human blood that to him was fishy. He just thought that it was a boon given to him, with that keen sense of smell Xue Zhan had no trouble while hunting in the forest.

Now he was hunting humans, dangerous humans who could have stabbed him that very second.

That person must have killed someone with his sword, severed his pulse and let the victim bleed a lot. So that when he left his victim, the man accidentally stepped on a trace of blood.

Xue Zhan thought for a few seconds.

"This scent of blood can lead me to their original enclosure."

Without fear or hesitation Xue Zhan immediately went along with the smell of the blood, even when their footsteps disappeared Xue Zhan could still sense where the smell of blood was going.

Far enough away he walked, perhaps passing through two hours of travel to enter the hidden bamboo forest, back to Xue Zhan no longer remembered where he had come from.

His steps grew slower when he felt the air of another existence not far from him. His eyes narrowed, in the middle of the hidden bamboo forest there could still be a medium-sized house standing even complete with a koi fish pond and lotus flowers.

His skull was cold, but in that situation he had no one to help. If he were to just leave Xue Zhan would definitely lose a lot of information. It was not necessarily that he could go home without being discovered.

Arriving late, Xue Zhan sneaked into the house. He was stunned when someone with a pointed spear in hand passed, Xue Zhan docked into a pile of sacks filled with rice and tubers.

Suddenly three men spread out, only ordinary people equipped with sharp weapons, even so they remained dangerous. Xue Zhan was lucky he had gotten in before that person came out of the house.

With the three people in front of Xue Zhan unable to go anywhere, the place that only covered the roof and walls could have been visited by others. Xue Zhan had to find a way immediately.

Xue Zhan reflexively retreated from the sack whose contents had decayed. A black-colored centipede crept out. She was watching him and a man, thinking it was the only way.

"Hey, buddy. I ask a little help, may I? You're my friend, right? Then our enemy is ahead." He whispered, The centipede stopped under the sack.

"Help me."

Xue Zhan knew that he was not going to attack her quickly. He took the tail and threw it. Right in through the collar of the man in front of him. The man was just silent, not caring so much that the centipede started to make him in pain instead of playing.

She screamed as she ran to another place, her two worried friends following. Xue Zhan looked right-left, "This way I'm safe."

He picked up a few stones just in case, gazing up, the roof was probably the safest place to lurk. Without much thought he immediately climbed up a milestone, climbed up bit by bit, then managed to get on the roof.

Xue Zhan peered through the slightly open roof, five people were having a serious conversation inside a rather dim room. His gaze was locked on the same two people he had seen in the forest. He listened to the conversation. Until they finally broke up.

His eyes blushed.

The sound of broken glass instantly scattered the five people in the house. They came back to see the situation. Saw a cup fall from the table, because the room was a little darker without windows or lighting they could only ensure it was a rat that was quite a lot in this unkempt house, let alone they were adjacent to the bamboo forest.

"It's nothing. Keep doing as planned. We'll attack tomorrow. Lucky the guy told us about these three spies, this way we can instantly brush without mercy. Without a trace, so as not to be with those who are left."

The man behind the mask strangely smirked, "Spread!"
