The Legend of the Devil

The Legend of the Devil
Ch. 201 - Dongyang

After fighting the Killing Wolf and successfully defeating it, Tang Yin and Tang Yun along with the other villagers attempted to repair the village that was destroyed by the battle. They worked hard to clean up the ruins and repair the damaged buildings.

Meanwhile, the old man trusted in the village took the initiative to secure the subordinates of the Killing Wolf that they had captured. In an effort to keep the security and prevent possible backlash, old men shoved them in with strong ropes.

He listened to Tang Yin and Tang Yun's opinions and views, as well as involving other villagers who had diverse thoughts.

After taking a thorough look at the situation, they realized that there were two main options to consider. First, they could hand over the subordinates of the Killing Wolf to the authorities and let the law apply to them. Second, they can provide opportunities for these subordinates to improve themselves. Regardless of all the deeds done was the pure fault of the Killing Wolf who had now been killed. His followers were just following the man's orders.

But still there are those who are not one voice and want justice by killing them all.

After the village was successfully restored as far as possible, Tang Yin, Tang Yun, and the old man gathered to discuss the fate of the subordinates of the Wolf Killer who were shackled. They understand that the actions taken against them must be fair and in accordance with the policies they have agreed to.

Within hours of the last assault, the village began to be repaired at several ruined points. Meanwhile Xue Zhan brought the two subordinates of the Killing Wolf with him into a sealed room.

It was not without reason that he was chasing after the Killing Wolf, either, Xue Zhan had a strong suspicion that the group was leading several other groups of assassins and saw that their leader-the Killing Wolf had a similar light tattoo as the Red Taring people present in the behind his ears.

Two people sat trembling with their whole bodies tied up with ropes. They grew even more agitated when the figure with the white mask in front raised a disembodied head and placed it on the table right beside him. a pair of pale white eyes stared glaring at the two as if filled with anger, whereas the Killing Wolf had been killed several hours ago.

In the hands of the figure who was now suppressing the two with a murderous air.

"Which is more important, this head or your life?"

The heavy question came out only two seconds, yet they instantly answered without hesitation.

"Himwa!"

"Good."

Xue Zhan walked on the noisy creaking wooden floor, his footprints getting closer and closer until he stopped in front of one of the subordinate men of the Killing Wolf.

"Which is more important, your life or your allies?"

Mouths silenced.

"In times like these do you see them coming and saving you?"

They both mute.

"You're just a small part. Your life is not that important. You're afraid when you tell me about them, they'll kill you?" voice paused. "You still have a chance to escape to a remote place and start everything from scratch."

Xue Zhan gave an emphasis. "Tell me about them."

"Sir, what do you mean? Them? We are nothing but subordinates of the Killing Wolf! Our chairman is gone and we've previously told him all the information about this group-"

Xue Zhan turned the head of the Killing Wolf face back, revealing a light tattoo that even still shone when its owner had died.

"This what?"

Both of them thought of the reason loudly, cold sweat pouring out all over the body.

Never expected the young man to sniff the scent of the carcass even though they had buried it into the ground deeply.

"That's just a normal tattoo that a killer or a robber uses. Nothing special..."

"Which is more important, your life or your allies?" Xue Zhan finally went back to repeating his question and directly cornered the two.

"Think carefully about your answer. You can still survive them, but not with the enemy in front of you right now."

Instantly they creep.

Xue Zhan drew the sword, the man raised his face hurriedly with a deathly pale face.

"Tu-wait!"

They stared at each other for a moment until finally one of them made a sound.

"You're really gonna let us go?"

"I never broke my own words."

That answer made the two believe a little, "but what about us? They'll hunt us down after this."

"I will spread the word that Killer Wolves and minions were killed. You can leave freely, but remember if we make a mess I'll come to kill you."

There was silence before the answer he wanted came out.

"We have been bankrupt for the past few years, having to deal with another group of assassins and continue to be hunted by white warriors. We ended up seeking protection and reassurance, Red Taring offered it to us."

His friend cut fast, though,

"I don't quite agree with the Chairman's decision. Red Fangs were another level of evil, but he was unwilling to listen and receive the power of the First Light. But it's all gone. Rice has become porridge."

"Information and location of valuable heirlooms. The Killing Wolf had great connections in the Feng Empire and could be said to be a bookie of valuable objects."

No wonder, 100 World Miracle Treasures are very valuable heirlooms and emit mystical powers. Each heirloom has a unique power that can exert tremendous influence on anyone who masters it. Therefore, criminal groups like the Red Taring desperately want those 100 World Miracle Heirlooms for something bigger than that.

The scramble and strife to get the 100 Heirlooms of Miracle World to be the source of conflict and bloodshed involving the criminal groups. The criminal groups compete fiercely to collect the entire heirloom, the, and do not hesitate to use violence and manipulation to achieve their goals.

Seen from the faces of the two subordinates, they clearly saw the conflict that occurred when they were involved with the seizure of valuable heirlooms. The dispute resulted in bloodshed in various places around the world. Heirloom owners or groups that seek to protect heirlooms from their invasion become prime targets. Many acts of violence were committed, including attacks on headquarters, kidnappings, murders, and treason among members of the group. Some of their close friends were killed and their leader did not care, other than to attach importance to his own gains.

"They are indeed aiming for the heirloom," Xue Zhan murmured as he gripped his sword. Again the steps are getting left behind.

"How many heirlooms is he looking for?"

"I can't remember"

Xue Zhan raised the sword, the weapon's eyes instantly met the thin skin of his neck. The man rewinded his reflex face while gulping his saliva.

"Very much, my lord."

"How much?"

"I really don't know but from the information I got those things are part of the 100 World's Miracle Heirlooms."

The sword in his hand slowly descended, Xue Zhan thought long. "Is the Earth Ruler Elemental Stone also part of the 100 World Miracles?"

"It looks like it is."

Xue Zhan really knew their purpose now, it was obvious they wanted the entire heirloom. The sun heirloom was not an ordinary power, either, he needed very much other power to be resurrected and the 100 World Miracle Heirlooms were the answer.

"Something said ..."

His other friend let out a voice and was slightly restrained.

"Shhhhhh!" the man next to her told her to be quiet. Xue Zhan walked before him then said, "continue."

"Only with two Elemental Stone heirlooms could they awaken something. It is called the First Resurrection."

"How many steps are there to raise it?"

"Three if I'm not wrong"

"Enough! You're too far!" The man rebuked loudly. Xue Zhan directed his gaze towards the man. While the one who spoke again made a sound.

"You just want to survive on your own, damn it! If they reach a goal and something bad really happens, we too might die! It's free for you to survive today, in the future they use great power to finish us all off!"

That cursing cry instantly made his interlocutor speech silent as well as Xue Zhan. In a few moments Xue Zhan put the sword back into its original place and spoke. "You know where their base is?"

"New headquarters I don't know. But the old headquarters was in the northern part of Dongyang. In the underground tunnel that was along the largest river flow in the place. Just follow it, you'll meet the place."

Red Taring Headquarters in Dongyang is a place full of mystery and threats. Located in the middle of a dense forest and surrounded by waterfalls, the headquarters is strategically designed to maintain its security and confidentiality. A well-trained high-level warrior became the main guard of this headquarters, adding a level of danger for anyone who dared to approach.

When one entered the territory of the Red Taring headquarters, they would be faced with a terrain filled with cunningly designed obstacles and traps. Giant trees and towering wild plants can also be death traps, making the place difficult to enter.

There are some rumors that say that there are winding paths, filled with trap traps that can cause serious injury or even death.

"Dongyang?" The young man repeated his worry. His real goal was to visit Ying Bay and meet an information expert. Xue Zhan began to think about what step he would take next. Seeing that Red Taring had already moved this fast he intended to go straight to Dongyang before it was too late. There is indeed some information that needs to be searched for and the owner of the information may have an answer for it. He decided to go to Dongyang and was just about to visit Ying Bay.

After severing it Xue Zhan seemed to be in a hurry to go there, his movements came to a halt when a slightly pressing back sounded that came from the man who had been opposing him since.

"Be careful, the old headquarters is still inhabited by a number of Red Taring members, they are still operating there. Next time I hear from you, I hope it's not the news of death."

It was not without reason that he was warning her head-on, the presence of a high-level swordsman who became the headquarters guard made the situation even more dangerous. They are warriors who are highly trained in martial arts and possess exceptional skill in combat. Their speed, precision, and strength make them formidable and deadly enemies. Despite the old headquarters, every corner of the headquarters was heavily guarded by these warriors, ready to cripple anyone attempting to enter or threaten the security of the headquarters.

Both of them were shocked because Xue Zhan took out a sword and slashed at them quickly. The two of them nailed while holding their breath, slowly seeing the straps detach from their bodies.

They can hardly believe it is actually released. All along the two could not believe that there was still someone like Xue Zhan, especially after all these years of living in an environment filled with lies and betrayals.

"I've had enough of your information, the rest I'll handle myself."

Xue Zhan stared at them firmly, the freedom he gave was not an unconditional gift. He warned them never to violate the trust that had been given. And he would not hesitate to face them if they broke this agreement.

"Run your lives well" Xue Zhan said in a firm voice. "Go away from here with your people and never show yourself again."

The Slaying Wolf subordinates fell silent for a moment, they glanced at each other, looking at Xue Zhan's face to look for any signs of lies, while being wary of them being again startled by the swift slash like before, but nothing was found.

There was the sound of both of them before Xue Zhan left the place.

"Thank you for your generosity, sir."
