The drops of water fell one by one onto his face, so cold and increasingly heavy every second that it turned into heavy rain and rumbling sounds.
Xue Zhan woke up in fine state, it made him frown a little but without thinking his footsteps advanced down a hallway so familiar. The path he had always walked for years and led him to a warm house that accepted him as he was.
Xue Zhan was running fast, he knew all of that had passed the person who gave him the house was gone. But for just a moment, even though it was only in a dream that Xue Zhan wanted to meet that person again.
He opened the door with a breath of ngosan, eyes swept all over the part without exception but never found the person he was looking for, his shoulders were all shrouded in disappointment. Until finally there was a commotion behind him and when he turned his head Xue Zhan did not believe what he saw at that time.
His sister Lin Yu Mei stabbed a sword into his Grandfather's body from behind and cheered happily.
Those red eyes glared. The emotion when you first see it still remains the same and never decreases. He was so angry at Lin Yu Mei, Xue Zhan half ran towards the little girl and cursing.
"You killed him in front of my eyes!"
The same remark was uttered, Xue Zhan was like he was repeating all those events in his absence of control. And that crumbling and hoarse voice was also crying in the same way,
"Don't go, Brother Zhan! I don't want to be alone! Please!!"
Xue Zhan was fixated, not wanting to leave, not wanting to repeat what had happened in the past.
After all Xue Zhan was so fond of Lin Yu Mei, when she was soundly asleep Xue Zhan always prayed for the happiness of her sister. The young man crouched down in front of Lin Yu Mei who was staring at the nanar while sobbing.
"I'm not leaving, Mei'er. You're the only one I have. I'll never leave you ..."
He hugged the little girl tightly while smiling.
"I love you more than anything."
"Sir ..."
Lin Yu Mei was suddenly pulled from her embrace making Xue Zhan startled, instantly dozens of cross-masked humans in the surroundings turned into human-shaped flames. Xue Zhan started to feel an unnatural heat, he grabbed Lin Yu Mei's hand but someone first won her little sister's heart.
Behind Lin Yu Mei's body, Xue Zhan saw a flame that formed the form of a woman smiling so widely as she hugged her sister from behind.
Then in a blink of an eye the fire obliterated his sister.
"Mei'er don't go ..." the stool grabbed Lin Yu Mei's figure that turned to dust.
He disappeared leaving destruction in Xue Zhan's heart that could not be contained anymore.
" ... Lin Yu Mei!!"
*
Such a huge roar made him wake up from a nightmare.
Not just this once the dream came and continued to haunt him, Kang Jian said that he was just missing his sister.
Those eyes opened slowly and then there was a sigh of pain from his mouth like he had just woken up after being hit with a giant godam. His bones may have broken after the last attack that occurred between him and the mysterious girl.
A moment later Xue Zhan was just quietly sitting under the torrent of rain while his head started raging violently.
There was a pain in his heart that he could not describe. What was certain was that Xue Zhan could not be too drawn out in his grief and began to recall what had happened before he was unconscious.
The shadow of a flash that so quickly hit him that it bounced on the wood rubble flashed, still imagined the pain until that second.
"Wouldn't that girl kill me yesterday? But I'm still alive, then where did he go?"
But if the girl re-appeared Xue Zhan wasn't sure she could deal with him unharmed, winning alone was hard to avoid that one full-power attack.
It opened his mind that many young warriors who were much stronger than him, Xue Zhan clenched his hands so tightly, there was a sense of inadmissibility for his defeat but there was nothing he could do, when facing the girl he could barely do anything about it. He was extremely strong and could not be matched with the current strength of Xue Zhan.
There was a kind of special power he felt while fighting the girl, a 'grace' in the form of strength that made him so strong.
Xue Zhan put away some of the wood debris that had hit his body, coughed out blood and managed to save himself a few minutes later.
His gaze was blurry, his eyelids were filled with blood flowing through his forehead, as he was transfixed to see a single scroll and white directions. He told her to look at the wall of the house.
A random writing was written in blood and from his curves Xue Zhan was able to deduce that the person was being hit by a great rage. The writing reads,
'THE NEXT TIME I'LL KILL YOU'.
The instant Xue Zhan drew a faint smile, it meant that he would meet back to fight with the girl and avenge his defeat.
"Whoever you are, I will remember you and my defeat today. Until that time comes I will definitely defeat you and reclaim my brother's sword."
Xue Zhan glanced at the scroll and left it just like that without intending to pick it up.
He lost, not the right to receive the scroll. Despite having to fight desperately Xue Zhan would search for the scroll with his own efforts.
His stomach started to rumble, Xue Zhan has not found a single piece of edible food since yesterday. As the committee said, the participants were not provided with anything and were left to survive for three days without assistance. This was much more difficult to pass when Xue Zhan realized that this city had been abandoned decades - more or less and there was barely any leftover food available.
His shaky steps led him to a river with fairly clean water, he put it in his hands and drank it. Letting cold water wet his empty stomach. For a moment Xue Zhan was able to see another girl from a distance, so familiar with her shady eyes and graceful manner. That girl was Yin Jiao. He was alone there and some wounds were visible on his hands.
Xue Zhan approached, the girl took out a sword and pointed at his face. Both were surprised.
Xue Zhan raised his hand in surrender. "I didn't mean to attack, it's just that I was quite relieved to see another human being in this town."
The girl looked nervous, she lowered her head, "I also saw someone else for the first time while in this place. I-I'll go first!"
As fast as lightning the girl went from before him. Xue Zhan scratched the back of his non-itchy head while grumbling.
"Was my face so terrible that she was filled with fear? Aish, just make me worry."
His steps were stifled to find a blue bracelet decorated with tapestries just splashed on the stone. The price could go up very high.
Xue Zhan couldn't let her be abandoned by her owner just like that yet Yin Jiao had left. He pocketed it and intended to return it if they would meet again later.
"It turns out Miss Yin was a careless girl as well."
