The Legend of the Devil

The Legend of the Devil
Ch. 222 - Return of the Pure Fire Owner

Suddenly there was a roaring sound in the sky. The sun is blocked by clouds. In the middle of that cloud, a light so bright that exceeded the sun suddenly appeared from within.

A fierce burst of light power shot upwards through the layers of the sky. The light pierced through the clouds, splitting them with unimaginable force.

A few seconds after like lightning flashed, Ming Dao shot forward at an incredible speed. He made use of the power of light he possessed to surround his opponent with lightning fast attacks. In an instant his attacks overran the fox mask swordsman with unstoppable force.

However, the fox mask swordsman was deftly able to dodge some of those attacks throwing sharp counterattacks.

The swords of the two collided violently, producing metal clangs that filled the air. The voice echoed on the battlefield, the strength of the two competing against each other. Ming Dao drew his sword, they fought each other and attacked. Every enemy's movement was responded quickly without any gaps.

Those sword attacks collided with each other with a force that shook the surface of the sand. The clangs of their swords produced sparks in the air.

As the two of them re-defended with the colliding swords, Ming Dao suddenly opened his palm right in front of the face of the fox mask and from his hand came out a force of light that shot fiercely into the opponent's body.

In an instant from the Ming Dao palm emanated a power of light that was so powerful it radiated at high speed. The light it emitted directly hit onto the opponent's body with a mighty force.

The fox mask swordsman was shocked and struck by this sudden attack. His body was thrown backwards, heavily impacted by that powerful light attack. Ming Dao did not waste his time in silence and directly drew the sword to end the fight.

However when Ming Dao launched his final attack with the power of light, the fox mask swordsman dodged and quickly retaliated with a smoldering fire attack making his hand burn and pushed back.

He launched successive attacks, using his pure fire ability to create weapons-like fire arrows that rained down on the Ming Dao. Each of those attacks produced a blast of heat and brought about an almost inevitable misfortune for the Ming Dao.

Ming Dao tried with all his might to counter the attack. He used the remaining power of light to form a protective shield, trying to reduce the impact of the fire attack. However, the flames continued to attack him, pushing him further and further cornered.

The blazing fire attacks continued to hit him, causing Ming Dao to continue retreating and getting more and more desperate.

The fox mask swordsman was able to control the battlefield with the pure fire power he possessed. Such strength made him possess a significant advantage and squeezed the Ming Dao into a difficult corner to escape.

In his last attempt to break away from the attack of the fox mask swordsman, Ming Dao concentrated all of his energy and jumped backwards. However, that fire attack continued to chase after him and hit him with a terrifying force.

Despite successfully dodging a few attacks, Ming Dao could not dodge the last attack of the fox mask swordsman that caused serious injuries. He felt a piercing pain and lost strength in this deadly attack. Ming Dao fell to the ground, gasping for air, and faced an almost inevitable defeat.

In the continuing fight, Ming Dao made use of the time he had to recuperate. He gathered the rest of his strength and summoned a deep light energy, emitting it from his body.

The fox mask was shocked to see the uncontrollable power of light encircling the Ming Dao. He realized that the fight would not be easy, even harder than before.

"Only you can push me down like this. If this was my last fight, I wouldn't let you win so easily" he exasperated. The two warriors faced each other with a Ming Dao that was much stronger than before.

They measured each other, waiting for the right moment to launch an attack. Their two swords met in tense seconds.

The punches and kicks alternate with each other, with awesome power and speed. Ming Dao combined his sword skills with the power of light, creating a deadly and difficult attack to avoid. The fox mask replied with the pure fire power it possessed, creating a burning and intense fight.

Flames emerged from their attacks, blazing and smoldering with a dazzling intensity. Each colliding attack created a burst of flames that encompassed the battlefield.

Light dust floated in the air, creating a beautiful and dazzling tinge of color. The dust came from the light energy released by the Ming Dao and the pure fire power possessed by the fox mask.

Fast and dazzling flashes of light accompanied their every move and attack.

Ming Dao fought earnestly this time by exerting all of his strength. Meanwhile on the other hand his opponent looked unwilling to let Ming Dao get even the slightest chance to surpass.

That Pure Fire Sword Technique was one of the sword techniques in Diqiu Empire that many people had recognized and admired. It was no wonder that the current Xue Zhan was amazed to see the technique that had been well honed from Jiazhen Yan.

He had no idea during this time Jiazhen Yan had studied with whom after leaving the Diqiu Empire. Of all the things he had forgotten, his best friend still remembered all the movements passed down by his father, Jiazhen Wu.

A deadly sharp bend in the shape of a roundabout of fire surrounded Ming Dao, Xue Zhan who noticed the course of the fierce fight between the two could not even keep up with Jiazhen Yan's speed that exceeded lightning speed.

The man with the white mask was stunned, the reflection of the flame rays was clearly visible in his eyes before the deadly manner of the Jiazhen clan hitting him was stifling.

"What does your master actually think? We've come this far and he's betrayed?" there was a slightly suppressed upset voice. Ming Dao held onto his chest in pain. Watching the sword-owning young man with flames blazing in front of him.

"I just take orders."

"You forgot that day me, you and your master were talking like old friends. How easily do we become enemies? Your master's head didn't hit a big rock? Or maybe you're the one who mis-captured his orders." He turned his head towards Xue Zhan

"The man also has a White Mask. He may be the enemy you're looking for."

Jiazhen Yan shook his head as if unaffected by Ming Dao's words. Not long ago he heard a rebuttal from her.

"I don't see him having a mask. But he's gonna die too. Even if I'm wrong to carry out our orders, we've only lost one light."

"You dickhead. Fuck your Master. I'll make sure you're all destroyed, the Red Fingers will take you all to the roots." The sharp lightning in his eyes turned ferocious. There was no more grin or laughter on his face while fighting with Xue Zhan.

He gasped a little when a thin wind arrived before him and someone easily stood in front of Ming Dao.

That dense and sharp Eve was already inhumane to Ming Dao, he muttered. "How many lives have you killed?"

In an almost squashed state, Ming Dao stared intently at the fox mask swordsman standing before him, who was dubbed the Sky Law Substitute. The mysterious shadow had become a story and rumor that spread throughout the martial world.

Rumors about the Sky Law Substitute had crossed the hills and valleys, becoming the topic of conversation among the fearful and surprised warriors. The strength and cruelty it possessed became a frightening story and made the rulers of darkness tremble. The college that dared to fight against him had been destroyed and its students were no exception. The sprawled bodies became a testament to the brutality and strength possessed by the Sky Law Substitute.

Horrible cases accompanied his trail along his journey. It was rumored that he had slaughtered dozens of colleges, wiping them out one by one mercilessly. Blood flowed like a river in his footsteps, and his innocent life had been coldly uprooted by his deadly sword.

The people were terrified of his presence. Those who lived in the shadows of the Heaven's Path Substitute felt a threat and were inescapable.

Care and vigilance become a must for anyone who is the next target of the figure. No place was safe or protected from the cruelty and destruction he brought.

despite being aware of the terrifying reputation of the Sky Law Substitute, he would still face the greatest threat that lay before him, regardless of any cases of cruelty and slaughter related to the Sky Law Substitute.

Ming Dao knew that this time was an unavoidable fight. He prepared himself to fight against such a feared enemy. His decision was already unanimous, and he would not take a single step back in the face of the man, even if the terrible news and stories of his cruelty had been exposed.

A round of white lightning was visible as the sword eyes that were eyeing Ming Dao's head moved. The man leaped spinning backwards avoiding Jiazhen Yan who constantly cornered him. The attack from the young man was as if he had no stopping, he had no chance to just take a breath or break away.

Ming Dao admitted, he does indeed have more power than that young man, it is also because the 'grace' given by the First Light to the Sixth Light included him that made him stronger than ordinary humans.

Within the group led by a mysterious chairman, a specially selected group of individuals had been bestowed with extraordinary powers. This gift was the power of light that made them have the power equivalent to the power of the sky itself.

The strength possessed by the members of this group could be said to be beyond the reasonable limit. They were able to split mountains with a single blow, smashing the ocean with ease, and creating a fierce chaos by simply moving their hands. Their strength was not only limited to the physical, but it also encompassed uncontrollable elements and energies.

One of the hallmarks of the members of this group is the shining white tattoo. Each member has a perfectly sculpted white tattoo on some part of their body.

These tattoos emitted a holy light, becoming a sign of their identity as the possessors of the power of the heavens. The tattoo is the epitome of their devotion to the core group and their leader.

However, this power came with very serious consequences. There is an unbreakable covenant for those who have received this gift. They should remain in the group and should not leave it. If anyone breaks this agreement, the consequences are dire.

They would lose their six senses, the power they gained, and in the end, they would suffer a tragic death.

The mysterious chairman maintains the integrity and loyalty of the group members so that the secrecy of the main group remains safe. These conditions are put in place to protect the secrets and powers they possess. Through sacrifice and loyalty, the members of the group become a strong and unwavering part.

This was the reason why the members of this group cooperated so closely. They complement each other and support each other, knowing that their strengths and fates are tied together. In their battles and journeys, they depended on the sky strength they possessed and the loyalty instilled by their chief.

It was just that despite having the power of grace, from the very beginning this opponent already had all the aspects that the swordsman had and each side was superior. His way of fighting, his instincts, movements, techniques, strength and inner strength.

That young man was a human who had killed hundreds of thousands of humans, seeing that he was still alive should have been a shocking thing. Many people were aiming for his head but none of them managed to defeat him. And that already explained why Ming Dao was overwhelmed by the fire monster.

With an agile hand movement, the enemy created a huge burst of flames that appeared right in front of Ming Dao.

Ming Dao prepared himself and protected himself with the light shield he created. The shield was able to block most of the attacks, but the intense pressure and force of the flame burst shook the shield. Ming Dao tried to defend with all his might, facing the attacks that kept coming.

The atmosphere became tense, bound up in the tension created by the onslaught and the defense that was chasing. The two sides faced each other fiercely, looking for the opponent's loopholes and weaknesses. Amidst the chaos, Ming Dao struggled to defend himself and looked for opportunities to fight back.

Ming Dao tried to use each of his skills and make the best use of the remaining light shield, trying to compensate for the strength and attacks of the fox mask swordsman. Momentum rolled from one attack to the next.

In an instant, Ming Dao managed to widen the distance between himself and the attack of the fox mask swordsman's follow-up. He quickly took a step back while gathering the energy within him. A bright light emanated from his palm, spinning and chime into ten balls of light that surrounded him, forming a circle that was the size of his body.

In an instant, the atmosphere around them changed. The sand in the Desert is surging due to the strong wind. The skyline flushed with the sunset.

Ming Dao stepped forward steadily, the balls of light surrounding him spinning ever faster. In a beautiful gesture, he released the light balls one by one, towards the fox mask swordsman. Explosions rang out breaking the silence of the desert, the sand being blown away and lifted up in the air by the fierce blasting force.

The fox mask swordsman was aware of the attack. He tried to dodge and protect himself, but the burst of light balls followed him mercilessly. A dazzling light filled the sky, creating a sharp shadow amidst the swirling sand and wind.

Ming Dao took advantage of this chaos. Quickly, he slid forward, swinging his sword.

His attacks were sharp, directing every movement with the aim of taking out the fox mask swordsman.

The sand flew with the wind currents along with the fire that continued to smolder, and the explosion of the ball of light continued to tremble the earth.

Amidst the chaos, the fox mask swordsman tried to survive. However, the pressure from the continuous attacks and the deadly counterattacks made him even more desperate. His opponent did not want to let him advance a little.

Ming Dao seeing the opportunity, he launched an ultimate attack aimed directly at the weak point of the fox mask swordsman.

In an instant, the attack hit the target. The body of the fox mask swordsman slammed into the back, stranded in the hot sands of the desert.

But when the man realized it turned out he only hit the handle of the swordsman. He swore repeatedly, his opponent did not get any significant injuries.
