The Legend of the Devil

The Legend of the Devil
Ch. 212 - The Disappearance of Ice Stones

The night passes late, in a few hours the sun will rise. Qi Zhang's residence was calm as usual, a dim light from outside started to enter through the window grille.

The two of them sat at a wooden table in the middle of the room filled with piles of scroll paper with files.

Xue Zhan looked towards Qi Zhang gratefully. "Thank you for all the help, Qi Zhang," he said in a low tone. "You gave me more information than I asked for, I really appreciate that."

Qi Zhang smiled warmly. "I also appreciate your efforts and hope that you don't meet a deadlock like me, Xue Zhan. May you succeed in achieving your goals and finding what you seek."

Finally, Xue Zhan got up from his seat. He reached out his hand towards Qi Zhang. "See you later."

Qi Zhang greeted the helping hand warmly. "See you, Xue Zhan. Don't hesitate to contact me if you need help in the future. I'll always be ready to help."

He paused his sentence three seconds before delivering his final message,

"And if you're looking for the Red Taring, go follow the people with the black hood."

Xue Zhan nodded and left the man's residence, walking down the deserted road by the harbor, looking at the silence of the early morning atmosphere with a chaotic mind.

Between being happy about the news about Kang Jian and being disappointed over what Jiazhen Yan did. He chose to sit on the edge of the harbor while contemplating. Thinking of his conversation with Qi Zhang, he could not linger in the man's house for fear of him presenting suspicion. There's no guarantee he's not spied on.

Xue Zhan let out a heavy sigh.

Qi Zhang only gave a warning to avoid people with black hoods, just like the message Miss Wen delivered. It was just that he did not know where those people with red hoods were.

The morning as the scorching sun started to burn, Xue Zhan decided to continue his journey alone back to Diqiu Empire.

But his step was stifled for a moment when he saw the crowd telling stories on the side of the road, dozens of people gathered to hear the man standing in front.

In the bustling port of the ship, an atmosphere of uproar and unease swept through the community.

"Ice stones have been stolen! The Earth Ruler Elemental Stone had been in the hands of the Red Taring! This was a disaster, the Bing Empire was massacred all out and all four Empires would be destroyed!"

The fishermen and sailors rushed from there to here, talking to each other with concern after getting information from the city. Low boisterous sounds filled the air, creating a tense atmosphere. Some people tell the story of the legendary power possessed by the Ice Stone, while others discuss the possible consequences of its loss which is now falling into the wrong hands.

The news of the Red Fangs attack to the Bing Empire spread quickly, bringing a wave of panic and anxiety that engulfed the entire region of the empire.

The event foreshadowed the start of a period of destruction and large-scale war that threatened the survival of the four Empires.

The attack not only caused widespread destruction, but also threatened the life of the Emperor who was respected by his people. The emperor was a symbol of imperial strength and unity, and the threat to his life shook the foundations of the stability and trust of the people.

The once prosperous and harmonious territory of the Bing Empire was now mired in chaos and uncertainty. The inhabitants lived in fear and anxiety of the ensuing attacks, while the Bing Empire's forces fought desperately to protect their territory from the invasion of the Red Taring.

It said the war cost many lives and damaged critical infrastructure. The once bustling villages and towns are now burning and crumbling ruins. The best warriors of the Bing Empire fought their hardest to resist the Red Taring attack, but the fierce and cunning strength of the enemy made it difficult for them to defend their territory. The enemy has a unique ability called dimensional space displacement. An absolute power that can destroy easily.

This event became a turning point in the history of the Bing Empire. Their strength and reputation were tested in this unexpected war, while the Emperor's life remained dependent on the success of the soldiers and warriors in the face of the Red Taring.

In the face of the Red Taring attack that threatened the Emperor's life and the destruction of the empire, the Emperor and the ministers had to take tactical measures to fight the Red Taring.

However, the battle against the Red Taring was not easy. Courage and sacrifice were needed to fight this evil force and defend the empire. The fate of the Bing Empire depended on how they were able to overcome the Red Taring attacks and guard the life of the highly respected Emperor.

Meanwhile the atmosphere in the port of Feng Empire grew even more violent.

"How's this? What are those useless warriors doing?! Where are the Emperor and the officials all?!"

The inhabitants swarmed the sailors who brought news. Around the port, rows of ships were lined up on the docks and were still delaying departure that morning.

"They're just foot barges on the throne, this kind of thing just keep your ears shut!" welcome the other emotions.

That final cry made everyone hold their breath in fear, looking at each other with endless anxiety.

As news of the possible outbreak of war in the Empire spread, fear and anxiety swept through the entire populace. They vividly remembered how previous wars had destroyed much of the empire, leaving deep wounds and irreplaceable losses.

The citizens, especially those who had experienced the immediate suffering of the war before, felt a heavy burden on their shoulders. They had seen how their villages were destroyed, their loved ones lost their lives, and their lives turned into chaos. The memory of suffering made them feel afraid and reluctant to face the threat of war once again.

However, amid that fear, there are also citizens who realize that fear must be overcome by action, and they are trying to prepare themselves for the possibility of war to come.

Most feel hopeless and hopeless when they find out that war is coming. They are overwhelmed by the feeling that they cannot change their fate and that a return to the dark times of war is inevitable. This sense of hopelessness enveloped their minds and hearts, diminishing the spirit and motivation to endure. In fact many of them abandoned the work that morning after hearing the rumors.

They voiced their desire to avoid a destructive war and called for negotiations to be conducted to reach a mutually beneficial agreement for all parties. Especially to the Red Fingers even though it sounded impossible.

Is it possible to give up the Earth Ruler Elementary Stone that war can be avoided? Some people think so but many are against them to give up the inheritance of the sky because they know that another destruction will occur.

Xue Zhan flinched, his shadow returning to the white cross mask girl he had met back then.

"Don't tell me when I met him he just got the stone?"

Xue Zhan turned his attention to the side, seeing the large number of people swarming around, fear was spreading all over. The issue had shocked Feng Empire, then what about Diqiu Empire?

Xue Zhan was silent.

"Only two stones can they raise a quarter of the power of the sun's inheritance ..." He growled in annoyance. "It can't be allowed to."

His steps accelerated further through the crowd that crowded the road, Some people jolted backwards seeing him pass haphazardly.

Xue Zhan stared straight ahead, chaos growing more and more real in front of him. No matter how fast Xue Zhan chased after their steps it was always just that the Red Fangs were moving faster.

"If so they will definitely be eyeing one of the other three stones. Is the teacher okay?" Say it in the heart. Remembering the last time the Ghost Blower attacked. Xiang Yi Bai might just become the target, it would happen if his identity was exposed.

Behind the crowd of Xue Zhan residents continued to barge forward, leaving behind the crowd in a hurry. It made the smile of a figure with a black robe expand wide with satisfaction.

"You look so panicked, hm?" From the rooftop of the male pavilion building stalked his target, a pair of sharp and hateful eyes emitted a fierce gleam as he stalked Xue Zhan amidst the crowd below. The low boisterous sounds of the crowd below sounded faintly, the mysterious figure lurking there, hidden in the shadows, without any one noticing its presence.

The man continued to watch closely. He watched over Xue Zhan's every move, those sharp eyes never escaping the young man's figure in the crowd.

There was a short, cynical laugh.

"Unfortunately your time is not long, little devil. Your teacher, your friends, the people you love ... I will destroy everything without exception."

Xue Zhan furrowed his brows and turned his body abruptly, a bad feeling scouting him and making him annoyed within a few moments. But when he turned around there was no one suspicious there. He tried to shake off that bad premonition and continued on his way as quickly as possible to find Xiang Yi Bai.

The swift flow of the river echoes in the ravine, a great force rippling violently within the place that has been surrounded by thousands of warriors with black cross masks. There were two beautiful women there faced with a white-robed figure who was cornered back by the circumstances.

"Here you turn out, Holy Sword Batara. My friend didn't come back after picking you up. Looks like he died first. I won't let you get out alive" said the woman, Ghost Rose Thorn. He had indeed guessed what would happen to the Ghost Sculptor, but what made him distrustful was that none of the 200 people who had descended to the Gorge of Regret had survived.

Then the figure with the White Cross Mask smiled obliquely.

"Your great name has been smeared, you are a coward and a sinner in the eyes of all but still trying to protect the stone for reasons of virtue. Haha." A mocking laughter echoed from her mouth, the woman was one of the Six Red Fanged Light.

"Whatever you are, you won't be able to face thousands of enemies at once."
