Ch. 183 - Unresolved Revenge

The woman emerged from behind the bamboo that was destroyed by Xiang Yi Bai's previous slash. She was wearing a purple robe and matching colored eyeballs, looking beautiful yet terrifying. His wiggly fingernails slowly touched the red bamboos that covered it.

With a shrill voice, the woman began to speak. "I have been waiting for your arrival for twenty years, Yi Bai. I knew you'd live to finish this."

The previously calm Xiang Yi Bai had now changed. He knew that he had to be careful about this woman. Because his opponent was now no longer a warrior of the anchovy class or a Purple Centipede. After reading the situation around her Hua Lian finally made a sound.

"He's Yue Linghe?" hua Lian asked who was standing beside Xue Zhan in disbelief. "Why does he look so young? And he called your teacher Yi Bai. It's like I heard that name in a book ...."

If Yue Linghe knew that man of course the two had met before, the woman said the two had fought each other and now was the determination.

Xue Zhan replied as he held the pain on his shoulder, "She probably used the same kind of technique as Master to always look youthful, I'm sure she's nothing but a girl-faced dapper grandmother. You better be careful with him."

"Is your teacher okay to fight alone?" He shuddered sinisterly when he saw Yue Linghe.

"She's a lot more cruel than a little grandma."

Hua Lian was astonished by that answer and had thought her hearing was interrupted by the strong wind coming from where Yue Linghe was.

Yue Linghe stared intensely at Xiang Yi Bai, "You think you can defeat me just by capitalizing on that old sword? You're wrong, Yi Bai."

Xiang Yi Bai raised his sword and prepared to fight. "I'm more worried that you're losing out with just bare hands, snake woman."

Yue Linghe let out a shrill laugh, "You will regret having said that, Yi Bai."

Leaves fell from the sky as Xiang Yi Bai and Yue Linghe let out a mighty force from within their bodies. A strong wind blew and blew away everything around him. A series of golden and purple light emanated from their bodies accompanied by an uncontrollable great force.

The power that came out of Xiang Yi Bai and Yue Linghe's body was so great and capable of destroying everything around him. Even the ground beneath their feet was split open, creating deep abysses. Hua Lian and Xue Zhan looked in horror, this was a level of strength that was far above that of ordinary humans and they had never seen in a lifetime.

The battle between Xiang Yi Bai and Yue Linghe began, both of them running towards their respective opponents. The lacing of their swords broke through the air, creating a loud twang that resounded around the forest. As their swords met, sparks were seen emitting from the blade of the sword, the wind splitting the huge trees and stones around them.

Xiang Yi Bai used quick movements with endless sword attacks. Yet Yue Linghe easily dodged and countered every attack of Xiang Yi Bai with an equally great speed. All around them, the trees continued to collapse and crashed into the ground.

Every time their swords met each other, energy throws filled the air and caused destruction around them. In an instant nearly a quarter of the Yellow Bamboo Forest area had been destroyed, large trees rolled over, and large stones shattered into small fragments.

"So this is what happens when two of the greatest warriors fight ... Absolutely awesome," Xue Zhan murmured involuntarily. Not just Hua Lian, she seemed to have just this time seen her Master actually fight.

The two camps continued to fight nonstop, their swords clashing against each other and spitting out powerful bursts of energy, making the ground shake and the sky rumble.

In one sudden attack Xiang Yi Bai managed to pull out a hard kick that made Yue Linghe crash far back. Yue Linghe angrily got up, looked at Xiang Yi Bai with eyes filled with anger and said, "You've ruined my happiness, you think you can live peacefully after that!?"

"You cry almost like a man crying for his misfortune."

"Bastardly men!"

Xiang Yi Bai and Yue Linghe attacked each other with even greater force, the devastating power from each of their attacks made the Yellow Bamboo Forest shatter into pieces. Xiang Yi Bai lunged forward with his sword attack that split through the air. He twisted his body and attacked quickly, making Yue Linghe trouble dodging it. He could barely dodge the attack, unexpectedly Yue Linghe was even able to unleash a counterattack in a desperate situation with a hand movement that was so fast the back of Xiang Yi Bai's body.

Not long after, Yue Linghe unleashed a streak of fist attacks that were so fast and deadly. Xiang Yi Bai took some distance. The woman began to attack in a circular motion that made her sword attack look like a bolt of lightning. Her opponent had read the flow of the attack from her and immediately moved quickly dodging any incoming attacks. The bamboo trees and the surrounding land were hit by stray attacks and were getting more and more destroyed every second.

The ground swayed as they smashed into each other, making the trees and rocks flung in all directions. The giant bamboo was cut in half by Yue Linghe's sword, inflicting a wooden fault that covered the road. Xue Zhan clenched his teeth, he could not see the fight just like that. But the poison in his body is so hard to neutralize. This was even a thousand times more dangerous than the poison Loreng Lizard had ever eaten.

When Yue Linghe dodged Xiang Yi Bai's attack, he smashed his palm into the ground, creating a gigantic hole that shook the surrounding ground. Xiang Yi Bai only dodged the attack by soaring into the air, seeing the ground beneath him shake and destroy hundreds of bamboo trees. Yue Linghe had completely vented the anger she had endured all this time.

Rain of wood and stones falling. Even though Yue Linghe looked superior in the fight, Xue Zhan could see that Xiang Yi Bai seemed to have greater strength than Yue Linghe and was able to survive any deadly attacks.

Merely, the man did not expend all of his strength like Yue Linghe did.

Yue Linghe rampaged greatly. The woman began to bring up her past grudge 20 years ago when Xiang Yi Bai killed someone who meant a lot to her, none other than the co-founder of the Purple Centipede. In the past when Xiang Yi Bai became the Grand Chief of the Martial World he exterminated hundreds of merciless criminals and it suppressed the movement of the black stream group but as the enemy's pay increased and he became the enemy's man.

"You are truly a demon, Yi Bai." The purple eyeballs stared fiercely at Xiang Yi Bai. "Do you think in this world crimes really exist so you deserve to kill others just because it's their fault?!"

"Evil exists because of goodness. You protect what you think is valuable, by destroying anything that is meaningless to you. So did I. I protect what I think is right. That's fair. Because it's the law that applies."

Yue Linghe looked so furious that her mouth trembled. "Destiny made you born in this world to destroy us. You killed tens of thousands of humans and even your own friends with the sword of virtue while smiling demon, you are even more evil than evil itself. I'll take your life this time," he was angry, his tone changed heavily, "Maybe with your death will save the lives of many."

Xue Zhan was frozen. Yue Linghe held a great grudge for something that happened in the past, yet he had yet to capture everything other than the fact that Xiang Yi Bai might have slaughtered over thousands of humans for the sake of justice. He began to question, what is justice. Is justice only for those who are on the right path? So that those who deviate in the opposite direction are not worth living?

His mind was floating, Xue Zhan was staring upwards, his eyes were wide open as he saw Xiang Yi Bai and Yue Linghe flying above the clouds. The two people started attacking each other at lightning speed, their swords colliding together producing a loud and ear-piercing sound. Xue Zhan looked up, trying to follow their movements, but too quickly even after he had sharpened his eyesight.

A bright light appeared two seconds in the sky as Xiang Yi Bai attacked with full force. Yue Linghe dodged, moving swiftly above the clouds as the attack exploded and created a huge explosion that seemed to shake the sky. For a moment Hua Lian and Xue Zhan could feel waves of energy filling the air.

Yue Linghe counterattacked with an equally great strength. It is undeniable that the sound of a powerful explosion was heard again until it echoed to a distant place.

"This fight is terrible. They're not like they're human."

Hua Lian clucked. He had not even engaged in a fight at all, even though he had prepared himself for many years to finish off Yue Linghe with his own hands. But after seeing firsthand the power of the woman he understood that he was not a commensurate opponent.

Xue Zhan looked up again, looking at Xiang Yi Bai's last attack that shattered Yue Linghe's sword into dust. The final explosion shook the sky, the trembling air giving rise to a ring of smoke that continued to expand in all directions. Yue Linghe fell into the Yellow Bamboo Forest.
