The Legend of the Devil

The Legend of the Devil
Ch. 07 - Sorry, Teacher

The woman had white eyes with silver-gray pupils, long hair down to the toe and a jagged fan weapon that had its own distinctive aura.

For a moment Kang Jian was made to freeze. The arrival of the Sixth Light from the Red Fangs in the surroundings of the Emperor's palace was one of unforgivable sloppiness, the guards watching in front should have stopped the woman before going in too far plus she was carrying her troops, the red cross masked men scattered all over.

Chao Mi, the Ruler of the Valley of Fire, he was the most dangerous swordsman from the west coast of the Feng Empire. His magic had already reached the highest stage and his fighting prowess could even compensate for the 14 Sacred Swords. Gusar was seen on Kang Jian's face. Right now help had yet to come, even from a distance Kang Jian could listen to the sounds of battle.

It doesn't seem to be just where the fight is going. However, it was clear at this moment, Chao Mi was eyeing Xue Zhan. Kang Jian could not let that happen just like that.

He immediately held onto the sword hilt, seeing Chao Mi start to show gawagat want to attack first. With his finger, the sword opened. A bright flash appeared as the blade of the sword reflected such scorching sunlight.

A sly smile was drawn on her merry red lips, the woman pointed back.

"You think those pebbles can hold me?"

Then came a crisp laugh from him. Kang Jian was on standby, if a woman could pass the unusually strict guard in the palace of course she was not an enemy that could be underestimated. Moreover, his title as the Sixth Light, one of the six strongest people in the organization who had now shaken the entire Empire since their recent massive assault.

"What are you looking for here? If you want to attack the Emperor I'm sure your group will be wiped out immediately. Killing the strongest people of Diqiu Empire? It seemed like a waste of time," Kang Jian's opinion drew an even wider smile on his face.

Kang Jian widened his eyes, he turned his head back and saw someone hiding near the door. Red eyes and horns on his head, now Kang Jian understood what the woman was after.

"You're the same, you know his identity and want to keep his power alone? So selfish, I hate selfish men like you, even if you're very handsome and fit my criteria ..." At first glance the woman blushed. But then his eyes changed.

"It feels like I'd love to say that beautiful skin of your face for me to preserve and look at all night," a shrill laugh resounded. Kang Jian tightened the grip of his hand on the sword.

A fight was inevitable again, in an instant the place turned into a battleground. Chao Mi had long-range fighting skills, therefore every time Kang Jian unleashed a direct hit the woman immediately disappeared and attacked from the other side.

The attack from above shocked Kang Jian, Chao Mi came from above.

The lacing on the rocky floor gave off a considerable cracking sound, Kang Jian leaped far less than a second before the opponent finished him off.

"You avoiding me?"

Kang Jian reflexively turned his head back, before the man dodged Chao Mi had created a trap. A confinement of light pervaded one spot up to five meters. Kang Jian was trapped could not go anywhere, meanwhile Chao Mi started to raise her weapon.

The white light sword was created by the wind from its giant fan. Chao Mi smiled triumphantly. "It's not hard getting rid of keroco like you!"

There is no way to escape. Kang Jian prepared to accept the attack raw, Chao Mi's attack drew closer and the sword would stab Kang Jian in any case. Until suddenly the voice of someone stopped Chao Mi.

"Stop!"

Chao Mi held back the attack for a moment, interested in seeing her target come out of the cage.

"Are you scared, little brother?" Her tone that was creepy made-up adorable. He crouched down in front of Xue Zhan, putting on a concerned face.

"Honestly, you can't bear to see little kids like you scared of being made by this bad guy. You all right? Is anyone hurt? I heard that Emperor Ziran will sentence you to death, even though you are so young and completely innocent ..."

A drop of tears fell down her cheeks, Chao Mi touched Xue Zhan's face.

"Little kids like you?" repeated Xue Zhan, still hoping for one thing. Lin Yu Mei, lately she had been missing her sister's annoying behavior so much. Sorrow infiltrated within the space of his heart, Chao Mi realized the look in Xue Zhan's eyes.

"Don't want to go with him, Xue Zhan!"

Kang Jian tried to get out of there but it was useless. As long as Chao Mi still drained her power into the trap then it would continue to imprison Kang Jian.

"That person," pointed Chao Mi at Kang Jian. "He wanted the Book of the Heavenly Phoenix so badly from you, after you were sentenced to death he would take the book for himself. You are still so innocent, Xue Zhan. But I'm telling you what really happened to you, for your own good."

"No way, Teacher ..."

Xue Zhan looked at Kang Jian, believing in disbelief, while Chao Mi continued to speak next to him, making him start to question Kang Jian's attitude.

"The woman is cunning, Xue Zhan! Don't forget you've been my student. I never wanted that Book of Heavenly Phoenix, I just-"

"Follow the rules, don't you think, Master?" Xue Zhan bowed, Kang Jian was speechless in disbelief. Chao Mi still continued to provoke the child, a look of hatred visible in Xue Zhan's red eyes. The worry on his face was clear. Chao Mi will take Xue Zhan with her.

"There has never been a human as good as Master, it makes me suspicious. There must be something you want from me. I am willing to do that ... But you asked for it by killing me. You brought me to the Emperor's Palace to stand trial even though I didn't kill anyone..."

While Kang Jian was speechless, he did so at the behest of Emperor Ziran. The mission the man had given him was indeed his responsibility, including bringing Xue Zhan before the Emperor.

"Now I understand, what is the meaning of the rules that Master said."

Chao Mi grinned at the Devil behind Xue Zhan who was already consumed by his talk. It was as if laughing at Kang Jian.

"Sorry, Teacher. I stopped being your student. I'm gonna follow him and find my new home."

"The right choice, Zhan'er. You're in good hands. We'll accept you always as long as you're willing to train to be the next Light."

Xue Zhan clenched his hands, feeling his decision was already unanimous.

"I have one request."

Chao Mi who was already happy immediately replied.

"What?"

"May I kill him?"

Chao Mi and Kang Jian were both shocked, only now that Kang Jian's position was threatened. Chao Mi looked up and asked one of her troops to give Xue Zhan a sword.

"Of course, as a test to see how much loyalty you have to the group. Go ahead, Xue Zhan. Kill your hypocritical and selfish teacher. He deserves it."

Kang Jian shook his head, he couldn't believe that even Xue Zhan wanted it right away.

"Once again, sorry, Master."

Xue Zhan stood in front of the light trap, raising his sword. In a moment Chao Mi was stunned.
