The Legend of the Devil

The Legend of the Devil
Ch. 219 - Underground Brackets

He took out a sword from the spell paper, pulling his hand back to slash at Xue Zhan's head. The young man immediately took up arms, dispelling the sharp thin iron.

It's getting harder. Xue Zhan was completely cornered. Ming Dao had strength far above him and plus he was fighting on a difficult battlefield, fighting with a Second Light as well as fighting a sandstorm overwhelmed him and ended up falling down just as it now did.

Xue Zhan tried to fend off, but the enemy still tightened the impulse and made him unable to move anywhere.

"Now is your end."

Ming Dao could hear clearly the confident answer from the young man's mouth.

" ... Still not." His faint voice was swallowed by the noise of the storm. Ming Dao drew a brief smile. He knew the young man was looking for a way to escape.

His eyes continued to lock onto Xue Zhan, watching the young man begin to show his familiar movements and strength, one of the 100 Basic Movements of the Thousand Tree Mountain.

"Haha ... You really learned that skill? I think the Old Monster thought a little about the future of his ruined College and hoped you could continue that college. But baby!"

The push of the Ming Dao weapon grew louder, he bellowed ferociously. "I'll finish him to ten generations!"

The slanting sword slashed towards Xue Zhan's dodging head so quickly, blood dripping on the tip of Ming Dao's sword eyes staining the yellowish sand beneath his feet. He frowned, Xue Zhan disappeared from his sight.

He turned around, following the scent of demon blood that was so thick. "I know where you are."

Despite using unexpected attacks even though Ming Dao was still able to figure out its whereabouts. Xue Zhan who was eyeing him from behind would inevitably have to keep attacking even though his attack was read.

While Ming Dao had been on standby first, a bright light appeared in his palm and was about to unleash a powerful shot.

Without thinking long Ming Dao directly attacked Xue Zhan, not expecting a second before the light shot passed through his enemy, Xue Zhan more quickly disappeared.

Behind him appeared six light green phoenix shadows that shot out in high speed towards the Ming Dao and immediately lunged at him simultaneously. Ming Dao moved the ten Earth Rats to destroy the birds while growling in disbelief. He was tricked by the young man again

"How does it feel to be played like a fool?"

He started laughing, Xue Zhan wiped the corner of his bloody lips with a satisfied face. At least he could avenge his enemy even if he had to die that day.

Ming Dao laughed cynically-between laughing at the words of his enemy or himself who was already very confident of being able to kill Xue Zhan.

"Oh hahahha. Just wait, I'll cut your cocky mouth out."

Having previously messed up the palace hall of Feng Empire and made a terror, Fenghuang was caught and put in a cage to be taken to the basement, imprisoned before receiving punishment for her deeds.

The bird with graceful wings patterned in golden red cussed in the heart a thousand times and cursed everyone who was in the Feng Empire. He had thought there were at least one or two people who heard him but he was wrong, none of them cared about what happened to his employer.

And here he is now. Caged pitifully like a pet bird, waiting for when the people outside will set him free. They looked astonished at him but also looked frightened on one side. Perhaps only Fenghuang was left from among the Phoenixes that existed.

Fenghuang tried to destroy the locking seal in the cage, she had already tried it hundreds of times but the result was nil. Whoever made the seal must have a high level of science.

The night came down so slowly. Fenghuang turned agitated, "It seems like the war is getting closer. What am I doing here? Goddamn bum. I'm gonna kill that woman after I get out of here."

The conversation never stopped eight hours ago. Then someone responded with a sniffle.

"You want to kill His Majesty?"

The red eyes of the bird glanced towards a figure who had been there for some time. He was the one who had strangled him at that time and kept him locked up in this prison. Fenghuang drew closer to the tightly packed iron cage, staring intently at the young man.

"I'm going to kill you this too" he said.

It did not sound right other than the cold gaze that exasperated Fenghuang half to death.

"I want to know what you want to say in the palace."

Fenghuang looked a little surprised, then she asked back. "But you locked me here. Whatchu mean? If you want to listen to everything, you shouldn't have caught me and put me in this rotten place!"

There was silence in the quiet and silent basement. However Fenghuang was able to sense the mysterious power tremors from the young man's body with that pair of pitch-black beads.

"I cannot allow Emperor Li's name to be tarnished by baseless slander. As happened to Emperor Ziran."

He said while bringing up the problems that befell Ziran Zhao on the allegations made by Jiazhen Wu. The man was pronounced dead receiving the death penalty. Xiao Rong warned against all the bad possibilities in such a chaotic situation right now because it was his duty.

"It all started thirty years ago." He started telling stories, no matter the young man was seriously listening or not. He only wanted one person to know the truth that happened after he managed to break free from the Gulf of Regret.

"I used to live with my master, Feng Xu. He was a pure demon, a descendant of the demon nobility who was so revered and respected ..."

Xiao Rong was a little stunned though his facial features were as flat as ever, the young man stopped sticking his back against the wall and started standing in front of the Fenghuang prison to listen to his story.

"My master is in love with the ambitious and graceful Miss Li. He sacrificed everything for the woman, her family, her property, her power. People say, 'Love is blind' and it seems to be true. My master who was so stiff changed ever since he met Li Jia Xing."

"I'm happy to see him always laughing happily, he smiles more often. It made me believe that Miss Li was the right person for someone like the generous Mr. Feng."

His tone turned bitter, feeling so clear that it reached Xiao Rong's ears.

"Master once said that love makes life more colorful. But you forgot, black is also a color."

Fenghuang continued, "After the war broke out in the Phoenix Kingdom and brought down one Phoenix kingdom, the demons became a frightening specter for humans. Everyone fought them and was determined to exterminate them."

"Then Master Feng and Miss Li who were involved in the relationship secretly ran out of ways. Miss Li has become the Emperor and must immediately choose. Between his people who want the destruction of the devil or his lover who is a demon."

**

Inside the misty valley that held a negative aura, hundreds of warriors with black hoods that were like human puppets lined up neatly. They were wearing the exact same fox mask.

In front of them, there were dozens of people walking around and around the line, performing a ritual filled with strange and strange items. Even some of the heavenly heirlooms of the 100 Miracles of the World were in the midst of the ritual channeling immense energy

The ritual looks like a blend of dance moves and mantras led by a spiritual leader. They formed a circle with regular steps, raised their hands into the air and chanted words that sounded foreign and magical. Their voices merged with the thickening fog around the valley, creating an increasingly gripping atmosphere.

The ritual leaves the warriors with black hood convulsing and uncontrollable for a few seconds, as if entered by a magical power they cannot fully control. The empty bodies began to fill with something.

Some of them moved but still saw difficulty in controlling their swords, while others seemed to lose their balance and stagger in their steps.

The black hood is overpowered by stronger magical powers as the ritual gets further away. The scene looked even more terrifying, which was just a weak and helpless corpse started to turn into armed soldiers numbering in the thousands

Amidst the thickening fog and increasingly intense ritual rhythms, the warriors with black hoods continued to move clumsily and irregularly. They tried to resist the magical influence, but the power of the ritual was too strong for them to overcome.

In a state of chaos and chaos, the sounds of screams and moans of confusion filled the misty valley. Swordsmen with black hoods that look weak are now tough and dangerous.

The thick fog increasingly enveloped the valley.

The spiritual leader who led the ritual continued to control the situation with great concentration. He continued chanting incantations and playing hand gestures that further intensified the influence of his strength.

The ritual of summoning a soul into the body of a corpse with a red hood continues, unfolding with ever greater intensity. The warriors with fox masks acting as watchdogs looked tense, realizing that something more devastating was going on. They looked at each other, expressing their worries and confusion in a serious expression.

The leader of the mysterious group leading the ritual still remained calm and focused. He stared intently, closely observing every detail of the summoning process. In his heart, he could feel the power of an evil spirit that was so great and powerful, exceeding anything he had ever experienced before.

This power seemed to start entering the bodies of the prepared corpses, filling them with new life as Ghost Warriors.

There were sounds of incantations constantly echoing in the valley, filling the air with gripping tremors. The previously lifeless corpses began to move in a clumsy and inhumane motion. Their bodies wrapped in black hoods seemed to be inhabited by an evil force that transcended the world of life.

The tense atmosphere continued to envelop the valley. The overseers knew that the Ghost Warriors that came from the bodies of these corpses would become formidable and deadly enemies. It was even enough to destroy four Empires at once. It's really the craziest idea ever.

The leader of the group smiled wickedly, seeing how his plan went without any meaningful hitch.

He was increasingly looking forward to that thrilling war, the four Empires would suffer the same destruction that the Phoenix Kingdom had experienced.

Thousands of newly formed ghost warriors moved in unison. They walked towards their leader inhumane steps until finally thousands of troops bowed before the man. That terrifying sight created a sinister atmosphere in the misty valley.

The ghost soldiers looked like black shadows that filled the valley. In silence, only the whirring of the wind was heard infiltrating between the magical bodies. Their faces were covered by a black hood that, when seen like ordinary humans, was no longer a living human being.

Rumbling sounds rang out from the ghost warrior prostrating before him. The noisy roar grew even more pronounced as the ghost warriors stood back up, marching in an orderly manner behind their chief and raising their swords ready for battle. One by one, their eyes that were covered by the fox mask were visible with a fiery red radiance behind the darkness.

The misty valley felt filled with an invisible evil force but could be felt by everyone who was there. Each step of the ghost warriors produced a faint sound of footsteps, creating a terrifying vibe around and the undead were always ready to carry out their chief's orders.

In his heart the leader of the group began to predict the coming of calamity for the four Empires and the entire land while grinning the demons.

"A little while ... Any minute ... I'll shock you to death."
