The Legend of the Devil

The Legend of the Devil
Ch. 71 - Bets and Third Choice

Jiazhen Yan's body reacted strangely. The young man looked like he was in a struggle from within.

"Aarraygh!"

Xue Zhan tightened his grip on the sword, convincing himself this was the best to deal with the critical situation and walk towards the Poet Ghost. The safety of his friends and this mission was number one, he could not risk it just like that.

Jiazhen Yan's hand closed one of her pale red eyes, she cursed desperately in the midst of her unconsciousness.

"Don't you dare conspire with that demonic woman!"

That voice boomed within the forest, Xue Zhan did not stop or turn his head at all.

He saw more enemies were inside the Ghost Jade Tower, they were dead humans controlled in that place. The number could be tens to hundreds.

Seeing Xue Zhan's reaction, the young man grew increasingly heated.

"Zhan!" shouted Jiazhen Yan, The Ghost Poet strengthened his quote on the lute. Didn't let the young man revolt and derail everything. Now that Xue Zhan was his, the unceasing red lips smiled.

"If you want to be my servant, put down your sword."

Xue Zhan actually did so without refuting.

The youth of ity was getting closer, while occasionally breathing heavily.

"I'll rip you out of this!" lontar Jiazhen Yan runs out of patience, she fails to escape from the influence of the lyre music Ghost Poet, the beautiful woman accelerated her hand movements and shackled Jiazhen Yan's body with the power of the zither until Jiazhen Yan again lost consciousness.

He turned his gaze to Xue Zhan who was already standing right beside him.

"The right decision. May I know your name"

The Ghost Poet leaped from his place, Xue Zhan suddenly just shook his bare hands towards him. Those red eyes seemed to change from before.

"Being your waiter? My only option now is to fight with my friend to the death. I've sworn, as a warrior who will sacrifice life for the Empire and accept all the consequences of the mission I'm on, I won't be afraid of death!"

The white sword returned to the hands of its owner, Xue Zhan unsheathed the sword towards the Poet Ghost.

The subsequent twisting slash movement left the Poet Ghost stunned, Xue Zhan turned his profound strength and poured power into his sword iron to cut through the thin thread that would not be seen with human eyes.

Dozens of threads of strength were cut off, releasing Jiazhen Yan who instantly broke free from the influence of the enemy and regained consciousness.

Two years ago Xue Zhan had experienced the same situation where his Master was being held back by the enemy and he was almost out of steps. Xue Zhan was able to see such a thin strength from an opponent with his red-eye ability, those thin threads were able to control things remotely as the user wished. If it was just an ordinary human eye it would be difficult to trace it.

He flicked the sword to the side, a few strands of thread dropped. Xue Zhan said, "From the beginning of your musical instrument quote it's just a cheat, right? The rhythm that you deliberately make to mess with other people's minds is actually nothing. But these sharp threads are your main skill. You can stab a man who even stands ten feet away from you even if he doesn't move an inch."

The Poet's ghost stopped picking the lute and couldn't dodge it anymore.

"I remember something" instead of continuing the previous conversation.

"The Sixth Light once spoke of you. Your eyes are as sharp as your mind. But I didn't think we'd meet so soon."

"Sixth Light?" xue Zhan asked back. Given the fan woman with long hair, she was very fierce and even threatened to come back to target him. Hearing the name Red Fangs lately caused uneasiness for him.

Undeniably, the movement of the criminal group is increasingly becoming-so, even two weeks ago there was a massacre at the slave market and killed at least 78 young women and 104 children.

It is not terendus what the motive is, but if they are just trying to disrupt the martial world, it certainly cannot be allowed and must be considered as a serious problem.

No swordsman - not even the greatest college - could stop the Red Taring. Their headquarters are so hidden. Some say the Red Taring is in a forest mountain range that resembles a labyrinth, the headquarters can move around.

Just getting in there is so difficult let alone finding a way out.

Highlight those eyes flashed, "I won't let you go of this."

Jiazhen Yan stood parallel next to Xue Zhan, the fight back happened so quickly. Both were surrounded by twenty opponents at once. Xue Zhan faintly saw those sharp threads coming back from the enemy lute. Trying to reach out to the two wanted to tear their bodies apart.

Jiazhen Yan could not see her at all, the two turned their backs to protect the blind spot and fought against the attack from the subordinates of the Ghost Jade Tower with Xue Zhan focusing on severing the threads belonging to the Poet Ghost and Jiazhen Yan resisting the attacks from various sides.

The sound of sword clanking, stalks and endless kicks sounded endless. Xue Zhan spoke in the middle of the fight, "It will be endless, they will keep coming!"

They were further besieged, Jiazhen Yan called out, "Get rid of them all!"

Jiazhen Yan held onto Xue Zhan's arm and arbitrarily made his friend grip, he kicked the chest of the enemy tilted and spun until dozens of them fell bouncing.

Xue Zhan and Jiazhen Yan escaped from the siege.

The Poet's ghost widened the netra of his eyes, plucking musical instruments getting rougher. Summoning over fifty dead humans was to attack Xue Zhan and Jiazhen Yan.

Both trapped. Dozens of enemies flew over them while raising swords. There's no way out anymore.

"Our history is finished."

*

A beautiful woman was sitting on top of a giant swan statue that was in the Emperor Palace pond while sipping her tea quietly. A small wave on the surface of the water at a glance disturbed his peace, indeed from the back of his personal bodyguard walked hurriedly while carrying a pile of report papers.

"Team Xiao Rong has not sent word since three days ago, Your Majesty!" the panic was straight to the point. A moment Li Jia Xing turned his head slowly, revealing a troubled look in his eyes.

"You're debating my decision?"

Du Xiaohua, the name of the personal servant lady did not dare to argue any further.

"I-I'm sorry, Your Majesty, I'm too carried away by my feelings and don't pay attention to my words."

Li Jia Xing looked back to the front while finishing the tea that was only half left.

"I deliberately didn't tell them about the difficulty of the mission, I'm sure they were able to deal with it ."

"But ... Isn't that girl precious to us? We can send an elite swordsman to save him. Moreover, what they were facing was the Ghost Jade Tower."

"I want to see how powerful that demon as well as disciple Kang Jian was able to endure, he was a demon who had always been more concerned with his own race than humans. That's their true identity."

He continued, "I bet on two possibilities. First, will he run while dumping his friends? Or second, willingly bathed in blood to carry the bodies of his friends?"

His white finger put the cup back onto his plate, smiling cursively. "But my heart chose the third answer. The devil will return by bringing the girl with his friends."

"Your Majesty risked the girl's life and our genius in the hands of a demon like her?"

Li Jia Xing laughed.

"You think?"

The woman stood facing Du Xiaohua who did not dare to look at Emperor Li's face. The idea of that woman was always desperate.

"I saw a close bond between them. Never saw the Son of Darkness behave more humanely before meeting such idiots as that demon and his two companions from Diqiu Empire."

That graceful step galloped past Du Xiaohua, Li Jia Xing whispered beside the woman's ear.

"But I'm worried that the storm's wind will hit the demon, bringing with it a myriad of dangers capable of shaking our little Xiao Rong's heart and continuing to believe it?"
