The Legend of the Devil

The Legend of the Devil
Ch. 152 - The Hall of the Wind Sword

The morning brought a cold wind. Xue Zhan, Xiang Yi Bai, Fenghuang along with Fan Yuan and his bodyguards had set out to fulfill Emperor Li's call before meeting Ziran Zhao in the afternoon. Along the way, a courtyard in the imperial palace has a magnificent atmosphere and is full of symbolism.

In the middle of the yard, there is a large pond surrounded by a beautiful garden and equipped with large trees and diverse flowers. Around the pond, there are footpaths made of large stones and decorated with historical statues depicting the triumph.

The grandeur of Diqiu Imperial Palace was indeed beyond doubt.

At the end of the yard, there is a magnificent pavilion with a beautiful view of the surrounding garden.

As usual, Xiang Yi Bai was busy chatting with Fan Yuan, the man had extensive knowledge and good speaking ability making it easy for him to blend in with others. Xue Zhan only piled up occasionally. Among those Fenghuang who did not speak much, he looked annoyed throughout the journey and always looked at the people around him cynically.

Until they passed through a gold-patterned pavilion adorned with a statue of the Phoenix on either side of the driveway, a carving of the Phoenix bird on the doorstop and the same painting on the walls of the room. Fenghuang paused for a moment to look at the pavilion and her face looked extremely angry even though she harbored it well. Xue Zhan frowned.

"Why?"

"Nothing." Fenghuang gawked away and soon followed the entourage. Xue Zhan shook his shoulders, he also did not know who Fenghuang really was. The phoenix kept his secret from him. Xue Zhan did not know at all the reason why Fenghuang arrived at the seal with a seal the level of the Sky Seal that could be said to be the last level of the strongest seal.

Xiang Yi Bai had said that Fenghuang was looking for something in the human realm, it seemed that Fenghuang was starting to get annoyed from continuing to linger in the emperor's palace. Xue Zhan wanted to speed up his movements and immediately leave this place before his identity was revealed.

They arrived at the place where Emperor Li lived with his hundreds of servants, the Wind Sword Hall. The Wind Sword Hall was a magnificent building located in the middle of a beautiful garden. On the side of the Wind Sword Hall, there was a wide, shallow pond decorated with natural stones and a small waterfall on one side. This pool is filled with small fish and large and shady trees that provide shade around the pond.

At that place Emperor Li waited while enjoying the scenery in front of him. He had just turned his head when Fan Yuan spoke behind him by bringing along their guests.

"Your Majesty, I brought the warriors who saved me during the attack the other day."

Xue Zhan felt something extremely sharp. The woman looked back and without further ado her gaze instantly locked onto Xue Zhan. Xue Zhan hurriedly covered the sword tucked in his waist with a robe cloth. Worried that she knew who she was.

"Just my feelings or have we met before? You're no stranger to me."

That instant Xue Zhan instantly mutely. Undeniably, Li Jia Xing had a sharp mind and guesses that rarely missed. Xue Zhan thought of the answer until Xiang Yi Bai finally made a calm voice.

"Maybe when you passed the city road at that time, we stood at the side of the road welcoming your arrival. Did Your Majesty also see the three of us?"

Li Jia Xing was suspicious, he also did not confirm why he could guess so immediately but after recalling carefully Li Jia Xing had indeed seen the three of them back then. What he remembered most was the girl in red clothes and that beautiful face. After taking a closer look the girl was much prettier but she was very, very judesque and unfriendly.

"It seems right," he then replied, dismissing his suspicions and immediately allowing them to sit on a chair surrounding the stone table. Located on the side of the pool that has a charming view.

The waiters served food, drinks and some snacks. Of them all only Fenghuang did not eat anything.

Of course it made Li Jia Xing a little distracted.

Li Jia Xing asked. "Is the food bad, Miss ..." Li Jia Xing did not know what his name was, Fenghuang turned her head for a moment then looked away.

Fenghuang stared intently at him before finally turning back to waste face.

"Oh, yeah. I don't think sunflower tea is too bad. You will definitely like it," Emperor Li said as he offered Fenghuang a cup of tea. The girl stared at him for quite a while and added awkwardness to the dining table. Xue Zhan had already guessed this would not go smoothly. He nudged Fenghuang's foot under the table while whispering.

"Drink." Xue Zhan was impatient.

"Drink by yourself." Fenghuang's reply was more taut than usual. Xue Zhan cursed inwardly, looking for answers so that Li Jia Xing would not be offended.

"Sorry Your Majesty. My friend was also constipated from last night. Fifteen times defecate until his body is dry. It's so sorry."

"Ah, did you eat wrong?" Li Jia Xing tried to make Fenghuang make a sound.

"I'm sorry, Your Majesty, our friend Fenghuang is not feeling well. It's good he's back at the inn."

Xue Zhan saw how Fenghuang was staring at Li Jia Xing, the girl's red eyes as if harboring something she couldn't read. Even when the maid started coming to bring Fenghuang back to Fan Yuan's temporary residence, Fenghuang still put on the same gaze.

Xue Zhan let out a silent breath. Fenghuang is not as usual. Then it then sounded Li Jia Xing again making a sound, this time he called out to someone.

In an instant Xue Zhan was silent.

The young man was as tall as he was, his eyes growing pitch-black as well as the aura around him. His cold eyes did not look at him at all. He felt like a much different person to the figure that Xue Zhan had met 5 years ago.

"Rong'er, find the most efficacious medicinal plant for Miss Fenghuang. He had a stomachache as well as a toothache, take the medicine into place immediately," Li Jia Xing ordered. The woman turned her head towards Xue Zhan to ask.

"Does Miss Fenghuang still have symptoms of other diseases?"

Xue Zhan's mouth suddenly stiffened, he was unwilling to make a sound. If it was Li Jia Xing, perhaps the woman had already forgotten her voice let alone her voice changed considerably from the last time she met Li Jia Xing. Yet Xiao Rong might be able to recognize him easily.

In such a crucial moment like this of course Xue Zhan directly called his teacher's stepmother.

'Teacher!! Save me!' inwardly, Xiang Yi Bai was astonished at the heartwarming gaze of his disciple.

"No more, Your Grace. That alone was more than enough," Xiang Yi Bai finally replied. Xue Zhan looked at Xiao Rong who had directly left without saying a word.

When Xiao Rong left, Xue Zhan dared to speak.

"I can ask? Why ... That person had an extremely dense aura and was unwilling to speak?" Xue Zhan pretended not to know him, Li Jia Xing suddenly sighed resignedly.

"Maybe you're a little distracted by the power of darkness in his body. He became like that after someone's death and always blamed himself for that person's death."
