The Legend of the Devil

The Legend of the Devil
Ch. 08 - Reversing the Sword

A young girl in an ivory white robe with a beautiful floral pattern and a beautiful face peered out from behind the trees. The daughter of the War Emperor, as soon as people called her. His shady eyes stared at the one point where the fight was going on.

Elsewhere Xue Zhan who was approaching Chao Mi's trap suddenly flipped the sword and cut off a stream of power in the trap that was connected through a thin thread from Chao Mi. The loss of strength left the trap shattered, Kang Jian who read the situation quickly escaped.

Chao Mi could not believe it. As quickly as Xue Zhan betrayed him, there was no need to even blink, without a doubt Xue Zhan stabbed him in the back.

Seeing the situation Kang Jian just found out what he did not know from Xue Zhan. Those blood-red eyes were much sharper than ordinary human eyes. He could see the flow of power so clearly. And for a moment, Kang Jian saw how Xue Zhan had accidentally unleashed his true power in a sword. To amaze him in a moment.

" ... So I do, yeah."

Chao Mi's face bowed, feeling anger in her tone. Even so the woman was still smiling. Smiling demon with bulging eyes looked at Xue Zhan.

"Right now, Master is the only one who trusts me. I will not let you kill him and I will never betray him until the end of my life."

Xue Zhan's words made Chao Mi's blood rise to the crown.

"I'll finish you off, demon boy!"

As his giant fan moved, a sword of light appeared and charged towards Xue Zhan from various sides. Xue Zhan dodged as much as he could, but it was too late that he realized that the stray attack was towards a girl not far behind him. That sword of light would kill him if he did not dodge quickly.

Kang Jian had already attacked Chao Mi first and was more surprised than Xue Zhan. There was someone who had to be saved, but right now Kang Jian would not have time to go save him.

That young girl, Yin Jiao. The grandson of a dignified leader in the Empire and the son of one of the greatest fighters. He was the son of the War Emperor. At the age of just 14 years he had opened the fifth circle of inner power, equivalent to a medium swordsman.

At that moment Yin Jiao did not realize that a swift attack was darting towards her who was trying to save someone who was injured. His good intentions stopped just like that, his eyes wide open. The girl could no longer escape.

He closed his eyes, terrified. But for a moment his body was pushed until his hand was scratched.

Chao Mi who realized her attack failed to cluck was annoyed. The frown on his face was clearly plastered, he would kill Xue Zhan if it continued to irritate him regardless of the orders from the Light Sect.

As soon as a man confronted him, "Dare to fight children, Red Fangs turned out to be more cowardly than I thought. You're just a bunch of cowards."

"Shut your trash's mouth!"

One attack targeted Kang Jian, but the man had already anticipated and read his opponent's movements. He said something, "Your opponent is me." He pulled out a style.

"Three Leafy Mats!"

The moment Chao Mi pressed down, the shadow of a huge tiger claw moved to stab her. One of the most deadly attacks the man had and no one could imitate him, the Chao Mi who had already been trapped within the range of distance Kang Jian was exposed. His shoulders were scratched and dripping fresh blood. The woman smiled, "So this is the power of the Red Lightning. That's fine." too."

His enemy was injured, Kang Jian turned his head in the other direction.

"Xue Zhan, are you okay?!"

Kang Jian did not have time to look, he was so panicked by Xue Zhan's current state. But before him, Chao Mi would attack even more people. The priority was to stop Chao Mi and beat back as much as possible.

The attack continued to target Kang Jian, Chao Mi attacked increasingly fierce. His agile and unpredictable movements made Kang Jian a little overwhelmed.

But compared to that, Chao Mi was made quite impressed by the man's ability. He might only be a top-tier swordsman, but his attacking and defensive abilities were on par with those of the Sacred Swords. Not only that, the name Red Lightning was quite famous in the class of people like it and did not sound foreign anymore.

"I didn't expect this day to be met directly with you, but seeing you raise that child to be your disciple made me so amazed." Chao Mi drew a meaningful smile, "Are you sincerely making her a disciple? Or has your lover's death made you hate and want to avenge him?"

"I'm not that dirty man."

"Red Driver!"

And in the instant the lightning grew bigger, Kang Jian emerged from an unexpected place and hit Chao Mi. Unable to dodge, Chao Mi used her strength for a counterattack. Unfortunately, at that moment, help came.

The crisis in that place was immediately saved by the presence of two 14 Sacred Swords. The Dragon Warrior and the Ice Shadow arrived, they darted quickly and chased after Chao Mi. An all-out onslaught ensued, the Dragon Warrior who was famous for its great power was a nightmare for Chao Mi. Added to that by the presence of the Ice Shadow, the best ice power controller in Diqiu Empire.

Imperial soldiers began to flood the streets, clearing out the enemy cabal that had begun to slowly weaken. Dozens of men with red cross masks dispersed and eventually retreated. Chao Mi herself was about to leave before the Dragon Warrior and the Ice Shadow attacked her further.

"Now is not the time. But that doesn't mean I give up. This is just the beginning. But next ... Don't expect you guys to survive."

The woman's disappearance left flakes of light fading over the air. Kang Jian took a breath. He managed to hit Chao Mi twice, without being hit by such a fatal attack.

The Dragon Warrior next to him smiled in awe, "Good rescue effort, thanks for blocking it, so the Red Taring did not attack any further into the palace."

"I'm also very grateful, Senior has saved me."

"You've always been humble, Kang Jian." The Ice Shadow nudged him. In the Empire alone the 14 Sacred Swords were used to being called by his nickname. It's pretty commonplace to happen.

They talked for a while, things started to improve. For a moment Kang Jian thought of catching up with Xue Zhan. Someone had already come and exclaimed in anger.

"What did you do to Miss Yin, the fucking devil!?"

The Dragon Warrior and the Ice Shadow were stunned and looked at the source of the sound where everyone was gathering. A young girl was injured in the arm. His servant, a man was screaming hysterically.

"He's hurt bad! Emperor Ziran must know this. Damn devil, you're a murderer! You want to hurt Miss Yin, huh?!" his bubbling cry increasingly invited the soldiers who had cleared things around.

A man with a crown and a golden robe came, his face looked solemn. An anger appeared on his face, a wounded girl, she was the favorite daughter of his daughter who had married a greatest fighter in the Empire.

"Your Majesty! This demon wounded Miss Yin, she deserves to be put to death!"

The servant prostrated, not accepting. He slightly turned towards a young man who was face down to the point of not seeing his face. Yet just looking at the horn on his head anyone already knew who the young man was.

A hateful judgmental gaze was fixed on Xue Zhan.

Amongst the crowd, Kang Jian came and approached Xue Zhan.

"Why do you hate him so much? I knew Miss Yin's hand was indeed slightly injured," she swept the young man to the point that all the soldiers, servants and even Emperor Ziran himself were shocked by what she got.

A young man who was bleeding from the tip of his foot to his face, his body was severely injured. Chao Mi's attack was so dangerous especially for Xue Zhan who had yet to figure out how to protect himself.

"But Xue Zhan was much more injured. He was just trying to protect Miss Yin."

No one made a sound, Kang Jian continued.

"I'll take care of him, because it's my responsibility. We'll take care of you, Your Majesty."

No matter what the crowd said, after all that happened Kang Jian immediately brought Xue Zhan to the halfway house.

He carried Xue Zhan on his back, muttering softly.

"Now I understand a little what it's like to be you. We are the same, Xue Zhan. I've felt the same situation as you ... Hated by everyone even if you feel you've done nothing wrong."
