CHAPTER 12: There is no cure for regret

After defeating Wapol, Luffy jumped off the roof to meet the others. He started asking Chopper about his transformation, Usopp also joined him. Suddenly someone came from the gondola station, he was wearing a Wapol grunt uniform so Luffy attacked him. But he dodged it and shouted at Luffy.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING LUFFY? WANT TO KILL ME?" - it was Zoro, he said it while pointing to the cliff behind him

"Oh, Zoro. Sorry-sorry, I thought you were the fat one who snorted. Why are you wearing that?" Luffy

Zoro & Sanji start their usual dust fight. Then Vivi, Dalton and some villagers got off the gondola station. It looks like there are some gondolas but they didn't see them before. Vivi starts talking to Nami, while Dalton talks to Kureha. Dalton also recognizes Chopper as Hiruluk's son, making Chopper happy. But the villagers are terrified and call him a monster, leaving Chopper terrified and hiding behind Kureha. They get a blow to the head from Luffy and get scolded by Dalton. Nami was talking to Vivi.

"Nami, where's Jon?" - Vivi

Nami then looked around and found Jon, he just stood there quietly after his fight, so he called out to him, but he did not answer. He felt something was wrong, so he walked towards him. When he touched his shoulder, he suddenly fell forward so he caught it.

"JON!?"- Nami

She screamed making everyone turn their heads, and sewed Jon lying there. Kureha examined Jon's body but there was nothing wrong except some minor injuries from her previous fight.

"He was just tired, physically and mentally. His fight did not cause this. It seems that stress is detrimental to his body" - Kureha

"Well, she's not sleeping or resting because we know Nami's sick. He also continued to run around the sea in search of the island and stayed awake at night. She kept coming to check on Nami's condition and changed her compresses while I slept.." - Vivi.

"Surely, before that he also stayed with you until you woke up even with a tough I already said you were fine. Damn it, he doesn't trust my skills" - Kureha

All the crew were worried about Nami, but Jon was the one who worried about her the most. He tried to act like normal but he could not stay still and relax for even a minute. "He must remember" Usopp said something but Zoro put his hand in front of Usopp to stop him.

The others also understood that it was personal so they did not ask anything. Of course the crew knew what Usopp wanted to say. Jon had already told them that he lost his family to a seemingly harmless illness, so they understood his concern for Nami. Well they didn't know that the one who died was Jon, not his family, but he couldn't say it right? So they moved him into the castle to let him sleep.

Sanji made the food from the potion he got from the village. After tasting the food, the residents went down to pick up some ingredients so they could eat more. But there were more people when they came back, it seemed like the whole village wanted to celebrate the defeat of Wapol and when they heard Sanji's food they all wanted to taste it. In the end it becomes a party, even Chopper can finally get along a little with the villagers after they find out that Chopper beat Chess & Marimo.

Nami also gave the key to the gun room to dr. Kureha, said it was her payment for her treatment.

Kureha laughed a little and accepted it,

although it was basically difficult her room was hers because she lived here but she did not have the key so she could not open it. He also seemed to be planning something and needed a weapon room key.

Jon finally woke up wrapped all over his body. He was still sleepy but his fatigue was gone. He woke up because he was hungry. He heard a noise and walked out. He saw most of the villagers sleeping, only some people were still awake, of course the crew was also still awake. They seemed to be tired from the party so they just slept on the snow. When the crew saw Jon walking there, they started cheering and calling out to him. Jon just smiled and shook his head seeing this. He took some food, sat down with Nami, Vivi, Kureha, & Dalton. Then he ate quietly while watching Luffy, Usopp & Chopper clap and

cheering while surrounding Sanji & Zoro

they started fighting as usual.

"You feel better now?" - Vivi

"Yes, but I'm still sleepy. When are we going?" - Jon

"In a moment, we're waiting for you to wake up" - Nami

" Jon" - Nami

"Hmm?" - Jon

"Thank you for worrying about me" - Nami

Kureha & the others were stunned to hear this. It was like he said it to Kureha, but it was more like he said it to himself, especially his last sentence. They were right, Jon still regretting the fact that he couldn't say anything to his family. But he knew there was no cure for regret, so he could only move forward. "Damn brat, you really have a slippery tongue huh? You can even think about and say that 'interesting' phrase while you fight" - Kureha said as she walked towards Chopper.

"Eh!?"- Jon

"What does Jon mean?" - Vivi

When Kureha said it like that, it embarrassed her. Although tough he thought it was cool but he must have thought it was funny. According dr. Kureha knew that she just wanted to show off early. But he had no idea that Luffy & Usopp had already told everyone about his fight, and of course about that sentence as well. The boys just thought it was a nice sentence and they wanted to make it themselves, Vivi looked

impressed because he doesn't know his intentions, but Nami knows, and he now has something

to tease Jon.
