CHAPTER 73: Returning the Shadow

When Jon loses his consciousness, all the salt he keeps in the inventory comes out and spreads. Jon asks the system to clean it up as soon as possible. The salt soon causes Luffy's shadow to become unstable and leaves Oars' body and returns to Luffy.

"GAAAHHH, WHERE DOES SALT COME FROM?" - Moria

The crew outside saw Oars' body fall and they knew Jon had made it, so they were overjoyed. But then Moria came out and she held Jon's neck in front of her. He throws Jon into the crew and laughs.

"SHASHASHASHA, although she managed to release the shadow of the Straw Hat, but I have her shadow now and can put it inside the Oars again." - Moria

Then Moria removes all the salt and puts Jon's shadow inside Oars' body. The shadow came in and the paddle stood back up. He looked around and suddenly put his hand on his head like he was just holding a hat.

"Yare yare dazed." - Oars

They were all shocked and convinced that this was Jon. They had managed to dispel Luffy's shadow, but now Jon's shadow was used for it. It's not the end.

"SHASHASHASHA, Oars, destroy them!" - Moria

"Huh? Who are you?" - Paddle

"I am your master, now follow my command." - Moria

"My lord? So I have to follow your orders?" - Oars

"That's right." - Moria

"But I refuse." - Paddle

"WHAT?" - Moria

"My absolute favorite thing, is to say "NO' to a strong person." - Oars

Moria became dumbfounded, she did not expect Jon's shadow would not listen to her, just like Luffy. He got angry and started nagging at the oars, the crew just stayed there and looked for an opportunity to put salt in the paddle's mouth. While Oars was finally fed up with Moria's nagging.

"CLOSE HELL, YOU'RE SO TERRIBLE YOU DAMN IT!" - Oars

Now everyone was astonished, not only was it not following Moria's orders, it was even angry at her. Moria, of course, becomes angry and decides to take back Jon's shadow and tame it first. But Oars had other ideas, he took a position and looked at Moria.

"BASTARD, DIO!" - Paddles

"" Dio? "" - All

Oars attacked Moria with a quick punch and the ground began to break. The crew decided to run away from there, because the paddle blow was not a joke. Franky carries Jon's body and moves away but it still feels like an earthquake.

"Well, maybe the shadow still has its own will, as we saw with Luffy at first." - Sanji

"But who is Dio?" - Usopp

"Who knows, maybe Jon's enemies in the past. More importantly, we have to wake her up." - Zoro

They tried various ways such as shaking or even punching, but Jon still did not wake up.

Jon immediately got up and looked around, but he did not see Vivi. la looking at his friends who had different expressions. Robin seems only relieved and giggling, Zoro & Nami look guilty, Chopper & Usopp look confused, Franky seems to not understand and just smile, and Sanji looks angry.

"Fuck, why did you wake up when you heard Vivi-chan's name?" - Sanji

Sanji pulled Jon by the collar, and Jon, who was half asleep, answered Honestly.

"Why don't I wake up if my boyfriend comes?" - Jon

Jon raised an eyebrow and had a confused expression. He looked at Sanji who was speechless and not moving at all. Zoro & Nami slapped their foreheads, and Robin giggled. Usopp and Chopper are stunned, and Franky just smiles because he doesn't know Vivi. Jon finally came to his senses, and it was at this moment that he knew, he was screwing up.

"Well, where's the enemy?" - Jon

Jon stood up and looked around the place. He saw the paddle still standing and punching something.

"Damn it, did I fail to free Luffy's shadow?" - Jon

"YOU, DON'T TRY TO CHANGE THE TOPIC! COME HERE AND EXPLAIN YOUR WORDS." - SANJI

Sanji shook Jon's collar and shed tears. Jon looked at Zoro & Nami who turned his gaze somewhere and sighed.

"Sigh, we'll talk about it later, there's something more urgent now." - Jon

"He's right Sanji, it's almost morning and we're starting to get out of the fog area." - Usopp

"So my shadow is there. Well, at least he fought Moria, there's no way my shadow would want to be called a servant." - Jon

After that, they all approached the oar and needed to take Moria and ask (force) her to release all the shadows. As they approached, the oars had stopped punching Moria and it seemed that Moria had escaped from there. They were all looking for her whereabouts and she was on top of the castle.

The oars wanted to attack Moria but suddenly something big and blue attacked the paddle legs and broke them, making the paddle fall. The crew saw the one who attacked Oars and thought it was a new enemy. But actually Luffy but he's getting bigger and blue. He even has a katana on his back.

"Oi Luffy, what happened to you?" - Usopp

"I'm Luffy's Nightmare." - Luffy

"Well, so what happened?" - Jon

"Let me explain what happened to you." - ???

The crew looked back and they saw some people coming. The one who spoke to them was a large woman with pink hair, her name was Lola. They explained that they had entered the 100 shadows they had accumulated long ago. The shadow makes Luffy stronger and gains his abilities. That's why he can use a katana too.

"So it'll help Luffy fight Oars and Moria?" - Jon

"That's right." - Lola

Nami then explains what happened to them earlier to Luffy. Only now did he realize his shadow had returned.

"Luffy, just focus on Moria, we can handle Oars." - Jon

"Can we?" - Chopper

"All right." - Luffy

Luffy ran after Moria who had gone off the roof. The crew asked Jon how they had lowered the paddle, and the paddle was now standing again, so they had no time to discuss. Jon just ran and flickered near the foot of the paddle.

"Doton: The Swamp of the Underworld." - Jon

Jon made a huge swamp on the ground where the paddle stood. He poured more chakra to make it deeper and bigger. He even needed to activate the Yin Seal to supply his chakra. The size of the paddle was so large that he needed a lot of chakra to drown him in the swamp.

The oars tried to get out and fought hard, but could not get out at all. He tried to attack Jon but the others defended him. Much time & clashes later, half of his body ends up trapped and unable to move. Usopp immediately shot a lot of salt into the mouth of the paddle and a shadow came out and returned to Jon.

"Alright, now we need to find another shadow." - Jon

Just as they were about to move in, Luffy & Moria came and continued their battle near their place. Luffy seems to have the upper hand and Moria gets some injuries. Luffy actually used a katana to fight and he could do well.

"That katana looks good, maybe I can practice using a katana with it." - Jon

"Yes, that doesn't mean Luffy will use it again." - Zoro

Jon sees the people who give Luffy a shadow and asks if he can have a katana later. They all didn't mind as long as they could get their shadow again.

Suddenly the fight stopped and Moria seemed to be doing something with her shadow. Kenmudian, many shadows flew towards Moria and entered her body.

"SHASHASHASHA, I will show you the true power of shadow." - Moria

Moria absorbed the shadow she summoned until she had 1000 shadows on her body. Moria and Luffy continued their fight and now Moria seems to be superior. Luffy seemed to reach his limit with those shadows as well so he started to lose focus. Eventually all the shadows on Luffy's body came out and he fell down.

Luffy weakened after enduring so many shadows on his body. The shadow was not his strength, so it took its toll on his body. Moreover, with 100 shadows it was like he was working 100 times more than usual, so his energy was also depleted 100 times faster.

Luffy got up and got ready again, Jon threw in some pills Chopper had already made. He finally succeeded in his experiment and made some pills like this chakra v2 pill. This pill is not as strong as the original, but it also fills physical energy, not only chakra. So it fits better with the people of this world. However, it cannot be consumed in excess.

All the Straw Hats prepared to fight again and they attacked Moria together. The morning had come, and the sun was beginning to shine on them. Thriller Bark is starting to leave the Florian Triangle, so their time is limited. They needed to get the shadow of Zoro, Sanji, and Robin, so they had to defeat Moria quickly.

They started attacking Moria together. But Moria could defend her attack by controlling her own shadow to create many things like shields or traps. Jon then thought of something and it seemed reasonable, so he made a hand seal.

"Shadow Imitation Steps!" - Jon

Jon shadow moves and binds Moria's shadow. Now Moria could not move her shadow freely and returned to her body. Jon immediately holds Moria so as not to move while his friends will attack him. But Moria fought very hard and Jon started to lose control.

Moria himself is a shadow controller somehow until when, while Jon just started to learn this jutsu. That was why their control over the shadows was so far away. Jon activates the Yin Seal to make the jutsu stronger, but Moria still has better control over the shadows.

"I can't stand it long, hurry up and hit him! Put salt in his mouth or use your sea stones, whatever!" - Jon

The crew sees Moria motionless and her shadow is connected to Jon. They know Jon tied him up, and now they just have to beat him up. They immediately attacked Moria with their sea-stone weapons. Usopp also fired salt into Moria's mouth. Jon tries hard to keep Moria's mouth open, but her mouth is only slightly open. But that's enough for Usopp.

As salt entered her mouth, Moria began to lose control of her shadow. He seemed to be vomiting, but he was holding it. But then, Sanji kicked his chin, Zoro & Franky punched him in the stomach. Moria's mouth was puffed up and was about to vomit. Now Jon doesn't feel much trouble as Moria concentrates on holding the shadows.

"It seems like too many shadows are hard to control, even for power holders." - Jon

Now Luffy has finished his preparations. He was in the 2nd gear and he stretched both his arms back. After Zoro & Franky moved away, Luffy flashed in front of Moria and pulled his hands together to hit Moria's stomach. Moria's still holding on, so. Luffy used his 2nd and 3rd gear simultaneously, weighing down his body more than before.

Eventually Moria could not hold it anymore and a shadow came out of her mouth as she fell flat on her back. All the shadows flew away and most likely returned to their owners. Jon asks Sanji to stand on Moria's body, so the sea stone in his shoes will stop Moria's power.

After a while, everyone's shadow returned just as the sunlight shone on them. Luffy seemed to have lost all his strength, and he instantly fainted, but he would be fine. The crew was relieved and the people there celebrated the shadow of those who had returned. But then, then,

"I get it, I'll kill all the eyewitnesses." - ???

They all heard someone talking and saw that person. He sat down on a huge rubble and spoke to someone with his mushi denden. Some of them recognized him, including Jon who was staring at him with wide eyes.

"Bartholomew Kuma .." - Jon
