CHAPTER 89: Joining the War

Jon was finally able to have the group entry pose he missed at Enies Lobby. Although he did it only with Luffy and a few other outsiders, but this was enough. He was just hoping someone would document their pose right now.

'Damn, this is really good after all this time. I can't do this often now. The enemy is starting to get so strong that I don't have time to do this shit.' - Jon

Everyone was shocked to see them coming to this war. How not, the news of the Impel Down incident must have been known by the Marines. Now these escapees join the war. Jon also looked around the battlefield and saw the Sichibukai.

Jon pays more attention to Luffy's safety than Ace's execution. Luffy is the captain and his friend, but Ace is just an acquaintance of his. Although he had met Ace in the past, but their relationship was not as close as Luffy's. So Jon will prioritize Luffy's life over Ace's even though Luffy will hate him. It sounded cold, but he couldn't save everyone, so he would prioritize the people closest to him.

Jon's got a mind of his own, but he's gonna let Luffy handle this. If Luffy was only intimidated by something like this, then the Pirate King would only be a dream.

"SILENCE! DON'T DECIDE WHAT TO DO! I ALSO KNOW, YOU WANT TO BE THE TRUE KING?" - Luffy

Jon raised an eyebrow, but then he grinned, he knew where Luffy was headed with this. Everyone panicked about this.

"WHO WILL BE THE KING OF THE PIRATE, IS ME!" - Luffy

Jon smiled hearing this, this was why he respected Luffy. Luffy would never hide his dream even if everyone mocked him. Jon doesn't really dream until he joins them and finds out about this world better in Alabasta. For him, survival in this world was more important back then.

But hanging out with the crew grew something in his heart. The dream to be strong, that's why he always liked challenges. The feeling of getting stronger every day always brought satisfaction to him. That's why he respects Luffy and loves his friends. It was they who inspired him to be what he is today.

While Jon was thinking that, Whitebeard had a tick mark on his face. He lifted his bisento and turned it around until it produced a strong wind. Then he slammed his handle onto the floor, and created a shockwave.

'He was still that strong even when he was that old. This grandfather was a monster, Rayleigh, Whitebeard, Garp, and maybe Sengoku were like this as well. '- Jon

Jon just stayed behind Luffy and crossed his arms. He would not feel intimidated by something like this, he had met a God and a Dragon. He only looked at Whitebeard's bisento and thought that it was really a good weapon, but it was too big for him to use.

"Gurarara, you naughty little brat, you better not be a burden." - Whitebeard

"Whispering, I'll do what I want, I'll save Ace myself." - Luffy

"Oi Luffy, don't go forward on your own! It's a war, not our normal fight, so we better move together. We're not at our best right now, so don't attack yourself." - Jon

"Eh, why did you come here Jon?" - Luffy

"Because you go alone." - Jon

Jon hits Luffy on the head and lectures him about moving in together. He did not come here just to fight separately on the large battlefield and many powerful enemies. Luffy finally understood what Jon was saying and nodded.

Luffy then told Whitebeard about the broadcast he had gotten on the Navy ship earlier. Jon did not know this because he focused on meditation. It seems the marines are spreading false information about their plans to advance Ace's execution, so the pirates will panic.

"Oi geezer, you don't want to go to war now?" - Jon

"Hmm? I'll go later and see the situation now." - Whitebeard

"Heeh, guess you really became a grandfather huh? Maybe I'll pursue your powers in just a few years." - Jon

"Hoo, do you want the title of strongest, bad boy?" - Whitebeard's smile

"Darkl? Who cares about such an empty title? What I want to find is a challenge at the top. Fighting with strong people, reaching the limit and surpassing it, the feeling of getting stronger every day, fighting and surpassing your enemy is stronger than you. The top, must be filled with something like that. Isn't that fun?" - Jon

Jon grinned widely, he always found the fight to be very exciting. Maybe because he has Madara's powers. Madara was someone who always liked to fight, so maybe Jon inherited that too. Jon & Luffy ran off and defeated several marines who tried to attack them. Iva also joined them and told them how crazy they were. Jon just laughs and tells him that their crew is known as the craziest rookie crew in Paradise.

Suddenly, Jon saw a bright yellow light with his bed and felt danger. He pulled Luffy and jumped to the side, Iva also used the blink of her eyes towards them and threw them. The beam made a huge explosion near where they lived just a moment ago.

"Damn, Kizaru!" - Jon

It seems like Kizaru is not focusing on them, as he immediately goes to fight others. There were stronger people he needed to fight than them. But then another light appeared from another direction. Not Kizaru, but Kuma, and Jon knew it was the real Kuma, because he had the bible and he had red chakra.

Iva seemed to know Kuma, and Jon was not surprised by this. Naga knows Kuma, so Iva must know him too. Iva asks them to move in without him, but Jon asks for the encouragement he involved Iva on the ship earlier.

After taking a boost, Jon leaves with Luffy, and now his pain has gone and he feels better than ever. It was just an illusion for his brain but it was his best choice for now. Just as Jon was doing a boost shot, he got the mission.

Suddenly, a pair of metal chakra flew towards them, so Jon parried it with his sword. Then another attack came, and now a marine attacked them with his metal knuckles. Jon & Luffy just dodged and landed on the ice.

The Marines retreat and join his team which includes the chakram men. They introduce themselves as Jango & Fullbody and they seem to meet Luffy in East Blue. Jango then tries to use double chakra to hypnotize them, but she instead hypnotizes herself & Fullbody.

"Who are these idiots?" - Jon

Then another Marine came, and Hina was the one they met when they left Alabasta. Jon has a tick, because he's the one who did a lot of damage to Merry. Hina then made long iron bars like fences, and surrounded him with her, even her team.

"Awase Baori." - Hina

Luffy uses his 2nd gear, and Jon uses his lightning mode. As Hina covered the bars, they jumped up very quickly and spared the noose. The Marines were caught and could not move at all. Jon still holds a grudge against him, so he makes a hand seal and attacks him.

"Raiton: The Lightning Beast's Tracking Fangs." - Jon

The fangs of ferocious beasts made of lightning attacked Hina and shocked her. He was electrocuted and knelt down, but it was not enough to defeat him completely. If Sanji was here, he'd kick Jon for assaulting a woman. But Jon doesn't care, he's a supporter of gender equality. Women have been trained to be as strong as men, so it is impolite not to fight them normally.
