CHAPTER 35: Norland The Wild

The crew arrived at the port but they saw many pirate ships there. The cowardly trio wants to deny that it is a pirate ship but Jon shows the skull flag and they begin to tremble. They even saw some people fighting in the harbor, and someone was beaten.

Luffy and Zoro are down, and Jon is down too. As usual Jon will move on his own to find information first, and since this place is full of pirates, it means he has to be 'kind' when gathering information. Jon made clones and spread to all directions. This place is almost lawless, and full of pirates. They would not answer his question just because he asked, so he did not need to be careful when asking them.

Jon and his clone spread out and caught many pirates who seemed to know something. He only used the sharingan genjutsu to make it spill. But of course, Jon did not forget their money. Whether it's the money they brought or their ship.

'Shit, that's a cool sentence, and slamming a bottle gives a better effect. But the man and his dangerous friends, Luffy and Zoro seem to notice them too

Jon saw some people also looking at the scene and went to follow the man before. He decided to return to the ship, but he still left his clone to gather information. Arriving there, Nami grumbled and looked furious at Luffy and Zoro who were not fighting back when some pirates mocked, laughed and attacked them as they talked about the sky island.

"Oh, so that's why you're hurt." - Jon

"JON, WHERE ARE YOU?" - Nami

"Gathering information. But Nami, do you know why they didn't fight?" - Jon

"THEY'RE JUST IDIOTS." - Nami

Nami then tells her story and Jon understands it now.

"Sigh, Nami, what are you fighting for?" - Jon

"You're fighting to achieve your dream, right? So what are you going to do when someone laughs and mocks your dreams?" - Jon

"Then I will prove it to them." - Nami

When they get to the other side of the island, they encounter a strange ship with a strange crew and a strange orangutan-like captain. But they're actually pirates of orangutans. There were monkeys before, now orangutans. This guy named Shoujou, he keeps raving and wants to show off his strength to the crew, but they don't care.

When Luffy accidentally says that they beat up Mashira, the orangutan becomes enraged and grabs the microphone. Then he made a high-frequency sound and his ship started to break, but it was his own ship. The crew decided to leave the idiots behind, but then Merry also started to disintegrate because of the sound. Merry couldn't take more damage so they moved away quickly.

After they left, they arrived on the other side of Jaya. There, they see a large castle on the beach, but Jon feels something is wrong, so he uses sharingan.

"" WHAT!! "" - Crew

They went down and saw that it was actually a board drawn as a castle. Behind him, there was a small house that looked like it was split in two. Luffy had just barged into the house without asking at all. Robin tells the crew what he heard about Cricket, he is someone who says Jaya has a gold medal and looks for it. Nami immediately shoots and orders Chopper to dig.

"Wait for Nami, if the gold is on the ground, Cricket will get everything, and the house is here." - Jon

"Ah, i-it's true." - Nami

"Actually I heard the gold was under the water, in the sea. That is if gold is true. Because I heard he's a descendant of 'Norlandthe Liar' " - Jon

"Norland the Liar?" Starching

Nami read the book and the others listened to it. Basically, Norland was an adventurer, and he often told his stories that looked like boasting and lying. Then one day he told the King that he found a city full of gold. So the King traveled there but they found nothing. So Norland was executed but he said that the city should be drowned in the sea.

"And that liar, can never be a brave man at sea." - Nami looked to Usopp

"DON'T LOOK AT ME! DO NOT ADD THE LAST PART OF THE LOAD YOURSELF!" - Usoppp

Suddenly they heard Luffy's scream and he drowned, then a man with chestnut-like hair came out of the sea. Jon immediately blinked and jumped into the sea, while Sanji fought the man. Jon comes out with Luffy and sees Sanji fighting the man but he suddenly falls alone.

"He must be Cricket, even his hair looks like Norland in the book." - Jon

The crew took him to his house and Chopper checked him out. He said Cricket was sick because he dived too often. Suddenly, the two monkeys came to the house after hearing gunshots. They saw the crew inside and when Luffy said they were taking care of Cricket, they believed it was easy. Luffy went out and

talk like they are friends with them.

Moments later, Cricket wakes up and sees the crew. After learning that the crew helped her, she thanked them and apologized. He thinks they're after his gold. Luffy paid no heed to it and only asked the way to the sky island. Cricket laughed that someone wanted to go there, then he said that only Norland knew the way there, but he was known as a liar.

Cricket begins his story of Norland being passed down in his family. He was actually the most honest person, even though people didn't believe him, but his family always believed him. That was why after several generations, his family was still trying to find a golden city to clear his family name.

But Cricket is not one of them, he is fed up with how his family is treated by people, so he goes and becomes a pirate. But then he arrives on this island and decides to discover the truth of Norland's words, even when his crew leaves him. Then the monkey came 5 years ago and followed him.

"Why is that?" - Luffy

"Stop Luffy! There must be an emotional reason for that." - Usopp

"They're fans of that picture book." - Cricket

"More importantly old man, I want to know the way to the sky island." - Luffy

Cricket then took the notebook, it's Norland's notebook and searched the sky island records. Nami read it and they all became fascinated hearing the sky island was real. Cricket goes out and asks the monkey if they want to help the crew, which they gladly agree to.

Then the crew went out and found Cricket and the monkey. Cricket tells them how to ride and also stories about darkness during the day because it is related.

"Wait for the old man, those clouds have always been around for hundreds of years and always block the sunlight. Then, could it be that it was much denser than any cloud. But if the clouds don't spread or become rain, it means the clouds won't turn into water. Is it crystallizing there, or is something blocking the process from raining?" - Jon

They all thought about it, but some people just gave up. Well, only Jon, Nami, Robin, and Cricket thought about it. Suddenly Jon got a surprising theory.

"Wait, could the sky island be that cloud? The only thing that can fly in space and become an island is the clouds. It is very large, but it must be solid. It can therefore block sunlight, as it is very dense. Sunlight cannot pass through solid objects unless it is transparent. And that giant shadow, I think it's the sky man." - Jon

"REALLY? YAHOO!!" - Luffy's

"W-what do you mean the sky people are such monsters?" - Usopp

"No long-nose-kun, if what Mr. Ninja says is true, then the giant shadow is the shadow of the sky of people. Maybe they're as normal in size as we are, but because they're closer to the sun, their shadows are so much bigger." - Robin

"If my theory is correct, then when the sky is dark during the day, it is the time when the sky island is directly above us. So when the knock-up stream happens at that point, if we ride it, we'll get there." - Jon

Others became more hesitant to hear this, but then Cricket delivered the bad news.

"But if your theory is wrong then you will fall into the sea from thousands of meters up there." - Cricket

Now Usopp panicked and asked Luffy to cancel their plan but of course Luffy would not hear it. Then Usopp, for fear of starting to question Cricket and accusing his motives, even brought Norland. But Cricket was silent and looked very calm.

"The knock-up river is going to happen south of here. Maybe not 100% but the odds are high. I'm happy to meet idiots like you after all this time. Now, let's eat at my house." - Crickets

Cricket does not correct or reject Usopp's words. He just told them about the knock-up stream. Believe it or not, it's up to them.

"Nami, am I a coward?" - Usopp

"That's right, and also an idiot. Don't forget to apologize." - Nami

Usopp then cried and apologized to Cricket, but the scene was really funny, because Cricket did not like Usopp's nose touching his body. And then of course, they party.
