Chapter 9 The Shrimp
Jiu Shen's eyes were greeted by a world scene filled with dense true essence. It was so thick it even left its pores open, greedily sucking in the true essence around it.
He stopped himself from cultivating though with regret. He then walked towards the clear pond with the giant shrimp swimming. They look healthy and plump.
With a high quality living environment, this Master Shrimp will definitely feel heavenly.
Jiu Shen caught one Overlord Shrimp with a casual sweep in his right hand. The two-meter-tall shrimp thrashed his body, but Jiu Shen's grip was tight. He then pulled it out of the pond which produced a trail of clear water droplets.
– Ding!
– It is better to fry the shrimp while it is still alive because the muscles will be tight and tight, which in turn will result in a crispier texture when fried.
“Healthy boiler!” Jiu Shen smiled faintly as he glanced at the plump shrimp. The Shrimp Master glared at Jiu Shen and brandished his claws at him. The stripping and deveining of the shrimp was already etched inside his head.
The knowledge of how to cook the Fry Shrimp Tempura Dipped into the Chilean Magma Viper reappeared inside his head.
“To peel raw shrimp, I have to start from the bottom, where their legs are attached.” After peeling off the shrimp carapace, Jiu Shen skillfully held the giant shrimp with one hand while making a shallow gap in the middle of the back to reveal the black intestine. He then used the tip of his knife to remove the shrimp's black intestine.
He then threw the shrimp into the air and cut it into countless small pieces. The shrimp cube filled the large bowl in his hand. He was then placed back on the cutting board, before pulling two machetes.
He grinds shrimp meat using two machetes like a barbarian. His actions were rough and wild, but contained a sense of charm.
He then heated the garmosa oil to the right temperature, before stirring the top quality flour of the Gremory Kingdom together with some imperial cornstarch, and salt made from the Heavenly Wind Sea in a large bowl.
He then made a depression in the middle of the flour. Next, he added the pure spring water, and the yolk of the rank 5 beast, the Light Wind Sparrow. She then mixed only until moistened before stirring the egg whites.
Next, he carefully dipped all the crescent-shaped shrimp meat into the batter and coated it completely. Jiu Shen maintained his focus while doing this part.
It is very important to coat the shrimp meat completely as it will greatly affect the taste of the dish.
He then ground a piece of the Chilean Magma Viper. Its appearance was menacing as if it was a poisonous spice, but strangely, it was edible. The purplish-red chili emitted a terrifying light right after it was pounded.
He then sprinkled the Chili Magma Viper that had been mashed into the shrimp meat. He sprinkled it evenly on all sides to balance the spiciness.
Lastly, he fried the shrimp meat on top of the hot garmosa oil. A crackling sound echoed within the kitchen as Jiu Shen fried the shrimp.
Not long after, a fragrant aroma seeped into the kitchen before spreading into his shop. The delicious smell lingered for a long time while attacking the nasal cavities of the mercenaries.
The smell was indescribable, containing a hint of freshness and a hint of a strong taste.
“The tantalizing aroma.” Boss Scar muttered to himself while licking his lips with a drunken expression.
Other mercenaries are worse. Saliva lines flowed on their lips as they glanced towards the source of the smell.
Even the sleeping Liu Xiufeng woke up. His nose twitched before his eyes opened. He looked to the left and to the right to look for the smell.
They did not need to wait for long as Jiu Shen came out of the kitchen holding a hot plate filled with fried shrimp. The coating is beautiful and there is even a spicy sauce made from ground Chilean Magma Viper and shrimp meat oil and a little vinegar.
“This order Tempura Fried Shrimp Dipped in Viper Magma Chili.” Jiu Shen nonchalantly spoke while giving the hot plate piping to the mercenaries who ordered the dish.
The mercenary's eyes sparkled like stars after seeing Jiu Shen come out with a plate. They were already very anxious to know the taste, but they held back
Their friend used most of his savings to order dishes in hopes of breaking into the next realm.
Even though Jiu Shen was confident about the breakthrough of the mercenaries, he still wanted to see through the process. He grabbed a seat randomly before sitting in front of the mercenaries leisurely.
“Please feel. Our bets are still in effect. If you do not make a breakthrough after eating this dish, then you will get it for free.” Jiu Shen confidently spoke while staring at the excited mercenary.
