Ch.133 - Birthday

Since the Dou Huang affair had been completed, Fu Chen had intended to go to the Noble Xiao family to make sure his plan went smoothly. Dou Huang let the young man go, he himself was quite hopeful that the Xiao noble family kept a map of the Eastern continent.

Fu Chen was dressed like a typical person, on the way to the Xiao family residence, Fu Chen had thought about what kind of conversation he should talk about later.

Although Fu Chen had been quite close to the Xiao family but that did not mean that the family would fulfill his request easily.

Upon arrival in front of the gate of the Nobles residence, a guard there immediately stopped Fu Chen upon seeing the young man begin to approach.

"Enough, this place cannot be entered by just anyone" said the guard as he approached Fu Chen.

Fu Chen looked at the guard for a while, then reached into something in his shirt pocket.

"What's your business coming here, son?"

"I want to pay a visit to the Xiao family, I heard that if an outsider wants to enter this region, he must hand over a badge from one of the noble families. Is this enough?"

Fu Chen thrust out an identifying mark from his shirt pocket. The badge he got from Xiao Jung a few months ago, Xiao Jung handed him the badge as a sign of his gratitude because Fu Chen had healed his father.

"I-this_! Where'd you get it?" The guard was a little incredulous, moreover Fu Chen was just an ordinary boy who seemed to have no special background.

Realizing that his partner had a little difficulty, one guard who was still relaxing came to Fu Chen.

"Ah, Young master Chen. I didn't expect to see you again." The guard slightly lowered his head, he had found out that Fu Chen had a pretty close relationship with the Xiao family, so there was no harm in calling this child the Young Master.

"Young Master? What are you talking about?" The previous guard nearly choked on his own saliva when his partner said that.

His colleague then explained that he had known Fu Chen since a few months ago. He himself wondered why the Xiao family could be so close to this young man, but he assumed that this young man was no ordinary person.

"Have you guys finished talking? So am I allowed in or not?" Fu Chen let out a long sigh while pointing towards the gate.

"Sure, of course, I will escort you all the way to the Xiao family residence," said the guard who already knew Fu Chen with an awkward smile.

Fu Chen was then taken by horse carriage to the Xiao family residence, the guard thought Fu Chen's arrival was to partake in celebrating the birthday of Xiao Ji, Xiao Jung's youngest brother.

Fu Chen himself had only learned of this, perhaps this could be a good reason to visit the Xiao family but he had not prepared any gifts for the boy.

"Do I have to take some heirlooms from the Earth's ring? But I don't know what the kid likes." Fu Chen pondered as he stroked his chin, perhaps he would pick his gift after seeing the gifts from the people there.

"Isn't this too much?" Fu Chen smiled wryly as he found quite a number of horse carriages that had been neatly arranged around the courtyard of the Xiao family residence.

"Isn't this natural? The entire extended family of the Xiao aristocrat was gathering right now, they also invited other Nobles into this event." The guard who was now the coachman replied.

Fu Chen smiled bitterly hearing her, "Come to the Royal Highness's birthday in clothes like this?" Fu Chen let out a long sigh when he saw his own appearance "Where are you going to put my face?"

Fu Chen started scratching his non-itchy head, it seemed like he was taking the show of these Nobles too lightly. Events like this will usually be a place to show off their wealth to each other, of course it is not a place that can be entered by ordinary people.

"Damn it, do I have to ask the teacher to buy clothes first? But this place is already too far away from out there, after all would the teacher bother to buy me clothes?" Fu Chen let out a long breath.

The young man became lethargic, especially when people began to look at the horse carriage he was riding nonstop. Fu Chen could hear some ominous sentences coming out from the mouths of those people.

"Young Master, we've arrived…"

"Em Wait a minute," Fu Chen replied from inside the horse carriage, from his voice the young man seemed to be doing something.

The guard who looked at Fu Chen's appearance who was already far different from before to coughed, he wondered where this young man had gotten his clothes from.

The robe that Fu Chen was wearing was actually a protective heirloom that he had obtained from the Earth ring. The robe can adjust its size to that of the wearer so that it looks harmonious when Fu Chen wears it.

Although it was a little awkward but Fu Chen was trying to be confident and walk among the nobles who were relaxing in the courtyard garden of the Xiao noble house. His body trembled slightly as it was unusual to be the center of attention like this.

"What family is that young man from? I haven't seen his face in years."

"Aren't the clothes amazing? He looks so dignified in those clothes."

"Curtain! It was just the outside, maybe the boy accidentally found the clothes out there."

Fu Chen took a deep breath, if in hindsight his background was also not inferior to these nobles. It could probably be said to be one level above them, so Fu Chen did not need to feel like a despicable person in this place.

"Brother Chen?" call out a young man from the courtyard of the house, his face engraved with a wide smile as he found out who had come.

"Hm?" Fu Chen slightly tilted his head, "Who are you?"

The young man who approached Fu Chen almost choked on his own breath, "You don't remember me?"

"I remember, but I can't tell which one is Xiao Yin and which one is Xiao Yan." Fu Chen smiled awkwardly, from the start he had indeed found it difficult to tell the two apart.

"Ah so yes," Xiao Yin smiled wryly, despite being a few years older than Fu Chen but he did not consider Fu Chen to be younger than him. Actually he admired Fu Chen enough especially when he found out this young man was healing his father.

"Brother Yin, why are you here? And who else is this young man?" said a 14-year-old young man as he approached Xiao Yin. The young man came with two of his friends, wearing a green robe with a white shirt.

"I'm sorry Brother Tae, but I'm welcoming a guest, so I'll accompany you later."

The young man named Lee Camel knit his brows slightly, his gaze slightly uncomfortable as he watched Fu Chen. He was the son of one of the elders in the Lee family, seeing Xiao Yin deem him no taller than this young man slightly offended him.

"Is your sister inside? I want to congratulate you on your birthday." Fu Chen ignored Lee Camel's existence, he slightly disliked being around these haughty people.

"Yes he's inside, do you want to see him?"

"Yes, if I can I also want to meet senior Xiao.." Fu Chen and Xiao Yin then stepped their feet, but Fu Chen's steps came to a halt when a hand held onto his shoulder.

"Who told you to go? You don't know yourself!" Lee Camel reached onto Fu Chen's shoulder with his left hand from behind.

Fu Chen glanced at Lee Camel's hand for a moment before looking at the young man, coldly, "Who are you that dares to touch me?"

Lee Camel was almost provoked by emotion, but she immediately pulled her hand back as she felt Fu Chen's gaze intimidate her body. The young man took a few steps back while furrowing his brows.

"You-you!" hiss Lee Camel with bated breath.

"Relax brother Chen, he didn't mean anything," Xiao Yin immediately withdrew Fu Chen's hand with a bitter smile, he didn't want any commotion at this event.

"It's gonna start in a little while, so we'd better find a good place to watch it."

Xiao Yin said that the core event of his sister's birthday would be done outdoors for everyone to see. So Xiao Yin brought Fu Chen to one of the tables that were already reserved for the guests.

Lee Camel stared at Fu Chen sharply from a distance, all this time no one dared to look at him with a gaze like Fu Chen did. He promised to avenge the young man no matter what.

"Find out who that brat is, I'll teach him a lesson if he doesn't apologize to me right away!"
