Ch.95 - Training

Fu Chen thought for a moment to determine the best option before leaving the bamboo forest. In view of this little weed alone Fu Chen slightly understood that outside the bamboo forest this was quite dangerous.

"In case we better not split up, the forest must be more dangerous than it seems." Fu Chen asked the opinions of his two friends who were then answered with a nod of the head by Sin Lou and Kyoto.

Kyoto felt that Fu Chen could be relied upon at a time like this because he also wondered why the task of Li Chun sounded so easy.

"Alright, don't get excited!" Fu Chen jumped across the river and followed Sin Lou and Kyoto.

The three young men entered into the forest, Fu Chen used his sword to slash at the weeds blocking them. Fu Chen chose not to go into the deeper parts of the forest, other than not wanting to lose his way he wanted to see the upper reaches of the river.

"Hmm, brother Chen, why don't we just go into the forest? Aren't there more animals to hunt?" Kyoto wanted to know what Fu Chen was up to because the boy seemed to understand something.

"We're going to find the source of the water first, after all that guy didn't tell us to hunt in the forest, right?" Fu Chen replied casually.

"Ah, yes you're right." Kyoto smiled bitterly.

Sin Lou just silently listened, he still imagined a bunch of terrible fish in the river. Sin Lou thought that his hand would be the same fate as that leaf if he put it in.

Because the day was still fairly early, they managed to find some jungle chickens in less than an hour. Fu Chen gave a sign to be careful and pay attention to their steps.

"What-what's up?" Sin Lou wanted to ask but was immediately restrained by Kyoto using his hands.

Kyoto asks Sin Lou to shut up for a moment because Fu Chen is stalking their quarry. Kyoto also took notice, there were seven chickens and that was more than enough for dinner even though they didn't need it too much.

"Kyoto, did you bring your dagger?" Fu Chen asked without distracting from his prey.

"Yes," Kyoto replied then took out a few daggers.

"Good, then please aim for the chickens, I'll catch the ones trying to escape." After saying so Fu Chen immediately parted ways and came to the place he had calculated.

Kyoto took a breath, preparing the three daggers in his hand to aim at the chickens. When he felt calm, Kyoto immediately threw the three daggers.

Woosh!

One of the three daggers managed to hit the target but due to the surprise attack the other chickens became panicked and scattered. Fu Chen who had calculated it swiftly caught the two chickens in both hands.

"Fyuh, the first task is done," Kyoto smiled broadly then approached Fu Chen and picked up the chicken and dagger he threw.

Fu Chen tied up the chicken and handed it to Sin Lou. "Bring this!" fu Chen said with a meaningful smile.

At first Sin Lou was a little perotes but Fu Chen said it was his duty because he did nothing to catch the chicken.

"Hows it? Fair, right?" Fu Chen shrugged both of his shoulders while smiling faintly.

"Cih, fine whatever you want." Sin Lou snorted softly while carrying three chickens including the Kyoto conversation.

As he walked further, the three young men finally found the river. The river turned out to come from a high waterfall with a fairly swift flow of water.

The three young men tried to approach him but as they tried to get closer to the waterfall, there was a kind of terrifying pressure stopping their steps.

Sin Lou and Kyoto gulped violently, feeling saved because Fu Chen was always on guard.

"Have seen it, right? We can only take water from the little pools around here." Fu Chen handed Sin Lou a wooden bucket that he had brought, then filled his bucket with water to the brim.

"Didn't the fish get to this place…? Ah, nevermind. I think they're the kind of fish that live in such currents." Fu Chen did not want to think about it any further then asked his friend to come closer.

"What's wrong?" Sin Lou asked.

"We will recuperate for a moment in this place, the qi energy here is quite dense, I don't think it will take long to restore our stamina." Fu Chen asked Sin Lou and Kyoto to hurry up.

Sin Lou and Kyoto obeyed Fu Chen's wishes, they sat cross-legged in a slightly distant place. The qi energy started flowing in their bodies slowly and kept their bodies in tip-top shape.

Fu Chen was grateful that one of his guesses was correct, now that his concern was the workings of the pressure that existed in the bamboo forest. If his guess was correct, then it would be the hardest hurdle for this task. Moreover, they must keep the water they carry so as not to spill.

After feeling better they return to the starting position as they depart. Fu Chen asked his two friends to be vigilant and careful.

"What's wrong with you? Since then always ask us to be careful when nothing happens." Sin Lou felt that Fu Chen was too afraid of the situation to make him too vigilant.

"If you're afraid then I'll go first, daah.." Sin Lou went ahead of Fu Chen casually.

"Dark-" Fu Chen wanted to stop Sin Lou but he was late, the boy had already jumped across the river.

"Look! Hahaha.. you coward! From now on I'll be the leader." Sin Lou laughed widely while puffing his chest, while Fu Chen felt disbelief at what he saw.

"Have it, I know you're worried that the pressure is still there but last night you felt it too right? That pressure has disappeared since we entered Uncle Li's residence." Kyoto gently patted Fu Chen on the shoulder and then overtook Sin Lou.

"Uncle?" Fu Chen muttered softly, not believing if they were that easy to trust others.

Sin Lou then led the way as they had gathered in the bamboo forest. Kyoto had a glance at Fu Chen who kept thinking about the performance of pressure in this forest. Kyoto didn't understand why the boy was so worried about it.

"Oh. You guys got here sooner than I thought." Li Chun greeted them with a soft clap.

"Hahaha, of course, it's all because I lead them." Sin Lou silenced a wide smile as he crossed both hands in front of his chest.

"Haha..then follow me, we'll go to the actual training ground." Li Chun picked up three chickens that Sin Lou had brought before going to his destination.

While Fu Chen was still pondering over his mindset that was always thinking about the worst possible. Perhaps Sin Lou was right if he was too scared with the surroundings, yet Fu Chen had a burden that could not make him act recklessly.

"Hmm... How's the boy? After this you should think of a way to get their trust back." Li Chun glanced at Fu Chen with a faint smile.

Previously Li Chun had indeed intended to put that pressure back on but after considering Fu Chen's intelligence, Li Chun found it less attractive if the Tang descendant boy found the answer too easy, therefore he removed the pressure and made Sin Lou and Kyoto not listen to him anymore.

Li Chun asked Fu Chen, Sin Lou and Kyoto to demonstrate the new style they mastered and he would give a little direction to improve it. Actually Li Chun did not intend to do so but for the sake of outwitting Fu Chen, he had planned something interesting!
