Legend of the Heavenly Swordsman

Legend of the Heavenly Swordsman
Ch.1 - New Things

The next day, Fu Chen was confused because of the large number of people gathered in the field near the Village Chief's house. Not usually people would gather like that.

Out of curiosity Fu Chen finally approached the crowd, it turned out there was also Sin Lou who was his close friend until he considered like family.

"You don't know that?" asked Sin Lou in astonishment.

"Of course... I even just got here, what's the matter?" reply Fu Chen astonishment.

"You know, one more year the Sacred Sword Sect will conduct a selection of new disciples in our Village!"

"Ehh... and then?" asked Fu Chen who still did not understand.

"Huh…? Are you stupid? Of course this is big news! The Sacred Sword Sect was one of the middle Sects that even said almost matched a large Sect in the Profound World…"

The Falling Star Village had never before received the attention of any sect, the arrival of the Holy Sword Sect to their Village would make the development of the Village a little faster.

"Isn't that long? Why do people still gather here if the information has been conveyed?" Fu Chen thought that if the announcement was over then there was nothing else for them to wait and heat up here.

Sin Lou sighed hearing the question. The Sacred Sword Sect had deliberately informed earlier for this Village to have a mature preparation before the selection arrived.

"And the reason the citizens are still gathered there is probably they are gossiping and seeing the swordsman painting that will represent the Sacred Sword Scete here."

"Are you going to participate yourself?" Fu Chen asked him because he saw Sin Lou who was so enthusiastic when explaining this to him.

"of course! I will boast of both of my parents and get a lot of attention from the village girls, or even the girls who are in the Sacred Sword Sect will also be interested in seeing me." Sin Lou closed his eyes, imagining a career that would be so extraordinary.

'Who exactly taught this kid to think of such a thing?' Fu Chen said inwardly while smiling wryly, he felt ashamed of having a perverted brained friend.

Feeling that there was enough of an answer to his curiosity, Fu Chen left the place and walked towards his father's garden to help and convey what he had just heard.

In the evening the atmosphere of the village was very different from usual, many torches were lit on the roadside. The villagers also looked more cheerful, many houses had small parties that night and there was also a group of young men who hummed loudly celebrating the selection that had not even started it.

Fu Chen who walked with Tang Shu was astonished by this unusual sight. "Dad... does living in the martial world really please him? Look at! They had even celebrated it when the selection was still one year away" Fu Chen said while watching his surroundings.

Tang Shu who found the question smiled slightly. "Chen'er, this martial world and the World we live in are one and the same place. They live on Earth, and so do we."

"Earth?" Fu Chen tilted his head.

Tang Shu chuckled and heard Fu Chen's innocent reply. From Tang Shu's explanation, the Earth is divided into five large landmasses and vast waters that separate the five continents, he is called an ocean.

Fu Chen seemed to still think about his father's words.

"The five continents have names that correspond to their respective locations, the first is the Middle Continent, then the North Continent, the West Continent, the East Continent and the last is the South Continent…"

Tang Shu explained that the largest continent was the middle continent, followed by the northern and western continents. While the smallest continent of the five continents is the Southern Continent which has the coldest climate.

There was one among the three empires in the Eastern Continent that was said to be quite weak. The empire was named Meng Empire which controlled the southern part of the eastern continent. Despite being the weakest, no other empire attempted to seize their territory.

"Why can that be, Dad?" cut Fu Chen off for the broadcast.

"That's because the Meng Empire has so many Black Stream groups, where they are also many dangerous demons that other empires don't want to fight over the territory."

But with all such pressure, in fact they could still defend his Empire. Wasn't that enough proof that the Empire was actually strong enough?

Fu Chen nodded in understanding his father's words. "Then we lived in the Empire which father?

"We live in the Song Empire, Chen'er, His Majesty the Emperor himself is quite an influential person in this Eastern Continent, therefore our country is spared from conflict with other Empires."

"Ehh... What is the difference between the two schools you mentioned?" Fu Chen rubbed the nape of his neck in astonishment, he was a little confused by his father's explanation of this one.

"Ehh, you know this too, for they are all equally human. But you don't have to think about it now, I'm sure you'll find out for yourself." Tang Shu smiled awkwardly.

Fu Chen was disappointed to hear that answer.

"However there are better things you know about Chen'er first," Suhut Tang Shu returned.

"What's that?" fu Chen said a little indifferently, he was already disappointed with his father.

"You should know, that in our Empire there are five noble families who are powerful enough in terms of government and trade, but there are also noble families who have the offspring of a swordsman."

"really? Isn't everything the Empire's care of?" Tang Fu Chen asked as he glanced towards his father.

"That's true, but if only His Majesty the Emperor himself takes care of it then he won't be able to," Tang Shu replied and smiled blandly.

"These five noble families are among others the Song noble family, which is the Imperial family itself…"

Then there is the family of the Su Nobles, their descendants are great scholars in our country, some of them are the higher-ups of the Kingdom. Next there was Nobles Xiao as well as Nobles Lee, they had their own roles in the Kingdom.

While the Huang Nobles family, they are known to sell the resources needed for warriors, but because of the quality and price that is not suitable to make their business decline. Hal made the Huang Royal Family on the stamp as the weakest of the five noble families.

Fu Chen seemed to nod his head, but from the look on his face he still looked so serious. "I understand"

"Originally you know. Our Village Chief is one of the subordinates of the noble Su family. Our village can expand so far too thanks to the help they provide."

"I just found out about it" Fu Chen replied.

Tang Shu seemed to be smiling gently then rubbed his hand against Fu Chen's head. "It's natural that Chen'er, you're too young to know things."

Fu Chen raised his head and looked towards Tang Shu, he intended to ask a few other things but Tang shu spoke first.

"Here you go, the better we go home. The night is also getting late, this is not good for your health. I'll answer your question next time." Tang Shu realized his son still had many questions, yet he also wanted to rest and see his beautiful wife.
