Ch.97 - Li Han's Demon Forest

The three young men swam as fast as they could in a panic, even accidentally swallowing the lake water. While crocodiles are gathering more and more because of the splash of water they produce.

"You two hurry! The crocodiles are getting closer!" Sin Lou who was in the rear row was forced to keep his feet so as not to be greedy by the crocodile behind him.

The position of the three young men was actually not too to the middle of the lake but the depth of water reaching the human chest made them difficult to move, let alone to fight the herd of crocodiles.

Fu Chen who was about to reach the outskirts of the lake started to pedal his hands even faster. Upon arriving at the shallow area Fu Chen immediately drew his sword and asked Sin Lou and Kyoto to move quickly.

"Don't look back! I'll hold them." Fu Chen immediately put up the horses then flowed the qi into his sword.

The moment the sword had been coated in Fu Chen's qi energy then began to make several moves before slashing his sword towards the crocodile herd.

Streams of qi energy rushed out quietly before hitting one of the crocodiles and making one of his eyes hurt. Fu Chen not only did one attack, the subsequent slashes then made the herd of crocodiles in the front row flounder until several crocodiles behind him were forced to stop.

"Hurry up!" Fu Chen grabbed Sin Lou's hand and Kyoto then sheathed his sword back. The three youths were still unable to rest and had to immediately find a safe place.

Kyoto's breathing began to disorganize after running far enough, although his stamina was still enough but this too sudden incident made him unprepared. "T-tungu, I think this is enough." said Kyoto who saw no more crocodiles chasing.

"Well you're right." Sin Lou stopped his steps while breathing again. Sin Lou was relieved that he thought he would die inside this forest.

Fu Chen watched around and it turned out that they were still deep within the forest, the possibility of the emergence of another threat was still very high. "We must rush to the outskirts of the forest, this place is still dangerous."

"Ah, let us rest for a moment." Sin Lou took a deep breath and threw it away slowly.

"Huh shit, all this happened also because of you," Fu Chen snorted softly, "Then which bear do you want to catch?"

Sin Lou laughed awkwardly while scratching his non-itchy cheeks at Fu Chen's question. "The money turned out to be bigger than I thought so I paused the intention to arrest him."

"Basic," Fu Chen sighed softly, "Hurry up, we'll be leaving soon."

After squeezing the water in their robes Kyoto accidentally saw one large tree with some fresh fruit decorating it. Kyoto then whispered that to Sin Lou.

"You sure? Where's where?" Sin Lou could not believe that in the middle of a forest like this there were plants that produced a lot of fruit.

Kyoto then pointed to one side of the forest, Sin Lou's gaze following Kyoto's hand then a smile began to expand on his face.

Fu Chen also saw what Kyoto pointed to, his eyebrows slightly raised when he realized that so many peaches were ready for harvest.

Sin Lou immediately walked towards the peach tree but his steps stopped because of being held back by Fu Chen, "Wait a minute"

"I know, I'll be careful" said Sin Lou cutting Fu Chen's words.

Fu Chen sighed softly, feeling that the current Sin Lou had always done as he pleased, Fu Chen could only hope that nothing troublesome would happen later.

When they got there Sin Lou had noticed the peach tree and its surroundings, there was nothing suspicious of him other than a sleeping monkey with pure white fur.

Sin Lou took a few steps back slowly, his premonition saying the monkey was very dangerous if he woke up.

"Shhhh!!" Sin Lou stuck his finger in front of his lips with his eyes bulging, then he pointed towards the white monkey that was on top of the tree.

"Remember! In the count of three we'll jump and pick up the fruit." Sin Lou then asked Fu Chen and Kyoto to choose the closest fruit, at least he wanted each of them to get one peach.

"One, two, three…"

The three youths jumped quite high simultaneously, their hands managed to grab the peaches they had chosen. The branches of the peach tree swayed quite strongly as they managed to grab a peach that was the size of the three fists of the adult man.

"Run!!" Sin Lou exclaimed loudly, the three youths then ran as fast as possible before the white monkey guarding the fruit realized their existence.

Due to the strong shaking and the loud screams of Sin Lou, the white monkey awoke from his sleep, surprised that some of his peaches disappeared and did not find the thief.

"Uu, u Aaa.. Aaaa!!" the white monkey was full of annoyance.

"Hahaha.." Sin Lou let out a big laugh as the white monkey's shout sounded quite loud when they were a good distance away.

Feeling the white monkey was not chasing them Fu Chen asked his two friends to immediately get out of the forest. Fu Chen was worried that there would be a greater danger waiting for them if it took too long in this place.

Meanwhile Li Chun and Li Han were still waiting for the arrival of Fu Chen and his friends while playing chess. They had argued several times about Fu Chen's abilities and background but only lasted for a moment and refocused themselves on the game.

"Do you want to hear my real plan?" Li Chun wanted to switch the conversation because he was annoyed that he never won.

Li Han laughed softly at Li Chun's words, "What is that?"

Li Chun smiled faintly, "Actually I have released a seal in this forest that cages the stealth of your catch. Wish they could come back alive."

"Are you crazy? How about if those demons enter the sect residence?" Li Han patted his forehead as he shook his head slowly, inexhaustible with the contents of Li Chun's head, it was possible that this person would risk the safety of a sect disciple just for the sake of a test of his own.

"Just calm down, I've arranged everything. I will be in charge if there are one or two demons coming out, but they will not come back alive, haha.." Li Chun smiled in satisfaction while stroking his chin.

While Li Han only sighed softly and did not want to bother about it, after all Li Chun was not a child acting recklessly. At least he can take responsibility for his actions later.

"Then shouldn't our bet be changed as well?" Li Han made an offer, "I bet Chen'er will be safe and arrive at this residence before nightfall."

"Chen'er?" Li Chun chuckled softly, "If they don't make it to this residence before night then I'm the winner."

Li Han nodded slowly before again inviting Li Chun to continue the game. Li Han had known Fu Chen for quite a while, at least since the boy had joined the Sacred Sword sect he had never given up on his goal. Once Fu Chen found out about something then he would understand it to the very end.

Without feeling Fu Chen and the others had spent five hours inside the forest. Various kinds of strange beasts had chased after them several times to make Fu Chen slightly lose his way.

After exiting the forest they immediately approached towards the waterfall to clean themselves in the small pond around it. On this occasion Fu Chen asked Sin Lou to obey his orders before returning to the bamboo forest later.

Fu Chen felt that Li Chun had started the actual test today, because four days earlier they had not found even dealing with the herd of demons in that forest.

Fu Chen's only concern so far was the pressure in the bamboo forest that weighed heavily on him. Especially if he had to help Sin Lou and Kyoto at once.
