Mortal To Immortal (Book 1)

Mortal To Immortal (Book 1)
MTI 014 - Teachers and Students

Just as Yao Han was about to prostrate three times to Feng Xian as a teacher and disciple appointment ceremony, the man stopped him.

Feng Xian rejected the formalities and changed his manners. He asked Yao Han to sit in front of him, then placed his palm over Yao Han's head.

"From today on, I, Feng Xian raised you, Yao Han as my disciple." Feng Xian's words sounded so steady.

Yao Han felt great pleasure. Not only was Feng Xian the savior of his life, but his teacher as well. Now he was a disciple of a top alchemist of the Blue Moon Continent.

Yao Han cupped his hands and slightly bowed, "Murid Yao saluted Master Feng..."

"I don't really like formal things and excessive respect. So act like you normally do."

"Murid understands, Teacher." Yao Han smiled widely.

Meirong and Yutian who were looking from the side were stunned. They were also happy that Yao Han was raised by Feng Xian. They had not expected the East Wind to finally have a disciple at nearly a thousand years of age.

"About what was the reaction of the outside world knowing Senior Feng had disciples?"

"Some one will believe it or not. But it will be thrilling..."

Yao Han only smiled faintly at their conversation, while Feng Xian displayed a flat face unconcernedly, 'What is the importance of knowing the world's reaction to me?'

"Xiao Han, even if you are diligent in learning the basics of alchemy, you have not forgotten your cultivation practice. That's good," praised Feng Xian.

Yao Han's Qi's radiance felt increasingly stronger. Now his disciple was in the fifth level of the Basic Realm for fire elemental spirit roots, wood, and water.

Raising the practice to that level within six months was no easy feat, especially since he did not take pills. He absorbed the Qi naturally and a small portion of the incoming Qi came from the honey grass he ate.

Feng Xian then took out a small nine-level blood-red pagoda, "Take this, consider it a gift because you are diligent in training and officially become my disciple."

Yao Han received the little pagoda slightly hesitating, "What is the function of this thing, Master?" The pagoda was emitting a strange air.

Feng Xian replied, Yutian's voice was heard.

"That's a damned thing..."

"Eh?" Yao Han immediately looked perplexed, if Yutian said so why did Feng Xian give the thing to him.

"Based on ugly snakes, don't say anything that makes a misunderstanding." Meirong clucked in annoyance and then hit Yutian on the head.

"That's not a cursed thing, or at least this ugly snake that thinks of it that way... Han'er, you still remember our story that was locked up in an object, right?"

Yao Han nodded slowly, "Don't that thing be this pagoda?"

"Yes..."

Before being in Feng Xian's hands, the pagoda was kept by Meirong. He found the object while stopping in a cave to rest for a while on his way out of the sect.

After the golden lightning struck Meirong and Yutian who stopped the fight of the two, somehow, the pagoda came out from the ring of Meirong space, then sucked and locked the two away.

Meirong did not have time to think about the oddity due to loss of consciousness. When he woke up he and Yutian were already in the form of spirit beasts.

"We who were confused by our condition then heard a faint voice, which said that one day we would be free. After twelve years of waiting, the time had finally come..."

The pagoda was later discovered by Feng Xian in the same place where Meirong first discovered it.

Yao Han observed the red pagoda for a moment, "So... what does this strange object do?"

"If my guess is correct, this thing is the entrance of a pocket simensi." Feng Xian argued as he stroked the beard, "Only this one pocket dimension is special enough..."

The pocket dimension was another world hidden from the sight of ordinary humans or cultivators. The area was not very large and was still connected to the Blue Moon Continent. Usually in the pocket dimension there are rare resources, heirlooms, spirit animals or demons.

The entrance of the pocket dimension was like a huge gate that exuded the power of space and time. After successfully mastered, will change the shape of various sizes. The Meirong and Yutian origin sects also had some precious pocket dimensions.

Feng Xian then asked Yao Han to drip blood on the red pagoda. Yao Han bit his thumb until it bled and then dripped it onto the pagoda.

The pagoda reacted, emitting a slightly dim red light and buzzing. Then a small speck of light touched Yao Han's forehead, making the two of them connect with each other.

Feng Xian's countenance and the two spirit beasts became solemn. They were worried that something might happen to Yao Han. Just as Feng Xian wanted to act, that point of light disappeared.

"Teacher, I got the picture when the light touched my forehead."

"Oh, what is it?"

Yao Han recounted that in his mind he saw there was a slightly fertile adult man, probably the age of Feng Xian.

The man seemed to be talking to her, saying that he found a unique pocket dimension. He managed to master those pocket dimensions and change the composition of that dimensional space into a pagoda just like Yao Han saw now.

After hearing Yao Han's story, Meirong and Yutian looked at each other, thinking of something, "From his physical features, isn't that Senior Chen? He was able to make a pocket-dimensional entrance as he pleased?"

"Senior Feng, what do you think?"

Feng Xian smiled faintly, "The Dragon Old Master does indeed possess that ability. He likes to wander and try extreme things, no wonder he has this weird thing."

Simply put, the pagoda includes unique heirlooms and can be said to be versatile. The excess can be stored in the limbs. Yao Han tried to keep it on his forehead.

"Gee, it worked!" yao Han. On Yao Han's forehead was a small red line.

"Interesting..." Feng Xian smiled faintly.

Yao Han touched his forehead, the pagoda reappeared. When checked there was nothing inside the Dimension Pagoda.

"Such "pocket dimensions can be developed. If it is filled with resources that contain Qi, then its area and Qi levels can increase," explained Meirong.

As they were still confined in the Dimension Pagoda, the dimension was as vast as a small town and its Qi content was not up to one-tenth the Qi level of Star Moon Island.

"The first time we realized that we had changed into spirit animals, our practice was in the seventh level of the Basic Realm. A prodigy was able to rise to the eleventh level within twelve years in a place with an insignificant Qi level."

"I don't think the Old Dragon will mind you being the owner of this thing."

Note:

For those who are unfamiliar with the term Pocket Dimension may be more familiar with the term Pocket Realm or Dimensional Realm.

The blood red pagoda and Dimension Pagoda are inspired by the novel Journey to Immortality aka JTI Kak Ron. Still remember about the Abyss Prison Pagoda being the heirloom of the entrance of the Abyss Prison Realm right, huh?
