Mortal To Immortal (Book 1)
MTI 024 - Hunting

Meirong said the Fire Flower Sword Dance consists of nine movements, named after the first dance until the ninth dance. What Meirong showed Yao Han was the first dance move.

"Can I learn it, Master?" Yao Han was very enthusiastic because the Meirong sword movement was so beautiful.

"It's gonna be weird you learn that, Han'er. Especially because the shape of your body does not support to learn this style."

Meirong had already guessed that the answer would leave Yao Han disappointed.

"Don't worry. I will teach you other sword styles so that your sword foundation is more mature. That way, maybe you have a chance to learn this sword style."

Yao Han smiled back and nodded slowly.

"Oh, yeah. Watch this too."

Meirong raised his silver sword which was again enveloped in golden red Qi. Another sword appeared with a length of almost half Meirong's sword which was also golden red.

The number of swords that appeared was increasing, if counted nearly twenty swords surrounding Meirong's body.

"This is Sword Qi, including one part of the Fire Flower Sword Dance. Although it seems simple, to bring up Sword Qi like this requires a deep understanding of the Sword Dao..."

Meirong directed that Sword Qi into the air and formed a continuously rotating circle pattern. When it had reached a sufficient height, that set of sword Qi turned into hundreds of spark petals.

Yao Han was stunned by that 'show. The fire flower petals had slowly disappeared before reaching the ground.

"Throughout this continent, the Fire Flower Sword Dance includes the five best sword styles."

Yao Han was enthusiastic, he became excited about learning swordsmanship in order to make Sword Qi.

"Is there anything better than your sword?" yutian asked, getting into the conversation.

"So far as I know there's one... The Sky Sword King."

Yutian's face was slightly ugly when Meirong alluded to the name. Not because Yutian hated him, but because he knew this figure had once been part of a sect he hated.

"Who is the Sky Sword King?"

"His real name is Tian Jian. He is a few decades above us. He's also a Sword Cultivator like me and I think the most suitable person to teach you swordsmanship."

"More or less I agree with Rongrong, but he has been heard for decades." said Yutian.

Meirong refrained from throwing a sword at Yutian because of the name.

Feng Xian said it was time for Yao Han to find his own food. He already had enough practice and ability to protect himself from demons.

Yao Han was not alone, there was Yutian and Meirong with him. They were within the Dimension of the Pagoda. After some time Yao Han was finally able to master the blood red pagoda through Chen Long's 'hint' that entered his mind.

Uniquely Yutian and Meirong could communicate with Yao Han through the Dimension Pagoda, either directly or telepathically. Likewise with Feng Xian who had entered the strange dimension.

Long enough Yao Han entered the safe zone, but had yet to obtain a single hunt. It was not that he had not discovered this demon, but because the demon he had encountered had run away upon seeing it.

Yao Han had already met the stealth in the form of lizards, crows, and rabbits. These three types of demons instantly blurred because of their practice under Yao Han. The highest among them was only at the third level of the Basic Realm.

Yao Han did not attempt to chase them, let alone the one in which the rabbit appeared. Other than his weakest practice, it was also because Yao Han felt that the rabbit with blue fur and four ears was too cute to eat.

"Hm?"

Yao Han stopped stepping when he found the bear-shaped demon. Practice that bear on the ninth level of the Basic Realm.

"First prey.." murmured Yao Han. He appeared blatantly, distracting the bear from the fruits he ate.

"Gerrr..." The bear growled and showed its fangs, as if to signal Yao Han to leave from before him.

"I'm sorry little bear. I'm not going to make you my food, but I need you as a Dimensional Pagoda nutrition..." Yao Han was intending to find a demon that was more worthy of him eating his flesh.

'Little bear you say? You think you're great, human boy?!' That was about the curse of the bear demon if it understood Yao Han's words.

"Groaaarrr!!!"

The bear roared loudly which released shock waves. Yao Han did not know that others with the same practices as him would feel intense pain all over his body, even breaking bones to the point of vomiting blood.

From the very beginning of meeting this demon Yao Han did not relax his vigilance, he was already preparing to use the way of fighting empty-handed.

The demon straightened its body, several dozen inches above Yao Han, but the young man was not afraid, or rather suppressed his fear, as Feng Xian and Yutian's words flashed in his head.

"You want to see the world more broadly, facing a demon can't even be said to be the initial hurdle..."

"Fear of demons? It doesn't matter, but the martial arts and swordsmanship you've learned has become useless..."

The words of these two teachers made Yao Han insist on eroding his fear of demons.

Besides being taller, the bear's stealth body was quite fertile. However, his movements were quite fast as he dashed towards Yao Han. His sharp claws were ready to tear his victims apart.

Yao Han swiftly dodged, even so he had not been able to give a counterattack and continued to dodge from the swing of the sharp claws of the bear's stealth.

Gaining a gap, Yao Han unleashed a quick and hard fist on the bear's stomach and chest.

"Roaarrr!!!!"

The bear demon was getting more and more rampaging and emitting an aura that gave a goosebump.

"So this is what a murderous aura is..."

Yao Han took a deep breath then started moving again. At the same time, the demon moved as well. Yao Han nimbly dodged and was already behind the bear, then unleashed a hard blow on the neck, causing the bear to collapse.

Without wasting a chance, Yao Han beat the bear on the back of the head to the base of its tail. The bear eventually died with its bones and internal organs undergoing fatal damage.

"Fwildah..."

Yao Han's hand trembled from killing a demon the first time. So far, he has only killed mice, mosquitoes, small birds, and fish that are not stealth. Yao Han let out a long sigh of realizing he had to do it again today and in the future.

Yao Han used a sword to pry out the stealth gems. It was the size of his hand and was blood red. This round crystal also became the life center of all demons because it stored the most Qi content.

The demon body he 'saved' within the Dimension Pagoda, the two Yao Han teachers could see that dimension was absorbing the demon body as nutrition.
