Mortal To Immortal (Book 1)

Mortal To Immortal (Book 1)
MTI 223 - Dragon and Fox

Among spirit and demon beasts, the dragon race ranked at the top because its degree was the highest, no matter what kind it was. Dragons also became the most famous and sacred mythological animals besides the Phoenix. All the historical records that could be found in the Blue Moon Continent would say the same thing.

Generally, dragons have a powerful life energy and can live so long that they can be said to be immortal beings. The prowess of the dragon race could only be matched by the Phoenix race which was also considered a symbol of life energy and longevity since it could be reborn after death.

The dragon with the brownish green scales that Bing Lizi and the others saw it stopped descending and remained hovering about fifty meters above the ground. His pair of sharp eyes stared at the people below him.

His radiated aura felt domineering, a natural privilege due to his status which was often considered the leader of the entire race of spirit and demon beasts.

Bing Lizi did not originly say the dragon they saw was another figure Chen Long, because he deeply remembered one of Chen Long's wood elemental magic could make him a wooden dragon with a form similar to the dragon he saw today. The difference is only in the color.

"Senior Bing?!"

After a while, a voice echoed with a surprised tone from the dragon. Bing Lizi smiled widely as her words proved to be true. The voice belonged to none other than Chen Long who was very familiar to him.

The dragon's body emitted a bright green light and the next few breaths, the dragon's body disappeared. Instead, a man who looked to be in his thirties descended slowly and approached Bing Lizi's entourage quickly.

"You really are Senior Bing!" Chen Long exclaimed happily then laughed loudly. "It's good to see you again, Senior." Chen Long greeted after he calmed down.

"So is it with me, Brother Chen." Bing Lizi patted Chen Long on the shoulder. The man nicknamed Southern Dragon looked slightly different from his memory, but Bing Lizi did not mistakenly recognize people.

Chen Long's gaze unintentionally led to Jiu Jinyu looking at him cynically.

"You-you! How can you be free?!" Chen Long stretched out his hand which then turned into dozens of large tree roots and wrapped around Jiu Jinyu's body.

"Argh! Damn rotten dragon! Release this Queen! Release!" Jiu Jinyu shouted while trying to thrash around, but the twisting of the root of the Chen Long tree was extremely strong making it difficult to move freely.

"You don't have to get to it. He could be free because of our help as a condition to tell you where you are. He doesn't look dangerous anyway."

Chen Long sighed. "This female fox is very cunning, Senior Bing. Don't be swayed by everything he says."

"You are a crafty! All your family are cunning! This queen ordered you to release these rotten roots!"

Chen Long ignored Jiu Jinyu and turned his attention to the people who were with Bing Lizi.

Both of his eyebrows raised when he saw the alternating figures of Meirong and Yutian.

"You guys... how can it be in the same place and stand side by side quietly?" Chen Long was confused. "The most handsome man and the prettiest woman in the Blue Moon Continent, She Yutian Poison Gate of the Poison Heart Valley and Fire Sword Goddess Hong Meirong of the Sky Mountain Sect."

Meirong and Yutian saluted respectfully together.

"Junior Hong saluted Senior Chen.

"Junior She saluted Senior Chen."

Chen Long nodded slowly while trying to suppress his curiosity, then looked at the others.

"The Sky Sword King Tian Jian of the Sacred Sword Sect. What happened to your physical body?"

"It's an honor Senior Chen still remembers Junior." Tian Jian gave a respectful greeting. "My condition is a long story."

Chen Long's forehead shriveled as he looked at Bo Lang. "You are not a human being, but a spirit animal."

"Big Master Chen is right. My name is Bo Lang. My true form is the Night Wolf."

Chen Long felt strange as Bo Lang called him the Great Lord and behaved with great respect. His gaze moved on Yao Han whom he stared at for quite a long time barely flickered.

"Young man, your aura is similar to the East Wind. Who are you and what is your relationship with him?" Chen Long stood one meter in front of Yao Han.

Faced directly with Chen Long who was looking at him sharply and curiously, Yao Han could still remain calm.

"It's an honor to meet you, Ancestor Chen. This little junior is named Yao Han, East Wind Master Feng Xian's disciple."

Chen Long widened his eyes and exclaimed, "You are Senior Feng's disciple?!"

This was the first time anyone had called him Ancestor Chen, but Chen Long was more surprised by Yao Han's status. Chen Long turned his head back and asked, "Senior Bing, what exactly happened?"

Bing Lizi laughed at Chen Long's reaction. "Calm down, you'll listen to the long story."

"It's hard to calm down, Senior. East Wind finally has disciples? I never even imagined it." Chen Long was more surprised to hear about the East Wind disciple than the peculiarity of the existence of Bing Lizi and the others in that place.

Chen Long then invited everyone to sit together under the giant tree, ignoring Jiu Jinyu who did not stop struggling to be released.

"I want to hear the story clearly, in as much detail as possible, and don't cover it up. You understand, young man?"

Yao Han nodded slowly and thought for a moment to tell the beginning.

Yao Han's story was very long and long. Aside from Yao Han, Chen Long also heard stories from Meirong, Yutian, Bing Lizi, Tian Jian and Bo Lang. Chen Long let out a long sigh while massaging his head after listening to all those stories.

"All of these stories were very hard to accept even by the common sense logic of the cultivator world though. But no matter how much you deny it, it's all reality."

Chen Long laughed as if he was amused. "I, Senior Bing, Miss Hong, and you Yutian have other forms as spirit beasts. You could say this is the destiny of the heavens and the curse at the same time."

The first to respond was Jiu Jinyu. "What is the destiny of the heavens?! It was clearly a curse! You and your friend deserve it after what you did to our foxes!"

Without caring about Jiu Jinyu and her curse, Chen Long asked Yao Han.

"Young man, how did Senior Feng call you?"

"Hm, Teacher Feng used to call me a boy, then changed Xiao Han, and lately I've been called a little monster."

Chen Long again laughed, this time harder until his body was shaken violently while holding his stomach.

"It's not wrong that he called you that. As a teacher, Senior Feng was an old monster and had a small monster disciple. What a fitting name to describe you."
