Mortal To Immortal (Book 1)

Mortal To Immortal (Book 1)
MTI 032 - Living Dead

Yao Han had thought that Feng Xian had raised him as a disciple just by name, because up to five years had passed as if Feng Xian had not seen him teach him the knowledge he had promised first.

Yao Han had indeed learned Dao Painting from Feng Xian, but the development of one's knowledge was not as good as the development of other sciences. His achievements only rose a little, not at all comparable to the achievements of the sciences he learned from Meirong and Yutian.

Yao Han was then taught Dao Music and taught to play the lute. But after some time, Feng Xian found out that Yao Han was more skilled at playing other musical instruments, namely flutes. Yao Han got the jade green flute from Feng Xian.

The main thing Yao Han learned from Feng Xian was how to fight. Yao Han had already gained this experience from training alongside Meirong and Yutian, but with Feng Xian it felt very much different.

On top of the mountain peak, under the clear sky towards the end of the afternoon, two different figures of age faced each other.

"Hosh.. hosh..."

Being in a half-kneeling position, Yao Han had already sucked in his breath. Sweat filled his face and almost all parts of his body.

In front of him, Feng Xian stood leisurely with both hands behind his back, looking at Yao Han with a faint smile.

"Today's enough to get here."

Yao Han nodded slowly, then without moving his place, directly laying down on the fresh green grass. Feng Xian let him and walked towards the porch of the house.

Just now that Yao Han finished his match training with Feng Xian for the umpteenth time during the past year and every time it was done, Yao Han ended up in the same condition, experiencing tremendous fatigue.

Yao Han had to admit, training a match with Feng Xian was very different. Even he did not feel that he was training for a match, but rather a life and death fight.

Every match practice he underwent was full of torture, cornered his position, threatened his life, and inevitably had to try hard so as not to get hurt. Reverse with Feng Xian who looked relaxed without restraint or compassion on his condition.

Yao Han's complaint was completely ignored by Feng Xian and reasoned that Yao Han was used to getting into a hard fight when wandering around later.

It felt like Yao Han was crying and pouring out all the feelings he had been holding back all this time on others, but Yao Han did not find the right person. Meirong and Yutian were not with him as he was still undergoing closed-door training a second time to enter the Core Realm.

Yao Han was too tired to get up and then fell asleep in the same spot. He woke up the next day at noon after hearing a loud explosion.

BOOM!!!

"What's that?" yao Han muttered that woke up while rubbing both eyes. His heart was beating fast because of that sound.

After all his thoughts and life had gathered together, Yao Han only realized the existence of Feng Xian beside him, standing quietly while staring in one direction. Precisely forest in the area of the alert zone.

"The sound of the explosion just now was a sign of successfully entering the Core Realm." Feng Xian said without turning his head.

Yao Han got up with an enthusiastic face, "That must be Teacher Hong!" his voice answered Feng Xian's slow nod.

Meirong first underwent closed training, only one month later Yutian followed. Feng Xian provided a closed training ground in the lookout zone that was quite far from his mountain residence.

The distance between Meirong and Yutian's training ground was further than before, up to several kilometers.

The explosion followed thick smoke and dust, Yao Han was stunned because the area of the explosion was quite large. After the smoke and dust slowly dissipated, a golden-colored bright light appeared.

Feng Xian laughed, while Yao Han who was curious about the golden light was puzzled by his teacher's behavior.

"What makes the teacher laugh?"

Yao Han shook his head slowly, then Feng Xian explained that the golden light meant that Meirong had successfully entered the Core Realm by forming the Golden Core, the best type of Core whose strength reached a hundred times that of the peak Heaven Foundation stage.

After hearing this, Yao Han woah ria and impatiently met Meirong to congratulate him. Feng Xian returned home while Yao Han remained waiting there.

His afternoon...

"Teacher Hong-!"

Yao Han waved and greeted the enthusiastic Meirong who flew towards him in the form of a Phoenix. His entire fur was shrouded in rosy flames, leaving Yao Han in awe. His body size in the form of the Phoenix was also larger, about five times the size of Yao Han's body.

Meirong slowly descended before Yao Han gracefully. Before his feet touched the ground, his body glowed golden red and his form turned into a human.

"Han'er.." said Meirong with a sweet smile. Yao Han immediately hugged his beautiful teacher.

"Teacher Hong, I miss you..."

Meirong let out a soft laugh, Yao Han always acted spoiled towards her. She knew Yao Han missed her heavily, feeling from how tightly hugged Yao Han was.

"Yes-! Why do you look so close?" Meirong only realized Yao Han's appearance after their embrace unraveled.

Yao Han explained the outline of his condition, making Meirong cluck softly. Meirong told Yao Han to clean up while he met Feng Xian.

***

"Teacher, please drink..."

Yao Han who was clean and fresh came with a tray on top of which was a teapot and three cups. He served tea to Feng Xian and Meirong.

"It smells so good..." Meirong drank the tea and then called out softly, "Silver Grass Tea?" Meirong who was also an Alchemist was sensitive to the scent of magic plants, so he recognized the raw materials in the tea.

Yao Han smiled widely and confirmed. He recounted his experience trying to make a good tea potion to serve to his three teachers. Then he managed to find a concoction with the main ingredient of Silver Grass.

"I haven't enjoyed tea in a long time and I've enjoyed it. You're really smart, Han'er. You'll get a lot of customers if you open a tea shop business."

Yao Han was grinning and felt great chiefly hearing Meirong's praise, but it wasn't long when he heard Feng Xian's remark.

"It would be better if you served wine." Feng Xian chirped after drinking tea.

Meirong almost choked on the tea and Yao Han smiled awkwardly.

"Senior! How could you have Han'er who was underage to serve wine? Have you lost your mind?"

Meirong did not hold back in his protest, plus he also slightly glared at Feng Xian. The man responded casually, shrugged then laughed softly.

"This tea is delicious, but I prefer wine. You're a woman, so don't understand about a man's romance with wine. I'm just kidding anyway, no need to be taken seriously..."

'What a bad joke,' Meirong and Yao Han grumbled inwardly.
