Mortal To Immortal (Book 1)
MTI 147 - Xu Yang Aware

"Why do you see me like that? Stunned by my charm?"

Yao Han only intended to joke around, to which Xu Yin answered a soft snort.

"It's very much you're confident."

From the Dimension of the Pagoda, Meirong patted his forehead slowly, "Han'er contracted this stupid snake's 'disease."

Yutian responded with a sneer, "Keep ridiculing me, you sucker bird. Just be careful if you're fascinated by my good looks."

"No, no way and never will."

"You can say that now, but let's see if you can keep saying that forever."

Seeing the ridiculous debate of the two, Bing Lizi and Tian Jian looked at each other then shook their heads.

"Why didn't you say you were also Uncle Yutian's student?"

"It doesn't matter, after all you've met Teacher She and know the truth."

Xu Yin slightly softened after learning of Yao Han's other status, "When did you go to the Poison Heart Valley?"

Yao Han put on a light shoulder, "Okay, that's for sure after my business is done."

"Your dealings with your friend that member of the Purple Star Sect?"

"No, it's my other business. It's a secret and I can't tell you."

Xu Yin slightly scowled, "Basic stingy."

"That you must remember, be diligent in practicing. With your high and rare talents, you should be able to reach the fifteenth level of the Basic Realm and have the chance to form the Sky Foundation. You will become an important hero of the Valley of the Poison Heart. Also, don't forget Teacher She's message to keep her life a secret."

"Yes, yes, I understand." Xu Yin slightly goiter was reminded as if she was going to forget about it.

The momentary silent atmosphere with Yao Han was still engrossed in snacking on honey grass, then Xu Yin asked, "By the way, how can you master wood element magic? As I recall it was a rare kind of elemental magic. She's grandmother once said only one person could master it."

"Oh, who's the guy your grandmother meant?" Yao Han pretended not to know.

"Hm, one of the Four Great Warriors is like your teacher, Senior Southern Dragon."

"Oh." Yao Han responded casually, "If you ask like that, the answer is... Because I'm talented? I found his legacy a few years ago."

Xu Yin did not know if Yao Han was low to rise or indeed brag about his abilities. Then Xu Yin asked if Yao Han could take down one or two types of wood magic so that he could learn them as well.

"Thankfully you asked me that question. If it was someone else, how could you possibly ask that." Yao Han sighed in an overly friendly manner from Xu Yin, "You have the wood element in your spirit root, but the chances for you to learn wood element magic like me are very small."

"You must be lying because you're a stingy, right?"

"I'm not lying." Yao Han could not explain that only those with pure wood elemental spirit roots could well learn Chen Long's legacy wood element magic because it could dismantle one of his innate talents to Xu Yin, "Among the wood element magic I got, you might be able to learn one kind of magic. Just a minute."

Yao Han took out one blank jade slip and barked out the knowledge of wood element magic that could be used to increase the life energy of a cultivator as long as it had the wood element in its spirit root.

"Thank you, you're not as careful as I thought." Xu Yin smiled widely accepting the jade slip, making Yao Han snort softly.

"Who's lounging too? I'm..."

Xu Yin wanted to respond to Yao Han further, but the voice of someone beside them distracted her. The voice that came from the unconscious Xu Yang.

"Yin-heaven..."

Xu Yin approached Xu Yang's 'bed. His sister blinked several times adjusting the light that entered his eyes and seemed confused to see his presence there.

"Yin'er? Why are you here? Am I in the sect?" Xu Yang tried to sit down and found some surprises.

His sleeping pedestal was a lush green foliage and what surprised him the most was his body that felt lighter, much lighter in fact.

"Hm? What happened to my body? Is this a dream?" Xu Yang was shocked when he felt his body and face which now only left light scars, no more pushy and foul-smelling boils that adorned his face.

"Yin'er, where are we? Uh, who is that?" Xu Yang was startled to realize the existence of Yao Han sitting leisurely not far away from them.

Yao Han could see the same color of Xu Yang's eyes as Xu Yin's, the dark green of the inheritance from their late mother, Liu Yin. In terms of overall physique, Xu Yang was more similar to Xu Gang, hence Xu Yin was more likely to resemble her mother, instead like Liu Yin's duplicate as a teenager.

"Yin'er, why are you quiet?"

Xu Yin's eyes glazed over, then without her cue hugged her brother tightly, "Yang-gegege. You almost died, but now you're almost healed..."

Xu Yang returned Xu Yin's embrace warmly while digesting Xu Yin's words. He still remembered having gone through a difficult journey to the Land of Green Forest because he was desperate to go alone.

His last memory was dealing with a group of half-stealth humans who appeared as if they were after him, then there were some people who tried to help him when he was severely injured before closing their eyes unconscious.

"You found me? Wait... We have no dictation? Are we still in the Green Forest Country?"

"Yes, we found you almost dead and he saved you from a critical condition."

Xu Yang turned his head towards Yao Han who was smiling kindly at him while continuing to stuff the hundred year old honey grass into his mouth.

"Who is he, Yin'er?" Xu Yang whispered.

"Oh, he's a Senior East Wind disciple, his name is Yao Han."

"Uhuk! Whose student did you say?!" Xu Yang coughed then glared, he turned his head quickly towards Yao Han who had already stored back the cloth bag containing honey grass and walked up to the two brothers.

"Greetings, Brother Xu. My name is Yao Han. Hm, should I call you Xu-gege, considering you're older than me?"

Xu Yang did not immediately respond, but glanced at Xu Yin who nodded slowly towards him.

"Greetings... Sib... Yao. You don't have to call me gege..." Somehow Xu Yang was feeling nervous near Yao Han, "... So it's true that you're Senior East Wind's student and you saved me?"

"Yes, that's it. I can't say save you, I'm just dealing with the poison lodged in your body." Yao Han stroked his chin, "I understand you want to increase your strength in order to compensate for your sister's talent, but other than being too reckless, it turns out that you are also too stupid to insist on studying the Sky Poison Book, too, until you get the side effects that almost make you die."

Just as Yao Han blurted out a heart-piercing sentence, he looked like his first teacher, Feng Xian.
