Chapter 31

Alanna returns home and hasn't seen Zack. "Maybe he's still busy at the office." Mumbled Alanna went to the bathroom to clean up, Zack had not yet appeared. Alanna wanted to make a phone call asking Zack but felt it was a little excessive considering she was a wife in the opinion of Alanna.

Feeling that Zack might be coming home late, Alanna decided not to wait and went straight to bed, first turning off all the room lights. Alanna awoke as she felt a movement next to her. It was Zack who got into bed.

"Just come home ?" alanna asked while rubbing her sleepy eyes.

"Yes, sorry to build you up."

"What time is this ?"

"One in the morning." Said Zack fixing his sleeping position, sideways facing Alanna.

"She's so busy coming home at this hour."

"Yes, and tomorrow for me I have to leave for Malaysia with Johan taking care of the hotel construction project there." Zack

"How many days did you go ?" alanna asked could not hide her disappointment.

"Maybe three days at most." Zack replied smiling faintly hearing the tone of disappointment in Alanna's voice.

Alanna no longer commented and chose to sleep, lying on her back to Zack.

Zack approached and hugged Alanna from behind. Alanna was a little surprised to receive a hug from Zack and chose to just shut up. "I deliberately didn't tell you to wait for you to call, but until you came home you didn't call me."

"I don't feel entitled to act that far."

"Why not ?"

"Mas must know the answer let me not be clear." Answer Alanna. "Sleep, tomorrow I'll travel far." Alanna switched the conversation not wanting to discuss the matter further.

At breakfast Zack told the parents about his departure this morning.

"So how many days were you there ?" ask papa Arian.

"Maybe three days at most." Zack answered while eating his breakfast.

"You newlyweds but you have to separate." Mama Rani spoke.

"It's okay ma, Alanna doesn't matter, anyway it's only three days mas Zack's gone." Alanna reassured Rani's mom.

"If I'm not busy on campus, I'll take Alanna for a walk." Sinta offered herself. "How's Alanna ?" ask Sinta.

"Can." Alanna consented. "It hasn't been a long time out."

"Actually I'd like to bring Alanna just not Alanna." Zack said he made Alanna frown in surprise at Zack's words because she remembered Zack never saying that to her. But he didn't dare say it in front of Zack's parents.

After breakfast, Alanna climbs into their room, looking and rechecking the clothes and supplies that Zack will bring down before he leaves for work. Reflecting for the last time looking at her appearance in the mirror before coming out, Alanna looked through the mirror reflection, Zack who had just entered.

"When you talk to me about the mas that's gonna take me away." Alanna said she stared at Zack through the mirror, unable to hold back the question she had been keeping in her head.

"I didn't speak directly like that, I actually wanted to take you but there's no way I'm taking you and you don't want people to know that you're my wife, I'll tell what to the person who met you if it's about you." Zack said he made Alanna go silent, looking back at Alanna from the mirror. "How about the ring, have you worn it ?" ask Zack back.

"It's already me." Alanna answered briefly not knowing what to say, only turning to face Zack and revealing her ring finger attached to their wedding ring.

"We've always been like this when we're talking about this." Zack let out a long sigh, walked up to Alanna and hugged her tightly. "Mas understands that you want to keep this marriage a secret, even helping you so that mom and dad don't know this problem but sometimes there are certain moments when you feel sorry to agree to your wishes." Zack said softly as he rubbed Alanna's back gently.

Alanna just stayed in Zack's arms. "Thank you and I'm sorry to make it so hard."

"It's OK Alanna." Zack took off his arms and looked at his watch. "Go to work, Mr. Risno from earlier is waiting for you."

"From the house we went straight to the airport ?"

"Yes, I'm just waiting for Johan."

When he arrived at the hotel as usual Alanna was busy with her work, the concern that there will be people who pay attention to him who wears a wedding ring turned out to be excessive because it was proven that no one commented on even Mr. Ariel who often met him was not aware.

Tired of work Alanna decided to walk for a while to the hotel pool area complete with a place to relax in the sun or just sit back and enjoy the fresh air. Sitting alone in a lounge chair a little away from the pool, breathing in the fresh air made Alanna feel a little relaxed, she said, though he actually did not want to admit he felt a little lonely with Zack who was not in the hotel. Distracted by the sound of incoming phone calls, Alanna looked at the phone screen, apparently incoming calls from Sinta.

"Hallo ?" Alanna said when the phone was connected.

"Hallo Alanna." Reply Sinta from across.

"Why Sinta ?"

"I'll take a break later ?"

"Where are they going ?" ask Alanna wonder.

"We had lunch together ? there is a new restaurant that I have long wanted to go to just not had time, how can you ?"

"Have not eaten outside in a long time." Alanna replied excitedly.

"Well, I'll pick you up at the hotel."

"Let's tell me if I'm picking up, I'll wait at the hotel door."

"okay." Say Sinta and disconnect the phone. Feeling already fresher Alanna decides to climb back up to her room, finishing her bit of work before Sinta comes to pick her up for lunch.

The sound of an incoming SMS notification, Alanna opened and read. Sinta told me that on the way to pick up Alanna. Alanna tidied up her desk and walked out, down to the front door of the hotel. Not long standing waiting to be seen approaching the white sedan car and stopped right in front of Alanna. Get out the door next to the driver.

"Come in." Sinta said then entered again, Alanna opened the front passenger seat door and sat next to Sinta, running her car after Alanna put the seat belt out of the hotel area to the highway.

They entered a restaurant with a unique modern design. They chose a chair that was near a glass wall facing directly into the street and passed by a woman who was known by Sinta.

"Hi Sinta, long time no see." Greet the woman with a friendly smile that Alanna said seemed contrived.

"Hi too Maya." Reply Sinta was not excited. Yes the woman is Maya, the woman who runs into them who makes the mood of Sinta and Alanna lost because of meeting her.

"How's your brother doing ? I haven't seen her in a long time." Maya asks Sinta but her gaze stares at Alanna curiously.

"Good." Answer Sinta briefly lazy to serve the conversation from Maya.

"Like I know you." Maya looked at Alanna while thinking seriously about trying to remember where she had met Alanna. "Aren't you the hotel's waitress ?!" Maya asked excitedly after remembering where she had met before.

"Yes, I'm the hotel's waitress." Alanna admitted casually.

"Why can you be here and again with Sinta ?" asked Maya astonished mixed with curiosity.

"I'm sorry but I'm not obligated to answer your question." Answer Alanna flat.

"No problem, I'll find out about it too." Maya smiled mysteriously. "You're just gonna order some food ?".

"Yes we just came."

"I'm done with lunch, then I'll see you again Sinta." Maya said when they did not ask. "Titip greetings with your brother huh ?" added her, after saying so then turned out of the restaurant.
