Chapter 40

Alanna's dinner alone at home, Mama Rani and Papa Arian come out to attend a dinner invitation from papa Arian's business friend, to, Sinta dined outside to gather with her campus friends while Zack himself was busy with office affairs because he planned to leave tomorrow to Singapore to check directly their hotel management there which was routine for a month once he did it.

After dinner Alanna chooses to rest in her room while waiting for Zack to come home.

Tok to tok.

When she knocked on the door from the outside, Alanna opened the door.

"What's up Auntie ?" alanna asked, apparently knocking on Aunt's door.

"Non Alanna, there's a guest downstairs looking for the big madam." Aunt told me.

"Let's just say Bi if mama comes out with papa to attend the dinner invitation." Alanna told me.

"It's non, Aunt told you."

"Then ? the guest has gone home ?" Alanna asked in wonder.

"Not yet non, still waiting in the living room. He asked who was in the house so Aunt answered that there was only a young mistress inside the house." Aunt explained.

"Then what did he say ?"

"Say she wants to meet non-Alanna."

Surprised by the forced guest to meet, Alanna is forced to meet the guest. "Alright Bi, tell the guest that I'm a little bit down, I change clothes first."

"Non good." Aunty said before turning away

Alanna was forced to change her nightgown to a slightly more polite home outfit and went downstairs to meet the guest.

When he reached the lower stairs, the guest who turned out to be a woman was already standing waiting in the living room no longer in the living room, turned to Alanna for seriously paying attention to the family photos neatly arranged on the wall of the middle room.

Hearing Alanna's footsteps distract the guest and turn around.

"May ?" Alanna said subconsciously, not expecting the guest who wanted to meet her was her.

"Whoa. wah..didn't expect the young lady of this house to be you." Maya spoke in a dramatic tone.

Alanna ignored Maya's tone and chose to immediately ask her intentions in order to get her out of the house.

"What do you want to see me about ? Aunty said the first intention of your coming here was actually to meet with mama."

"Yes, there's something I'd like to ask you but it's been answered before you got off at the sight of these photos." Maya said while pointing at some of her wedding photos attached to the wall of the middle room.

Hearing Maya's words leads Alanna to conclude that Maya came to this house just wanted to ask about Zack's status.

"Why are you so curious about Zack's life ? as far as I know you have nothing to do with this family."

"Now it's not, but it's been."

Maya's words left Alanna confused. "You mean ? I don't understand what you're saying."

"My family and this family used to have a relationship because of Zack's marriage."

"Marriage to Zack ?" Alanna asked repeating Maya's words because she did not know the direction of this conversation. "You mean besides this time, Zack mas before her was married already ?" her chest ached hearing the words coming out of her own mouth and her heart pounded more vigorously waiting for an answer from Maya.

Alanna tried to look calm and put on a normal expression when she heard Maya's words even though she wanted to cry in her heart. "I don't want to ramble with you, just say what you want to say and then go, I want to rest."

"Well let me tell you, Zack was married to my sister Mariana."

Mariana, finally the puzzle about the woman has been answered even from the person I did not expect in Alanna's heart said.

"What are you doing in my house !?" zack's angry voice suddenly startled the two of them which automatically made them turn to look at Zack who turned out to be standing not far from them. Zack looked angrily at Maya. "I asked, what are you doing in my house ?"

"Not be angry like that, Zack." Maya says relax. "I just came to visit, asked about your family and got a surprise to find out you're married again." Maya adds up and presses on the word remarry while glancing at Alanna who was standing stiffly staring at Zack.

Zack was surprised by Maya's words and turned to look at Alanna who was standing stiff with a slightly pale face staring at her. "What's everything you said to Alanna ?" Zack said his jaw tightened proving he was trying to contain his anger.

"Not much, I'm just saying that you were married to my sister Mariana, that's all. Is that right, Alanna ?" maya asks for Alanna's approval which only Alanna can answer with a nod of the head.

"You'd better get out of this house if you don't have anything else to do." Zack drove Maya away.

" Don't throw me Zack, I want to go home." Maya smiled happily before leaving the two of them.

Alanna walked a little run up the stairs to their room on Zack's back.

"Alanna I'll explain." Zack said in a slight panic, pulling Alanna's hand for attention as they were already inside the room.

Alanna jerked her hand off Zack's handle. "What needs to be clear, right ?! everything Maya said was clear !!" Alanna said emotionally. "I am a wife who knows nothing about her husband, an outsider who has no relationship with you alone knows you more than I do as your wife, I really want to make me laugh." Alanna said laughing bitterly mocking her own situation.

"It's not like it's Alanna." Zack did not know what to say, this situation left him perplexed to explain. "I haven't found the right time to explain it to you."

"The right time ? I have plenty of time to tell you. Didn't we get married before we could tell me ? this attitude of mas proves clearly that I am a nobody and only an outsider in the life of mas Zack." Alanna could no longer hold back the tears that had been held back.

Seeing the crying Alanna make Zack's chest ache makes his reflex pull Alanna into his arms.

"Don't touch me !" Alanna pushes Zack's body down and refuses to hug him.

"Alanna." Zack said softly with a sad face.

"Mas Zack made me like this." Alanna threw away the face of not wanting to look at Zack while wiping away the tears that had not stopped flowing on her face. "I want to be alone right now mas, I'm sleeping in my apartment tonight, can't deliver mas tomorrow."

Hearing Alanna's words made Zack panic. "No ! you can't go anywhere."

"I want to go it alone !" Alanna was angry that Zack was holding her back.

"You can be angry with me but you can't leave this house." Zack said firmly trying to contain his emotions.

"Mas Zack -"

"No Alanna, my words will not change, I will sleep in the guest room if you want to be alone." Zack cuts off Alanna's words before turning away leaving Alanna still sobbing in the room.
