The Man Full of Wounds

The Man Full of Wounds
Chapter 68

"Johan order me a plane ticket to Jakarta for a flight now." Zack's orders when he finished calling Rani's mom.

"If Alanna's not home then where to ?" ask Sinta who also started to panic.

"Maybe he's in his apartment." Answer Zack.

"Then what about me ?" Sinta asked back.

"You're going home with Johan tomorrow afternoon on our plane. Johan still has to solve the work problem here before returning to Jakarta."

"Already sir, your plane leaves half an hour later so you better leave now."

"All right." Zack stand. "Johan take me, for work tomorrow you finish first before returning to Jakarta tomorrow with Sinta." Zack's orders.

"Good sir."

Flights to Jakarta went well. Upon arriving, Zack immediately ordered a taxi to Alanna's apartment address. As soon as Zack goes straight up to the floor of Alanna's apartment. Zack no longer knocks on the door directly pressing the door code number key then enters. The room looked dark, Zack became doubtful Alanna was inside but the visible light from the slit of the room door made Zack's guess right.

Zack walked up to Alanna's room door, pushed the door knob slowly and entered. Zack sees Alanna sitting on the bed, hugging both knees hiding her face. Zack hears Alanna's cry and walks over.

"Dear." Zack called out softly.

Alanna was surprised to hear Zack's voice, instantly raising her face. "Why can Zack be here ?" Alanna said confused.

Zack looked at Alanna's face, her eyes red and swollen from crying. The tip of his nose was also flushed. Zack felt guilty and wanted to hold onto Alanna's little body but knew it was impossible. Alanna must hate him now.

"Why are you here ?" Alanna repeated her words again because Zack who was just silent did not make a sound.

"I'm catching you home because you're not coming home." Answer Zack gently.

"I didn't go home because I wanted to calm down, I didn't want to see Mas Zack." Alanna turned her face away. "Better to go home with Zack."

"I'll go home with you." Zack.

"Then I'll be disappointed that I won't be coming." Alanna said firmly.

"You need to get Alanna home !" Zack started to get emotional.

"No mas !"

Zack approaches Alanna, pulling her hand and forcing Alanna to get out of bed.

"Let go of my hand !" Alanna tried to get Zack's grip off her hand. "Mas can't force me like this."

"Mas has rights and can because I'm your husband."

Alanna stopped trying to let go of her hand because for nothing, Zack's hand grip was very strong. "I'm going home but not yet. Please leave me alone." Alanna started crying. Frustrated with everything that happened to him.

Zack stopped pulling Alanna's hand, turning to look at her. "It's better that you yell or hit me to get your emotions out of the way than you stay away like this." Zack wiped the tears that ran down Alanna's cheek.

Alanna turned her face away not wanting Zack to touch her.

"Hurt and shame mixed into one because of the incident, the feeling of being despised as a cheap woman now I have often felt since I knew mas Zack."

Zack was shocked to hear Alanna's words. "What do you mean by this, other than that there was another similar incident happening ? where and when ?" Zack wants answers.

"But you can't just let them talk like that about you."

"Don't Mas Zack himself say, don't mind other people talking ?"

"Yes, but if you insult yourself, you can't stay silent." Zack said firmly. "We go home, we can talk about this all right." Persuade Zack, Zack's tone of voice began to soften.

"There's nothing to talk about here. My attitude towards me tonight made me realize one thing, Zack didn't know me."

"Mas is sorry about the incident. I couldn't defend you back then because the situation wasn't possible." Zack explained.

"Mas Zack won't even listen to my explanation." Accuse Alanna.

"I know, I admit I'm wrong but at least you don't like this." Zack said put on a guilty face. "Johan told me everything, he saw the real thing." Zack confessed.

Alanna looked at Zack. "Johan saw the real thing ?"

"Yes, he told me on the way home even though it didn't change what happened." Zack said with regret.

Alanna just fell silent not knowing what else to say.

"Honey, we're home, mama's worried about you." Get Zack back.

Hearing Rani's mom worrying about her makes Alanna think she can't stay here.

"I'm going home tonight but by myself, I'm going home first." Alanna finally made a sound.

"We go home together."

"Mas Zack, please understand my situation. I haven't completely forgiven Zack, give me a little breathing room." Alanna said desperately facing Zack's nature towards him.

Zack looked at Alanna, thinking and observing their situation. "Well, I'm going home now. When did you come home ?" Zack finally relented.

"So soon, I'll be home before midnight." Alanna's Promise.

"All right, then let's go first." Pamit Zack, turn to walk towards the front door.

Alanna lay back on the bed, staring at the ceiling of her room. His mind was empty probably because he was tired of thinking. Tired of thinking about how his fate would be.

Looking at the small clock next to the nightstand, the time shows almost twelve o'clock at night. Force yourself to get out of bed, turn off the room lights and then exit the door shut from the outside.

Alanna arrived downstairs, walking out towards the front door of the apartment building. Surprised to see Zack standing leaning beside the car with his hands in both pockets.

"Mas Zack." Alanna.

Zack stood up straight looking at Alanna who was standing not far from him. "Mas was worried that there was no public transportation when you got home, so he was waiting for you." Zack said awkwardly, explaining before Alanna asked what she meant was still there.

Alanna let out a long sigh, not knowing what else to say and chose to walk closer to Zack.

Zack, who saw Alanna walking closer, opened the front door next to the driver's seat. Alanna then walked in without making a sound or looking at Zack's face.

Zack opened the driver's seat door and walked in, turning to make sure Alanna had her seatbelt on before turning the car out of the apartment area towards the highway.

On the way home, none of them spoke. Alanna just daydreamed looking out the window of the car while Zack could only turn to look at Alanna once because he was driving the car.
