Chapter 72

After lunch, Zack entered his study while Alanna sat back on the living room couch watching television.

Inside his study Zack contacts Johan, the phone is connected during the first ring.

"Hallo Mr. Zack." Johan said from across.

"How's it going in there ?" Zack asked directly.

"It's all done, sir." Reply Johan.

"Good, good job, Johan." Praise Zack. "There's something you need to do before you go back to Jakarta." Zack added.

"What is Mister ?"

"You went to Datuk Malik's residence to present an invitation from me."

"Invitation in what order is Mr ?"

"Invitation for papa's birthday celebration. The show will be held tomorrow night at our residence."

"Okay sir, I'll do it."

"Then you go straight home." Zack's orders.

"Good sir."

"Where is Sinta ?" Zack answers suddenly, making Johan surprised to think Zack will disconnect the phone.

"There's at the Penthouse Mr." Reply Johan.

"Make sure he's not out of nowhere 'cause you're gonna be home soon."

"Good sir." Johan said obediently and the phone line was cut off.

Alanna who was tired of watching television shows chose to go up to the room. In the room, Alanna took her mobile phone to sit on the sofa in the room and started to open the social media application.

Alanna, who was engrossed in her cell phone, was unaware of Zack's presence in their room.

"So see what ? it seems serious." Zack asked, looking down closer to Alanna from behind the sofa and peeking at the screen of the phone that Alanna was holding.

Surprised to hear Zack's sudden voice made Alanna turn to Zack.

Cups !

Alanna's lips were right against Zack's cheeks, making Zack smile knots.

"Mas Zack surprised me !" Alanna said as she slightly retreated from Zack's face. "Why did you suddenly appear from behind." Alanna added, a little clumsy for accidentally kissing Zack's cheek.

"You're so serious about your cell phone that you don't realize I'm in the room." Zack said as he straightened up, walked around the sofa and sat down next to Alanna. "What are you looking at ?"

"It's nothing, I'm just opening a social media app and looking at the status of those who appear on my homepage." Alanna answered while scrolling down her phone screen, slightly away from Zack.

"Are you actively using social media ?" Zack asked. Hugging Alanna's shoulder, pulling Alanna closer to her didn't let her away. Zack finds out why Alanna is staying away because she's still a little angry with him.

"It used to be active, but since coming to Jakarta it has been rare."

"Why ?" Zack asked curiously.

"There's no particular reason, just because it's busy." Javan Alanna. "If mas Zack, active on social media ?" Alanna asked back because she didn't want Zack to keep asking her.

"There are but I rarely use them." Answer Zack. "What's your account name ?" ask Zack while reaching into his pants pocket to get out his phone.

"My account name is Alanna, mas Zack." Alanna replied, her attention was turned to the wallpaper of Zack's phone that put up their wedding photos. "Mas used that photo ?" alanna was surprised.

"What photo ?" Zack asked back without taking his eyes off the phone screen, not understanding Alanna's intentions while opening the social media application on his cellphone.

"Mas turned out to put our wedding photos on the wallpaper of Mas Zack's cell phone."

Zack stopped, looking at Alanna's face. "Isn't that right ?" Zack asked with an astonished look at Alanna's question.

"Yes, it's natural but I didn't expect Mas Zack to be like that." Alanna admitted honestly.

"No, mas." Alanna answered with a guilty face.

"Why ?"

"Not thinking about it."

Zack was silent at Alanna's words. "Why do you feel like you're not serious about our marriage, you're pessimistic our marriage will work ?"

"Sorry, I can't lie with my own feelings."

"You are doubtful and increasingly doubtful because of yesterday's events in Malaysia is not it ?"

Alanna simply fell silent not answering, turning her head in the other direction unable to look at Zack's face.

"Together we can, if you believe me." Zack convinced Alanna.

"The former didn't want to believe me. Make sure to yourself first and then to me or we let it flow as it is." Alanna's words made Zack riveted.

Zack stood up from his seat. "I'll go back to the study first, we'll talk about this next time." Zack said flat without looking at Alanna's face and Alanna was grateful Zack didn't see her face trying to hold back tears of disappointment at Zack's reaction.

Zack steps out of the room without waiting for an answer from Alanna.

At dinner, all the family members were there. Sinta who had arrived this afternoon from Malaysia, Mama Rani was also the father of Arian who went from informing the family and taking care of the invitation.

"How's tomorrow's readiness, Zack ?" ask Mama Rani on the sidelines of their dinner.

"I've taken care of ma, tomorrow they will come to take care of all the preparations."

"Make sure everything goes well there are no problems, especially the food."

"Some Chefs from the hotel will come to take care of the dinner menu."

"Good." Mama Rani said in relief.

"Tumben the show was made at home ?" ask Sinta curiously.

"It's the idea of your brother, mom and dad just following." Answer papa Arian.

"so." Say Sinta understand.

"Alanna, Sinta, you guys got a dress for tomorrow's show ?" ask mama Rani.

"My dress is still a lot in my unused closet." Answer Alanna.

"Tomorrow morning I'll go shopping first." Sinta.

"We go together, Alanna, you come along because after we go to the salon." Take mama Rani.

"Good mom." Alanna understood.

"Don't be too pushy if you're tired tell mama, remember you're pregnant." Zack reminded Alanna.

"Yes Zack, I know."

"Sister Zack, please, I wonder why Brother Zack still invites Datuk Malik and his son to come to papa's birthday while brother Zack knows that Datuk Malik's son has made Alanna embarrassed and hurt." Sinta suddenly said to divert the conversation.

"We can't tell our business partners apart to come to papa's birthday." Flat Zack. "All must be invited, depending on whether they want to come or not. Tomorrow's event is not just to celebrate papa's birthday but also to introduce Alanna as my wife so that there will be no more misunderstandings." Zack explained.

"Thank God then." Sinta said in relief, Alanna who heard only fell silent. Mama Rani and Papa Arian look at each other curiously at what plan Zack will do tomorrow night.
