Steve was not calm. Looks very nervous too anxious. There was not a hint of loophole that Arthur had left to discover their whereabouts. All he's doing right now is trying to provoke Olivia, hoping that she knows where Arthur's hideout is. But up to this point, Olivia has not shown any signs that the woman ate the bait she threw.
It's been over 24 hours. There was no good news at all. Harry who has also been in action to find Lexi's whereabouts has not got any results.
"Olivia called someone" Austin exclaimed. They managed to tap the woman's phone.
Steve stepped wide towards Austin. The two men pitched their ears wide, hoping they would find a clue soon.
At home, Olivia looks emotional. An article he recently read about the profile of Gerald Deville also lists the names of foster children whom the man has educated and cared for wholeheartedly. Arthur Cony's name was tucked in there.
Previously, Olivia had already heard a glimpse of the man. Men who are hailed as heroes. It has such a strong ambition to bring down the US. The thought of Arthur continuing the mission began to dance through his mind. Olivia also read the rules in the group about people who can be made leaders.
"Yes, Olivia," the voice from across the phone broke Olivia's musings.
"Where are you?"
"Home."
"I heard you made a mess in Willson's family mansion."
"Isn't that our plan?"
"Yes, to look for Brian's whereabouts, not to destroy Lexi and the prince's marriage. So, why did you kidnap Lexi, take her with you, Arthur?"
"Lexi will be exchanged for Brian. It was so fucked up back then. We didn't find Brian there."
Olivia was silent, her heart wondering if Arthur was speaking honestly or was petting her. As far as their relationship goes, Arthur's attitude seems to care deeply for him. There are no signs that Arthur has ambitions or obsessions that reflect a thirst for power. During this time, Athur was also very obedient in his eyes, being very sweet and nurturing.
"Aren't you fooling me?"
"Gosh, you doubted me after what we've been through all this time. I'll bring Brian to you, as soon as possible."
"All right." Olivia closed the call. He read the article sent to him for the umpteenth time.
"Riston," Olivia stood up slowly from her chair. He approached the executioner with a sweet smile on his face. "You certainly know where Arthur's base I don't know, right?"
Riston shook her head, "I don't know anything, Olive."
"Hmm, really?" Olivia started to play her fingers on the man's sideburns full face. Then he covers both of Riston's cheeks, holding them together to get their eyes together. "What if you show me the way. After that we'll have fun."
____
"This woman is getting troublesome," Arthur sizzled.
"Maybe it's time he got wiped out, Arthur. The more we hold him back, the more he'll cause us trouble. The witch's bad woman will use her seductive face to seduce our members." Donny Volkov, Arthur's partner who was his accomplice. Arthur entrusts everything to the man while he acts as a calm man who scans all of his opponent's characters.
Arthur laughed, completely agreeing with what Donny said. He doesn't need that idiot Olivia anymore.
"As you command, Arthur." Donny immediately contacts someone to carry out the task ordered by Arthur.
"We're leaving the country in two hours. What are you doing with Sonya's body?"
"Let him just rot away."
"You're so cruel. What about Lexi, I hear she's hysterical."
"He will recover soon. She will be a tough lady after this. We'll live happily and the Devils will rule it all. Devils' heyday will be back." A wide smile bloomed beautifully on her beautiful face.
Olivia smiled bitterly. He heard all the talk. It was unexpected that Arthur had the ambition to make Lexi his entire possession. What does he mean to an Arthur?
Olivia clenched both her hands. His heart ached, shattered into pieces. He thought Arthur was the man who understood him the most. He gave all his trust to the man. As it turns out, he was only made a slave by Arthur. Again and again Lexi is the woman who manages to attract Arthur's attention, making Olivia's anger and hatred for Lexi even more. There was always Lexi who would destroy her happiness, that's what she thought.
Olivia orders Riston to find Lexi. He had to kill the woman. If she can't be happy, Lexi doesn't deserve to be happy.
"Done," Donny exclaimed with excitement. "The missile has been activated and directed to important places, such as airports, stations, satellites, urban areas. This country will be flat once we fly."
"Good job, Don." Arthur smiled with satisfaction. However, that smile only lasted a few seconds as it sounded an explosion from outside.
"Damn!" Arthur and Donny are about to move on. Arthur himself went upstairs, where Lexi was locked up. He gave orders to his men to get Lexi out of there no matter what.
Yes, Steve managed to follow Olivia and Riston. He had to refrain from smashing Riston's head in the midst of the panic he experienced when he saw the man's face return. That disgusting memory seemed to be replayed before him. Steve felt a tremendous amount of nausea. Steve tried hard to restore his senses. He has to focus.
Arthur's bodyguards are so many. It's easy for Olivia to fool everyone, but not Steve. He threw a small bomb that caught everyone's attention. Even if he barges in, saving Lexi is his main goal.
Gunfights are inevitable. Steve didn't waste time. He ran in without stopping his shooting.
Bugh!
He slammed his head into the face of one of the terrorists who tried to block his way. Grab the man's rifle and hit the man's nose with the tip of the gun and pull the trigger, shooting right in the heart. Instantly the teroriiss died.
Bugh!!
One strike landed on his back causing Steve to fall to the floor. Nimbly he turned around, pulled the gun and fired a bullet into the face of the person who had just hit him at close range.
In another room, Lexi roared again, screaming hysterically like a trance. The explosion and the sound of the gunfire were mutually unpretentious made him afraid and panic. The horror he had experienced over Sonya's death had not been able to eliminate, the smell of rancid blood of the woman as if still attached to the tip of her nose, and now the sounds made her condition even more miserable.
His face was pale flooded with tears, his body was trembling, he was shivering with cold, crawling into the corner of the room, hiding behind a table while pulling both knees and burying his face there.
"I'm not afraid... I'm not scared... Daddy... Moms... Darren's.... I'm gonna die... I'm gonna die here. I deserve to die... Austin, Harry's... I-I'm going to die, I'm going to hell to meet my mom and dad. I'm gonna die here. I'll ask them what really happened. I will complain to my father that Luna's mother never loved me. I'm gonna ask, does my dad love me? B-but what if it turns out my father was more terrible than Arthur." He was muttering, muttering the words that came to his mind. Lexi shook her head. "I-I don't want to die. I'm not scared. I must have survived. S-Ste... Steven...."
"Yes, I'm here. Don't be afraid."
Lexi immediately raised her head, and at once her tears broke again to find the figure of the man she just called her name.
