Take Control

"Me! Found it!" Lexi exclaimed in excitement. His fear disappeared instantly as soon as the bullet lodged in Steve's body managed to remove it.

''Good work. You're great, Lexi. Should we celebrate?"

Believe me, Steve's words sound like praise, but if you look at the man's face, it looks like you're mocking him. At least that's what Lexi thinks of Steve's flat like a highway.

"What am I supposed to do with this bullet?" Lexi got off the bed, stood in front of Steve. Her fancy dress was now filled with blood, even with her smooth hands.

Steve looked at her intently, wondering inwardly, if Lexi was aware of her blood-soaked appearance.

"You're full of blood."

Lexi noticed her appearance, then she raised her head, looking at the man. "I just did an amazing job. Saved you. Of course I have to be full of blood. It's my mark of success!"

Steve smelled a smile, Lexi's face was so adorable. The panicked and fearful face was not visible anymore. Now only a sense of pride for his achievements that emanated clearly.

"Yes, just like me I had to get a blood-filled wound while saving you"

Lexi's face changed. This time the guilt was so strong. "I'm sorry. You shouldn't have saved me"

"You'd rather have that bullet lodged in your body?" Steve lifted his chin, pointing it at the bullet still in Lexi's hand complete with his brace.

Lexi shook her head, "Darren has given me a warning that there will be riots. My father and my two brothers will definitely protect me.''

"So you mean, what I did was a futile act?" His jaw is a little hard. For the first time he showed a reaction to someone's speech. Steve began to doubt his self-control.

Lexi's headband made her emotions recede. "It's not like that I mean. Really am. I even my family must be very grateful for what you did. It's just that I don't like to see other people hurt just because of me." The beautiful bead was glistening, looking at Steve with a glaring look. Only a fool could not understand the meaning of the girl's gaze. Such a sincere apology. Steve clenched his hand, wanting it to feel like he was raising a fist to vent the emotions that had re-emerged. Damnit damnit! This country and its people really made him lose control. Did ya? Or it was Lexi who made him unable to act as he had planned!

Nah! Can't do. Lexi can't ruin my plan.

"It's a shame, even if you don't like it, the fact is that I'm hurt because of you, Princess."

Lexi gasped at Steve's words. The guilt in his heart grew. What the man said was true. Because of him, Steve got an additional wound on the man's body.

"Sorry."

"Yes, what can you do?"

"I-I also saved you, took out this bullet." He turned the bullet in front of Steve.

"You're right. What about the wound? Still gaping. You have to sew and remove the marks."

"My family doctor will."

"I didn't ask you to like me either." Lexi's stern answer left Steve speechless. The two locked their eyes together. Lexi must have turned her face first. Right in the 20th second. "And I don't like you either."

Steve gave a cynical smile. "Yes, that's what I was expecting." Steve stood up, picked up his shirt, and put it on in silence.

"You want to go?"

"You didn't expect me to stay, did you? I'm also starting to get caught up here. Almost an hour, and your family didn't show up either. Isn't that a question, Miss?"

An hour? Lexi was unaware of that. But wait a minute... What Steve said was true. His family is not the one who will stay silent to let him be with a stranger whom Darren has even accused of being an intruder.

"See you at the event tomorrow." Steve stepped. He felt something was wrong. Is this a trap or is this the one who's making trouble?

Steve opened the door, a weapon greeted him very sweetly. A pair of eagle eyes, looking at him with a bringas. Like a hungry lion ready to eat his prey.

"If you don't want this bullet lodged in your head, get your men to lower their guns, you son of a bitch!"

Steve tilted his head casually, looking forward, behind the back of the man before him. Yeah, his men are acting. CK! This is beyond his estimate. The plan is ruined already. Two men held guns on the heads and backs of Willson's elder, Pax Willson. Alena, the mother of the man who pointed a gun at her, was also made into a sandra. The woman was surrounded, left to sit on the sofa with some weapons that were also directed at the beautiful woman.

"So he's the master of these intruders?" A casual flick from the corner of the room caught Steve's attention. Austin was lying on the floor with a battered face, even with some of his people's faces.

"Darren, what are you doing, my God, Mom, Dad?" Lexi ran to her mother. "Keep your weapons from my mother!" Amuk Lexi while pushing one weapon away from his mother.

"Just think of yourself, little lady!" A man pulls Lexi, making the girl a sandra. A heavy hand squeezed his neck.

"Take him off, you son of a bitch!!!" The call came from Darren and Austin. One kick in Austin's face landed again.

"Oh, fuck! My face could be broken like this, you bastard!" Umpat Austin who really takes care of the good looks of his face.

"I just need to move my finger, and the bullet will go through your head." Darren's threat was responded by Steve with a lazy sigh.

"The situation is very clear. The men behind you also have what you have." Her speech was light without turning a gaze away from Lexi who was trying to release the grip on her neck. "That girl's having trouble breathing, Sam!" His his hissing while removing Darren's weapon from before him. "I'm in control, Dude." The handle was still with a tone as well as a flat expression. The last sentence was addressed to Darren.

"You okay, Steve?"

"You're the one who won't be okay, Sam, if you don't get rid of your hands immediately. Jack, Luke, Jeff," Steve moves his tail. The four men simultaneously pulled their guns away from Lexi and her mother.

"Suck...!"

Steve turned around, dodging nimbly Darren. Darren did not give up, the man again attacked. Pushing Steve until the man's back hit the wall. Darren pulled Steve's shirt collar, looking at him with a drawn look. Steve grinned, and in the next second Darren's body bowed. Yeah, Steve put a fist in the guy's belly.

"Emotion just takes your focus away." Steve patted Darren's shoulder as he walked leisurely. Standing in front of Pax Willson. "I wonder why the doctor you promised me didn't come to check my wounds. It turns out my guy's messing up. I'm sorry, Mr. Willson." Steve lowered his head slightly, showing an apology that seemed to be from his heart. "Today should be such a historic day for you considering it's your wedding anniversary. But sometimes, things don't go as we want them to. It's not so, Mr. Willson?"
