Love Without Memory

Love Without Memory
The word "Divorce"

Aleea and Evan were still busy with their cooking activities in the kitchen. They were chatting, joking and laughing together.

On the other hand, Nathan made sure there were no more cockroaches in Aleea's bathroom before he came out.

After washing his hands, Nathan came out of Aleea's room and took his steps to her room to meet Aleea who he thought was still in her room.

But when he had just opened the door to his room, Nathan was surprised to find Aleea there.

Nathan then went down the stairs and heard laughter coming from the kitchen.

As Nathan halted his steps, he inexplicably wanted to hear everything Aleea and Evan were talking about in the kitchen.

"Nothing less than you, Evan, it must be easy for you to find a life partner" Aleea said.

"I'm not that good at Aleea, after all finding a life partner is not an easy thing for me" Evan replied.

"Do you have any specific criteria?" ask Aelea.

"I haven't really thought much about it, but for sure I just want to love one woman for good, so I have to make sure that I really love her, as well as her," Evan replied.

"The time will show how love grows Evan, so you have to have the courage to start so you know when it starts to grow" Aleea said.

"Did you feel it too Aleea? do you know when love slowly grows out of your heart for Nathan?" ask Evan.

Aleea let out a long sigh before answering Evan's question.

"As far as I can remember, I never felt it, even from the beginning I doubted my relationship with her, I only believed her because there was only her when I didn't know anyone" Aleea replied.

"Wouldn't your togetherness eventually foster love?" ask Evan.

"How can love grow if she has forgotten her love" Aleea replied.

"But Aleea....."

"It's Evan, I don't want to talk about it anymore, my relationship and Nathan's like a ticking time bomb that could blow up at any moment because I'm just waiting for Nathan to divorce me," aelea cut Evan's words.

"I'm sure everything will be fine Aleea, the most important thing now is to live your life happily and do whatever makes you happy" Evan said as he patted Aleea's head softly.

"I can walk the path of my happiness because of you Evan, I don't know how I'm going to live my life without you, I'm really very grateful" Aleea said.

"You just have to be happy Aleea, that's all" Evan replied.

Aleea simply nodded her head with a smile.

On the other hand, Nathan who had been hearing Aleea and Evan chatter had finally chosen to leave.

Nathan went back up the stairs and into his study.

"Near what exactly is the relationship between the two of them? what did Evan do for Aleea?" nathan asked himself.

Nathan was silent, in silence, re-enacted the conversation Aleea and Evan had just heard.

I don't know why it pissed Nathan off for no reason. There was something in his chest that was turbulent, as if burning emotions within him that he could not control.

"Aarrgghhhhh!!!!"

Nathan shouted as he swept the stack of books that were on the table with both hands.

Unprovoked regret made him even more uncontrollable.

"I must be going crazy!" nathan said as he ruffled his hair in annoyance.

Nathan let out a long sigh, trying to control the resentment he did not understand where it came from.

In the kitchen, Aleea and Evan had just finished their cooking activities. They then brought their food to the table.

"Finally it's done as well" Aleea said with a smile, staring at the assortment of food before her.

"It looks like Nathan's still in your room, don't you want to call him?"

"No, just you," Aleea replied and brought herself to a seat.

"Well," said Evan, leaving Aleea, climbing the stairs and walking toward Aleea's room.

But when Evan opens Aleea's room door, Evan doesn't see Nathan there.

"Where is he?" evan asked as he closed Aleea's door and took his steps toward Nathan's room, but did not find Nathan there.

"Basic workaholic!" evan said then took his step toward Nathan's study.

Evan knocked on the door a few times before he opened it.

"Why is it so messy?" asked Evan who saw many books scattered on the floor.

"There are rats" Nathan replied.

"Geez, that cockroach is now a rat, is that as dirty as your house now?"

Nathan just smiled thinly without saying anything while tidying up his books scattered on the floor.

"Let's eat, Aleea and I are done cooking!" said Evan.

Nathan nodded his head without saying anything. Actually Nathan did not want to eat three with Aleea and Evan, because he knew the atmosphere would feel awkward if they sat three.

But Nathan has no reason to refuse and he does not want Evan to think if he deliberately refuses because of something.

Nathan and Evanpun went down the stairs, taking their steps towards the dining table where Aleea had arranged the plates and glasses there.

"You cooked all this?" nathan asked Evan when they were just sitting down.

"With Aleea's help of course," Evan replied with a smile on Aleea.

"It looks like we can open a restaurant if we can work well together" Aleea said as he gave a plate he had filled with rice and some side dishes to Evan.

"Great idea!" reply Evan.

"What do you think, Nathan?" evan asked Nathan.

"I don't agree" replied Nathan, who waited for Aleea to get him some food.

"Why?" asked Aleea who placed the dishes with rice and some side dishes in front of her own.

Nathan who saw it immediately took his own rice and some side dishes in front of him because it turned out Aleea only took it for Evan.

"I am her husband, not Evan" Nathan grumbled in his heart.

"Why don't you agree with Nathan?" ask Evan.

"What will others say when they find out my wife is building a business with my friend? you can do whatever you want as long as you don't make other people misunderstand!" nathan explained.

"But....."

"And you're Aleea, hang on a little while longer, because after I divorce you can do anything with anyone because I don't care at all!" nathan cut Evan's words.

Hearing the word divorce made Aleea lose her appetite instantly. But Aleea just kept quiet with a sigh and then sipped his drink.

Without realizing it, his face began to change. Although he knew that his relationship with Nathan was coming to an end, hearing the word divorce really made his mood a mess.

Evan who was watching Aleea instantly realized that Aleea was not doing well at the time.

"Okay, let's just enjoy our meal this morning, I'm sure none of this will be inferior to the food in the restaurant!" said Evan who was trying to melt the atmosphere.

Aleea only smiled faintly at Evan and then began to enjoy the food before him, as did Nathan.

They finished their meal without much chatting and looked awkward, especially after what Nathan had told Aleea.

After finishing his breakfast, Nathan immediately went back upstairs to get into his study, leaving Aleea and Evan behind.

"Are you okay, Aleea?" evan asked Aleea who had only been quiet since.

Aleea simply smiled without saying anything, a smile that he clearly forced back then.

"What are you going to do after this?" asked Evan who was trying to restore Aleea's cheer.

"I have to go to the shophouse, but before that, can I ask you a favor?" reply Aleea.

"Of course, what can I do for you?"

"Please check my bathroom, I'm afraid there are still cockroaches there" Aleea replied.

"All right, I'll check it out" Evan said.

After finishing cleaning the kitchen, Evan then went into Aleea's room to check every corner of Aleea's room and bathroom, making sure there were no more cockroaches there.

After Evan checked his room, Aleeapun entered doubtfully and carefully.

After being sure that everything was safe, Alee also brought himself to stand under the shower that flushed him with cold water.

Aleea then prepared herself to go to the shophouse.

"Are you leaving now?" ask Evan.

"Yes, Tika must have been waiting for me," Aleea replied.

"I'll drive you!" said Evan.

"No need, I've booked a taxi" Aleea replied.

"Okay, okay" said Evan.

Aleea then took her step out of the house, while Evan just silently stared at Aleea's departure.

After Aleea had disappeared from his sight, Evanpun approached Nathan in Nathan's study.

Just as usual, Evan knocks on the door a few times before he opens it and finds Nathan reading a book in his study.

Evan then brings the scale closer to Nathan and picks up the book that Nathan is reading.

"Explain everything now!" evan told Nathan.

"I don't want to talk about it" replied Nathan who snatched his book from Evan's hands.

"But you have to explain now, Nathan!" said Evan, who took back the book that Nathan was holding.

"You...."

"Aleea's gone, and your workspace is soundproof, isn't it? so no more excuses, explain everything to me right now!" evan cuts Nathan's words.

Nathan let out a long sigh then told Evan about what happened to Aleea while they were in Paris

"I don't know who he is, whether he's really someone who's mean to Aleea or someone who knows Aleea" Nathan said.

"What do you mean someone who knows Aleea is Bryan Aditya?" evan asked who was nodding his head by Nathan.

"Who is he really and what does this have to do with Aleea?" ask Evan.

"She's Aleea's fiancee" Nathan replied, to Evan's surprise.

"Fiancee? Aleea already has a fiancee?" evan asked to confirm what he had just heard.

Nathan then explains to Evan what Rania once told him about Aleea and Bryan's relationship.

Nathan also explains what happened to Aleea when Aleea met Bryan at the bar until finally the accident involving Nathan occurred.

Throughout Nathan's story, Evan is silent. He had no idea that anything bad had really happened to Aleea's life even before Aleea had gotten involved with Nathan's lies.

"So Rania already knows our secret?" ask Evan.

"Not everything, for sure he didn't know if I hit Aleea back then" Nathan replied.

"I really didn't expect that Aleea had lived her life so heavily long ago and you even still treated her badly after you learned all that!" said Evan.

"What happened to him in the past has nothing to do with me" Nathan replied.

Evan let out a long sigh, leaning himself on the back of the chair he was sitting on.

**

Elsewhere, Aleea had just arrived at the shophouse.

"I thought you'd be on vacation for a week!" tika said as Aleea had just arrived at the shophouse.

"There's something that requires Nathan to come home soon, so we'll go home sooner" Aleea replied.

"Well, is everything okay?" tika asked who was only replied with a nod of head and a smile by Aleea.

"What about the shophouse? everything okay?" ask Aelea.

"Yes, there is no problem, it's just that I reduced some incoming orders, I'm afraid I can't handle myself if there are too many orders" replied Tika.

"You've worked so hard, Tika, you also have to take time off" Aleea said.

"We both work hard Aleea" Tika replied.

Aleea and Tika were then busy preparing the cake order that had already entered while chatting, talking about their next move.

"I've studied some of the pastries we discussed yesterday when you were in Paris, Aelea!" said Tika.

"really? have you tried to make it?" ask Aelea.

"No, I'm still trying to understand the details" Tika replied.

"What if after this we try to make it?" ask Aelea.

"Again, I seem to have understood a few things, just put it into practice!" reply Tika.

"Tika's good job!" aelea said with a smile by pointing her thumb at Tika.

After a few hours had passed, Aleea and Tika had already finished their customer orders.

They then continued to make pastry that they had previously discussed.

Aleea and Tikapun began making several pastries with different fillings.

While serving customers who came, Aleea and Tika shared the task with Tika who was more in the front, while Aleea was more often in the back.

After all, Aleea still hid herself from many people for not wanting to create any trouble that would eventually anger Nathan.

Time passed, the day was getting noon and began to smell the smell of pastry from the cake shop Aleea and Tika.

After a long wait, their new menu finally came out of the oven.

"Waaahhh the smell will definitely invite many customers, Tika!" aelea was happy.

"But it seems like some have failed!" tika said after he saw some of his homemade pastry that seemed to fail.

Aleea and Tika then tried their failed pastry, after trying it one bite, they instantly looked at each other and smiled, as if they were thinking the same thing regarding their pastry.

"It's not completely failed Tika, just the shape is a bit bad, but it feels... champion!" aelea.

"Agree," Tika replied with a nod of her head followed by the laughter of the two of them.
