Understanding Evan

A long night had passed, Nathan came out of his room early in the morning because he had trouble sleeping since last night.

While descending the stairs, Aleea had just walked out of her room dressed as usual.

"Where are you going?" nathan asked while holding Aleea's hand as Aleea went down the stairs.

"It's none of your business, don't you care about me anymore!" aelea responded by pulling her hand from Nathan.

"Even if you slap me, I won't say anything to you" Aleea continued, taking her steps away.

Nathanpun immediately ran after Aleea and held back Aleea's hand.

"There's something I want to talk about!" said Nathan.

"Tell me," Aleea retorted by pulling her hand back from Nathan.

"Rania might take you on vacation, I'm you're Rania and Evan, Evan has agreed to Rania's plan but the decision is yours" Nathan said.

"That's all?" ask Aelea.

"I won't force you to refuse Rania's invitation, but I'm sure you'll feel uncomfortable if you have to linger in front of Rania, so think carefully, I....."

"Just calm down, I'll turn it down" Aleea said, cutting Nathan's words and walking away.

Nathan simply stayed in place, staring at Aleea who was walking away leaving him.

"Where did he go so early? does he usually go this early and come home very late?" nathan asked in his heart.

"Let's know, I don't care, as long as he doesn't do anything to harm me!" nathan said then took his steps to the back garden, took the time to swim to refresh his body.

On the other hand, Aleea was already inside the taxi that drove her to the shophouse. Arriving at the shophouse there was Evan waiting for him there.

"When are you here?" aelea asked Evan who was already standing in front of her frame.

"A few minutes ago" replied Evan.

"Is there something you want to talk about?" ask Aelea.

"No, I just wanted to return something," Evan answered and opened his car and took Aleea's bag and gave it to Aleea.

"Why heavy? did you fill it with food again?" aelea asked as she weighed the bag in her hand.

Evan simply nodded his head with a smile answering Aleea's question.

"Do you want us to eat this together?" ask Aelea.

"If you don't mind" replied Evan.

"Of course not, come on in!" aelea said and opened her frame.

Aleea closed back her frame and left it slightly open. Aleea then went up to the second floor with Evan and enjoyed their breakfast on the second floor balcony.

"Waaahh, you cook better than I do!" aelea said after she tried Evan's cooking.

"No Aleea, you've always praised me excessively" Evan replied.

"I don't overdo Evan, it's so much better than my cooking!" aelea.

"How was the event at the office yesterday? is everything going well?" aelea asked.

"Yes everything went according to plan and even gave me results above my estimate" Evan replied.

"Waaaahhh, you're doing your job very well Evan" Aleea said in praise.

"Stop praising me Aleea, don't you see my head getting bigger?" said Evan which made Aleea chuckle.

Aleea and Evan enjoyed the breakfast of the two of them while chatting and occasionally joking.

"I'll wash it myself, you go before it's too late!" aelea.

"Alright, I'll leave because you kicked me out," Evan replied with a sigh.

Aleea simply smiled as he gently struck Evan on the shoulder.

"Nathan doesn't hurt you anymore, does he?" evan asked while wearing his suit that a moment ago he took off.

"No," Aleea replied by shaking her head.

"Remember Aleea, you have to tell me if Nathan hurts you again, okay?"

Aleea simply nodded her head with a smile and escorted Evan down and out of the shophouse.

"Thank you for making my stomach full this morning" Aleea said with a smile.

After Evan's departure, Alee also began to occupy himself in the shophouse while waiting for Tika's arrival.

In office. The clock was showing at 10 noon when Evan was working on his work.

After printing some documents, Evan then tidied them up, double-checked them and took them out of his room.

If Evan would usually give his report to Nathan, that day Evan gave it to Vina.

"Report of yesterday's event" said Evan while putting a map on Vina's desk.

"Shouldn't Evan give it to Nathan?" ask Vina.

"Aren't you her secretary!" reply Evan and walk away.

Vina let out a sigh and moved from her seat and brought the map to Nathan's room.

Vina knocked on the door several times before opening it and entered Nathan's room.

"This is the event report yesterday from Mr. Evan," said Vina while giving a map to Nathan.

"Why did Evan give it to you?" ask Nathan.

Vina simply shook her head by raising both of her shoulders.

"Is there anything else?" ask Nathan.

"No, excuse me," Vina replied, then moved out of her seat and out of Nathan's room.

"To act like a real employee feels annoying, making the distance between me and Nathan even more distant" Vina said in her heart with a long sigh.

On the other hand, Nathan comes out of his room to meet Evan. He felt that there were many things they had to talk about so as not to make their friendship tenuous.

But when he had just sat in front of Evan, Evan had intended to expel Nathan even before Evan brought his gaze to Nathan in the slightest.

"Go away if it's not a job you want to talk about!" evan said to Nathan with his eyes focused on the file and the laptop in front of him.

"Don't act like Evan's little boy, we....."

"It's still working hours and I'm working on my job, I hope you don't bother me!" evan cuts Nathan's words.

"All right, I'm waiting for you at the rooftop at lunchtime" Nathan said, then moved out of his seat and out of Evan's room.

Evan was silent but his tail was staring at Nathan's steps coming out of his room.

Without Nathan knowing, Evan was actually just typing since Nathan entered his room. Evan just tries to seem busy with his job and deliberately ignores Nathan.

"It's not childish, I just don't want you to go too far on Aleea, Nathan!" evan said with a long sigh.

Time passed, the clock had shown at 12 noon, but Evan was still sitting in his work chair.

His phone rang, a call came in from Nathan. Evan just smiled faintly and then moved from his seat and out of his room headed towards the elevator to go to the rooftop.

At the rooftop, Nathan is waiting for Evan to arrive. Nathan sat in the long chair there and Evan came and sat down next to Nathan.

"I'm sorry, I don't know if what happened between me and Aleea really bothers you" Nathan said as he stared at the tall buildings in front of him.

Evan just kept quiet, letting Nathan say whatever was in his head back then.

"Everything that happens is my fault Evan, you just help me to perfect my lie, I promise if Aleea ever finds out about this, she said, I'll tell him if you're completely innocent of what happened to his life" Nathan said.

"My relationship with Aleea is not good, but I know you're on good terms with her, no matter how close your real relationship is, I won't interfere, nor will I care about anything Aleea does as long as she doesn't tarnish the good name of the family and the company" Nathan continued.

Nathan let out a long sigh then brought his gaze to Evan who had been silent since.

"Say something Evan, I don't want our friendship to fall apart just because of a woman!" said Nathan.

"I know you don't love Nathan, I know you brought him into your life just to use him, I don't care what your intentions are because I'm gonna keep helping you, I know, but the only thing I ask of you is Nathan, don't ever hurt him" Evan said.

"Do you like it? or even love her?" ask Nathan.

"It's not about like or love, she's just an ordinary girl who had time to entrust her life to you, Nathan, it feels so unfair that he should get your ill-treatment after you've used him for your own sake!" reply Evan.

"I care about her, I worry about her because I feel guilty about her, I'm taking him into this lie even I made that ridiculous contract and if he ends his life with all the memories of this lie, I'll really live with Nathan's guilt!" continued Evan.

Nathan nodded his head slowly and moved from his seat.

"I understand" Nathan said.

"I won't force you to keep him, nor will I force you to love him, I'm just asking you not to hurt him Nathan, so please stop being rude to him as long as you're with him," said Evan.

Nathan nodded his head with a faint smile.

"From now on I will really not care about her, I just need her to remain my wife, but at home she is just someone else to me" Nathan said.

Evan just kept quiet, what Nathan said was not a good thing, but it was better than Nathan who constantly hurt Aleea.

"I don't want something like this to happen again Evan, our friendship is so much more important than a girl who's lost her memory, I hope you think the same thing as me, too," nathan said with his eyes on Evan who was still sitting.

Evan just kept silent by looking into Nathan's eyes, his eyes were already hinting at Evan's speech that was not heard but could be understood by Nathan.

Nathan smiled faintly and took his steps away, leaving Evan still sitting on the rooftop alone.

Time passed, the clock had already shown at 8pm when Aleea and Tika had just closed their shophouses.

"I'm actually going to take you home, but it looks like someone has already picked you up!" said Tika by bringing her eyes on the car that just stopped in front of the shophouse.

Soon the car owner came out and approached Aleea and Tika.

"Are you going home?" evan asked Aleea and Tika.

"Yes, get Aleea safely Evan, I'll go first, bye Aelea!" tika replied as she waved her hand at Aleea.

"Be careful on the road" Aleea said, replying to Tika's hand.

"Are you here to pick me up?" aelea asked Evan.

"Have you had dinner?" evan asked back.

"Already," Aleea replied with a smile as she understood the intent of Evan's question that actually wanted to invite her to dinner.

"Yeahhh I'm late, come on in!" evan said as he opened his car door for Aleea.

Evan then drives his car leaving the shophouse with Aleea sitting next to him.

Along the way they talk about many things with occasional jokes that make them laugh.

After some time on the way, Evanpun arrived at Nathan's house.

"Thank you for driving me to Evan" Aleea said before he got out of Evan's car.

"It looks like we have to make an excuse again" Evan said, staring at a spot before him.

Instantly Aleea brought her gaze towards Evan staring and found Rania standing on the porch of her house.

"Rania!"

"Let's get out before he misunderstands!" aelea got out of Evan's car.

"Rania, what are you doing here? are you looking for your brother?" aelea asked Rania.

"No, Rania is here to look for Aleea's sister" replied Rania.

"Aahhhh so, come in!" aelea.

"Why is Aleea with Evan again? where are you two from nights like this?" rania asked by looking at Aleea and Evan alternately.

Aleea and Evan instantly looked at each other before they answered Rania's question.

"Sister asked Evan to pick up Aleea," said Nathan, who had just walked out of the house, making all those who were there immediately take their eyes to Nathan.

"Aleea took a cooking class and today she came home late, because sister was busy so sister asked Evan to pick her up" explained Nathan who tried to make Rania believe in her.

"Class cooks till night like this?" rania asked with her eyes on Aleea.

"There was a seminar that the mentor held in the cooking class, so I came home late for the seminar" Aleea replied.

"Come on, baby, you must be tired!" nathan said as he hugged Aleea's shoulder.

"But Rania is waiting for me, is there anything you want to talk to me about with Rania?" aelea said as she asked Rania.

"Tomorrow, Rania will meet Aleea tomorrow morning" replied Rania.

"Okay well," Aleea said with a nod of her head.

"Thank you for picking up Aleea, Evan!" said Nathan who only answered a nod of the head by Evan.

"You should also go home to Rania!" nathan said to Rania and went into the house with Aleea.

"Let's go home!" evan tells Rania while taking his steps away, but Rania immediately runs after Evan and holds Evan's hand.

"Why? are you asking me to drive you home again?" asked Evan who only answered a nod of the head by Rania.

Rania then tells her driver if she will be going home with Evan. He opened the car door and sat down next to Evan.

Evanpun immediately drove his car away from Nathan's house.
