The ambition of Nathan

Nathan Kalandra is a man who focuses only on himself. He was obsessed with being the best of all the best.

He does not even care about others or anything that hinders his steps to achieve what he wants, for him fulfilling the peak of his satisfaction is the most important thing in his life.

Supported by the wealth of his parents, it is natural that Nathan can get whatever he wants with the great ambition that is always passionate in him.

Evan William was Nathan's only close friend since they were in school. The man who bears witness to how ambitious Nathan Kalandra is.

Their inversely proportional nature is able to make their friendship last until they grow up.

Although not infrequently they differ in opinion, but in the end Evan is the one who always relented and assented all the opinions and desires of Nathan.

As best friends, Evan can only try to hold Nathan back from crossing the line of his ambition, although sometimes he has to do things he doesn't want just to help Nathan get what Nathan wants.

As time goes on, with maturity starting to grow, Evan hopes Nathan will begin to soften slowly.

Although not easy, but Evan had hope when Nathan decided to marry Aleea, even though their marriage started with a lie.

Evan has faith in himself that a sincere love will surely make Nathan transform into a better man.

"You know me very well Evan, there has never been any love in the dictionary of my life, so there will never be any jealousy in my marriage to Aleea!" nathan said to Evan who was still in his room.

"At least don't treat him harshly Nathan, after all he's the one who's helped you solve the problem!" reply Evan.

"I was just so upset with her, I told her I didn't like sweet food, but she came and gave me cake!" said Nathan.

"You're not Nathan's kid, why are you so mad at him just for that?"

Nathan let out a long sigh and rested his head on the back of his chair.

"Vina submitted a letter of resignation and it's been a big annoyance to my mind since yesterday, maybe that's what I can't control myself!" said Nathan.

"Why did he suddenly submit a letter of resignation? could it be because of a personal matter between the two of you?" ask Evan.

"I don't know, now that I have to try to keep him here, next month's event will definitely be chaotic if our team is incomplete, you know how much influence Vina has on our team? I don't want to risk hiring someone else to replace Vina!"

"For the time being all you have to do is apologize to Aleea, she doesn't know anything about your problem and she shouldn't have gotten any rough treatment from you like that!" said Evan.

"It doesn't matter Evan, I....."

"That's important Nathan, solve your little problem before it gets bigger, once your little problem is over you can focus on your other big problem!" evan cuts Nathan's words.

Nathan sighed with a slow nod of his head.

"Well, I'll apologize to him" Nathan said.

"You have to remember Nathan, he doesn't know anything about all your lies, so at least keep your attitude!" evan said and walked out of Nathan's room.

"You care about him as much as you are his girlfriend" Nathan said as Evan walked out of his room.

Elsewhere, Aleea was in the car with her mother-in-law. Hanna deliberately invites Aleea to get into her car and drives Aleea home with her private driver and lets Aleea's private driver drive her own car without Aleea.

"What are you doing in the office, Aleea? do you see Nathan often in the office?" hanna asked Aleea.

"Only a few times ma, Aleea just wanted to give the cake that Aleea made to Nathan," Aleea replied.

"Kue? don't you know if Nathan doesn't like sweet foods?" ask Hanna.

"Aleea made the cake by reducing the sweetness of the ma, so the cake was not very sweet" Aleea replied.

"But mama didn't see the cake box in Nathan's room, instead she saw Evan carrying it" said Hanna, who kept Aleea quiet for a while.

"Mmmm.... Aleea.. gave it to Evan because Nathan didn't like it, Aleea thought that by reducing the sweetness Nathan would like it, but it turned out that Nathan still didn't like it, so Aleea gave it to Evan," Aleea explained.

"Aahh, I think you're pretty close to Evan, is that right?"

"Aleea knew Evan because he was a close friend of Nathan, just to the extent that ma," Aleea replied.

"Nathan and Evan have been friends for a long time, Evan is a good man, but I hope your closeness and Evan does not make Nathan misunderstood" Hanna said.

Aleea just nodded her head without saying anything because she didn't want her mother-in-law to misunderstand if she was talking too much.

After some time on the way, they arrived.

"Mama won't stop by because there's something else you have to do" Hanna said.

"Yes ma, thank you for driving Aleea home" said Aleea who was only met with a faint smile by Hanna.

After Aleea got out of her car, Hanna immediately asked her driver to drive her car away.

Along the way, Hanna was still thinking about what happened between Aleea and Evan because she clearly saw as Evan held Aleea's hand in the office.

Despite trying to think positively, but those negative thoughts still filled his head even after he heard Aleea's explanation.

"Am I judging Aleea too quickly? I didn't even know her very well and had only met her when Nathan wanted to marry her, had I misjudged her?" hanna asked in her heart.

Hanna let out a rough sigh then picked up the phone that was in her bag.

"I've got to figure out everything about him, I don't want Nathan to pick a wife wrong, before they have a kid that's gonna make it hard for Nathan to let go!" hanna.

Hanna then sends Aleea's photo to someone and contacts him.

"His name is Aleea Zanitha, quickly find out all about her!" hanna said when her call was answered.

"Good boss!"

The call ended, Hanna put her phone back in the bag.

"I should have done this before agreeing to their marriage" Hanna said.

Hanna's memory instantly recounted her first encounter with Aleea. At that time he only saw Aleea as a beautiful woman with a good heart.

But when he saw Aleea hand in hand with Evan, all of a sudden all of the negative thoughts about Aleea filled his head and of course it bothered him a lot.

After some time on the way, Hannapun arrived at his house. Just as he got out of the car, his head suddenly felt dizzy and blood dripped from his nose.

Realizing that her nose was bleeding, Hanna immediately cleaned it up before anyone saw it.

"Mama just got home?" rania asked who had just opened her door when she heard the sound of a car entering her yard.

"Yes," Hanna replied briefly as she walked quickly past Rania with her head lowered.

"Mama why?" rania asked while following in the footsteps of her mother.

"Mama wants to go to the toilet, mama has been holding it since then," Hanna replied lying as she ran into her room and closed the door and went into the bathroom and locked it.

Inside the bathroom, Hanna immediately took off her clothes and cleaned up the blood on her clothes.

Nathan then walked into his room, after bathing and changing clothes, he immediately took his steps towards Aleea's room, knocking on the door a few times before the door finally opened.

"Are you mad at me?" nathan asked Aleea who was still standing in the slightly open doorway.

"I'm not feeling well, so hold your emotions for a while and let me rest" Aleea said without answering Nathan's question.

"I'll take you to the hospital if....."

"No need, I just want to take a break" Aleea said, cutting Nathan's speech.

"Alright, rest up" Nathan said, taking his steps away.

Aleea only let out a long sigh and then closed the door of her room and laid her body back on the bed.

While Nathan enjoyed his own dinner without caring for Aleea who was lying limp in his room.

As a man who is not experienced in dealing with women, Nathan does not have sensitivity in him, even arguably he is a cold-hearted man.

The day had changed, Nathan came out of his room and enjoyed his breakfast by himself.

Usually, shortly after Nathan had breakfast, Aleea came and accompanied him. But that morning, Nathan finished his meal alone without Aleea.

"Is he still sleeping? looks like I should delay to talk about the matter yesterday!"

Nathan then gets out of his house, drives his car to go to the office without caring for Aleea who is feverish in his room.

Arriving at the office, he immediately did his job as usual. At exactly 8am, he had a meeting with Evan, Vina and several other employees.

The short meeting ended at exactly 9, and everyone else came out of the meeting room, except Evan who stopped Nathan and Vina who were curious about what Evan was going to say to Nathan.

"Meeting is done Vina, come out!" evan told Vina.

Vina simply rolled her eyes and walked out of the meeting room.

"Have you apologized to Aleea?" ask Nathan.

"Not yet" replied Nathan briefly.

"Didn't I tell you to solve your little problem before....."

"I know Evan, but I didn't have time to apologize to him, he was lying in his room from last night and hadn't left the room until I left for the office" Nathan interrupted Evan's remarks.

"Is he okay?" ask Evan.

"Why are you so worried about him? do you like it?" nathan asked back.

"I care about her because I'm participating in the lie you planned on her Nathan, I would feel so guilty if I let her suffer as long as she married you!" obviously Evan.

"There's no need to overdo Evan, if I don't make her my wife, what will happen to her now? will he live his life better when he doesn't remember anything about him?"

"That's no reason to make you treat him badly Nathan, after all you're guilty of hitting him!"

"I wouldn't have hit him if he hadn't run off into the middle of the highway when the traffic light was on Evan's green!" nathan responded by raising his voice.

Evan let out a long sigh, trying to hold back his emotions so as not to make Nathan lose control even more.

"I won't blame you for the accident, but at least respect her as your wife even if you don't love her, Nathan" Evan said.

"I had intended to apologize to Evan, but he who didn't want me to disturb, he felt unwell and chose to lie down in his room, I offered to accompany her to the hospital but she refused!" said Nathan.

"Is he sick?" ask Evan.

"Just need rest, not really pain, so there's no need to overdo it!" nathan answered and walked away from Evan.

After Nathan left, Evan contacted Aleea, but there was no answer.

Evan then contacted Aleea's place for cooking classes, to determine whether Aleea was there or not and it turned out that Aleea had permission not to take cooking classes that day.

Not there, Evan then called Nathan's home number.

"Halo Bi, this is Evan" said Evan after his call was received by his aunt.

"Oh Mr Evan, what's wrong, sir?"

"Nathan told Evan that Aleea was not feeling well, did Aleea come out of her room?"

"Non Aleea hasn't been out of the room since yesterday afternoon sir," replied the aunt.

"Can aunt check her condition? Evan's been trying to reach her but can't bi."

"Okay sir, auntie will try to check it out" replied the aunt.

After the call ended, Evan then walked out of the meeting room, waiting for aunt to contact him to tell him the state of Aleea.

Evan sat in his study, staring at the computer screen before him anxiously as it worried Aleea.

Shortly thereafter,

biiiiippp biiiipp biiiiippp

Evan's phone rang, a message came in from Aleea.

"I'm fine Evan, sorry my phone's lowbat and I just found out."

Evan immediately contacted Aleea.

"Hello Aleea, are you okay?" ask Evan without further ado.

"I'm fine, Evan, why do you worry so much about me?" reply Aleea.

"Nathan told me that if you're not okay and your voice sounds too weak, shouldn't you go to Aleea's hospital?"

"There's no need for Evan, I just need to rest" Aleea replied.

"Have you taken any medicine?" ask Evan.

"Mmmm, not yet" Aleea replied.

"If you don't want to go to the hospital, you have to eat and take Aleea's medicine, don't make things worse" Evan said.

"Why are you so considerate of me, Evan? Nathan doesn't even care about me!"

"You're wrong Aleea, Nathan is worried about you a lot, but he doesn't want to bother you and let you rest in the room" Evan said.

"Is it really like that?" aelea asked in disbelief.

"Of course, I could see his worries when he told me you weren't okay" Evan told a lie.
