A Glance of Memory

A long night had passed, early in the morning Nathan woke up and immediately came out of Evan's room.

Nathan goes to the kitchen, makes a warm drink and then takes it to the terrace, enjoying the morning air with a thin fog that is still visible in front of the villa.

In his head still crossed all the events that happened last night between Evan and Rania. All this time Nathan knew, Evan and Rania were very close because Evan had considered Rania like his own sister.

But as time goes on, making Rania's mindset change, Rania begins to consider more of Evan's attention to her.

Nathan let out a long breath and sipped his warm drink.

"What makes you take a deep breath early in the morning like this?" asked Evan who suddenly came and sat down beside Nathan.

"Are Rania and Aleea awake?" nathan asked back.

"It looks like Aleea is in the kitchen with her aunt and Rania still sleeping" Evan replied.

"What's wrong with you? is there a problem? it's like you're thinking of something!" evan asked.

"Evan, as long as we're best friends, how come I've never seen you have a boyfriend, you still like girls, don't you?" nathan asked who made Evan immediately kick Nathan's foot slowly.

"Hahaha... I just thought about it, you're so nice, smart, rich and pretty handsome, but why don't you ever have a boyfriend?"

"I spend too much time with you, too much of what you tell me that leaves me no free time to think about it" Evan replied.

"Did you not have time for that until now?" ask Nathan.

"I don't know, I'm not thinking about it, I'm used to living alone like this, living whatever I want without anyone trying to control me" Evan replied.

"What if I introduce you to someone?" nathan asked who made Evan frown.

"You know I don't have a lot of female clients, not a few of them are still on their own and want to have a one-frequency companion with them so I think you'll fit in with one of them" Nathan explained.

"When have you thought about that, Nathan? I'm not even interested in discussing such a thing at all!"

"I'm just worried about you, as a friend, I'm afraid my best friend will become an old bachelor later hahaha." Nathan laughed back.

"I'm just going to start a relationship with someone who really made me fall in love with him, I'm not going to start if I'm not sure about the end of that relationship" Evan said.

"You wouldn't know if you hadn't tried Evan!" said Nathan.

"For me there was no attempt in starting Nathan's relationship, if I was sure then I would start it and end it with marriage" Evan replied.

"So...have you not intended to start yet?" ask Nathan.

"I won't start before I'm sure that what I started will end happily, Nathan!" answer Evan.

"But wouldn't we know how the end of something we started?" ask Nathan.

"You're right, but at least we can work on it if we already have the goal" Evan replied.

Nathan nodded his head slowly. During this time he and Evan had never talked about such a thing and Nathan only understood about how Evan thought about his future with someone who would be his life partner.

"Maybe you have to find that person Evan soon, so that Rania can stop wishing for you" Nathan said in his heart.

Shortly afterwards Aleea came, asking Nathan and Evan to come in because aunt had just finished preparing breakfast.

"Is Rania not awake yet?" ask Evan to Aleea.

"Auntie just woke her up, it might be coming out soon" Aleea replied.

Sure enough, before long Rania was seen walking towards the dining table with the look of her face that still looked sleepy.

Yawning, Rania carried herself sitting beside Aleea.

"You're so ugly, Rania, didn't you wash your face before you left the room?" nathan meledek.

"Be quiet, sister, Rania is not kidding," replied Rania ketus.

"You are beautiful with what you are Rania, you don't have to try to be someone else just to attract someone's attention" Evan said.

"Sir Evan does have a good view, unlike Nathan's brother who can only see bad things!" rania sneered at Nathan.

"Already... already...let's eat," said Aleea.

They enjoyed their breakfast quietly.

"How are you doing, Aleea? is it better?" ask Evan to Aleea.

"I've been able to walk well Evan, it's been no pain at all" Aleea replied with a smile.

"That means this morning we can go to the strawberry garden together!" rania was happy.

After finishing their meal, they sat on the terrace to enjoy the morning air while waiting for the fog to go.

"Rania can't sleep well, sister" Rania told Evan.

"Why? because of the incident...."

"Goddessstttt......" Rania placed her index finger on her lips, giving Evan a code to not continue.

"Rania is cold despite wearing clothes and thick blankets" said Rania reasoned.

"Is this better?" evan asked as he hugged Rania from behind.

"Tighter brother!" rania was happy.

Evanpun hugged Rania even tighter and then lifted her up and twisted her body several times.

"Aaaaaa......." Rania shouts with excitement at what Evan did to her.

"Aaahh it feels a little dizzy, but it's nice hehe.." said Rania while holding her head.

Evan then patted Rania on the head with a smile. He deliberately did that to make Rania cheerful again after what happened last night.

Evan thinks that maybe Rania is hiding her sadness because of Rania who is trying to attract someone's attention, but by making herself a different figure from her true self.

As someone who puts herself as an older sister to Rania, Evan is just trying to make Rania remain a cheerful spoiled girl without the heavy burden she thinks.

On the other hand, Aleea simply smiled seeing what Evan and Rania were doing. While Nathan just stared silently with a flat face.

As close as Nathan and Evan can be, Nathan won't agree if Rania really has a special relationship with Evan.

For Nathan, enough Evan to be part of his family, to be a sister to Rania without having to have any further relationship than that.

Not because Evan was not good enough according to Nathan, but Nathan thought if it happened, then there would be awkwardness and other problems between them would be more likely.

Whatever happens, Nathan just wants to keep his friendship with Evan okay without involving the relationship too far between Evan and Rania.

The four of them walked towards the back of the villa to head to the strawberry garden there.

"Notice your steps, the path is a little slippery because of the dew," Evan said as they passed through the cobbled road behind the villa.

"What if Evan's brother carries Rania?" ask Rania.

"It will only make us fall together with Rania," replied Evan who made Rania chuckle.

Finally, they arrived at the strawberry garden. Evan and Rania walked towards one of the trails and started picking strawberries and putting them on the small basket that Rania was carrying.

Nathan and Aleea walked the other path with Aleea carrying a small basket in her hand.

Unlike Evan and Rania who often chatted and even joked to laugh, Aleea and Nathan were more silent without chatting.

"Your cold attitude will make Rania suspicious, Aleea!" nathan said slowly.

Aleea was silent, after all Nathan's treatment of him, Aleea already did not consider Nathan as someone he had loved, what more husband for him.

He was too lazy to perform like a romantic husband and wife with Nathan. What Nathan did to her could not be lost for a second from his memory.

Even for Aleea, her memories remembered more painful and distressing things about her relationship with Nathan than romantic relationships.

"I'll force you if you can't cooperate well with Aleea, won't you agree to this yourself?"

"I agreed to it for Rania, didn't I....."

"Kaakkk, are you all right? why are you whispering?" rania asked with her eyes on Aleea and Nathan.

"It's Rania, let them have their own world, you don't know what their love language is" said Evan, who immediately grabbed Rania by the shoulder and took Rania away from Aleea and Nathan.

"What is the language of love?" ask Rania to Evan.

"You'll find out when you find the right man for you" Evan replied.

Evan accidentally takes Rania away from Aleea and Nathan as he knows, it must be difficult for Aleea and Nathan to have a show after what they both experienced.

After a long time picking strawberries, the four of them took it to the gazebo near the strawberry garden.

Aleea and Rania wash the strawberries they have picked and bring them back to the gazebo and enjoy them with Nathan and Evan.

"It feels very nice to stay here even if it's only a few days" said Rania while enjoying strawberries.

"Maybe we can come back here again if there's time" Evan said.

"Agreed!" reply Rania excitedly.

"So, when are you going back to Paris, Rania?" ask Aelea.

"Mmmm... for Rania can not be sure sister," replied Rania.

"But didn't you say yesterday......"

"Hehe.. sorry sister, Rania was just trying to make Brother Aleea agree to Rania hehe's invitation." said Rania cut Aleea speech.

"You lied to me?" ask Aelea.

"Not entirely lying, Rania does want to vacation here before Rania returns to Paris, only Rania does not know when will return to Paris," he replied.

Aleea only sighed to hear Rania's reply. If you knew that, Aleea would not be willing to accept Aleea's invitation to go on vacation.

"You should apologize to Rania, you've made Aleea misunderstand!" evan told Rania.

"I'm sorry Rania, Rania doesn't mean to lie to Aleea" Rania said, hugging Aleea.

Aleea simply smiled without saying anything because after all everything had already happened.

Time passed, at exactly 2pm, they left the villa. Evan sat in the back with Rania, while Aleea sat in the front with Nathan driving her car.

They chatted and occasionally joked with laughter on the way home. But in the middle of the journey, suddenly a car from the opposite direction eating the road that makes Nathan immediately press his horn in surprise.

The distance of Nathan's car and the car in front of him that was eating the road was very close at that time, making Aleea who was in front immediately screamed when the car almost collided.

Aleea closed her eyes, lowering her head by covering both her ears. It was then that a sudden glimpse of the memory swirled in Aleea's head.

It's like being in the same situation, but at a different time. The same fear returned Aleea felt back then, as the memory brought Aleea back in the moments Aleea had an accident.

Faintly Aleea recalled the incident, she crouched down to pick up something and suddenly sounded a long horn that made Aleea bring her gaze to the side and the next second her body had already bounced and hit the pavement.

The clamor of the horn and the cries of those around him were still very clearly audible even though Aleea's gaze was faint, even he could not clearly see a man who got out of the car and approached him.

Nathan managed to escape his car from the car that almost hit his car, immediately brought his car pulled over.

Not only Nathan and Aleea, Evan and Rania were no less surprised by what had just happened.

But more visibly shocked at the time was Aleea, holding her head in pain by continuing to lower her head even after Nathan pulled over her car.

The flash of memory that swirled in his head, made Aleea feel his head was so sore, especially as he tried hard to dig further into his memories of the accident that had happened to him.

"Aleea, are you okay?" nathan asked with Aleea's shoulder.

"My head hurts, '" Aleea replied whimpering, still holding her head.

Seeing that, Evan immediately got out of the car by inviting Rania to move into a sitting position.

Evan immediately opened the door beside Aleea and helped Aleea to get out of the car.

"Sit in the back with Nathan, Aleea!" evan said while helping Aleea to sit on the back bench.

Nathanpun came out and moved into a sitting position next to Aleea. Evan is now sitting behind the wheel with Rania sitting next to him.

"Are you hit by something? are you hurt?" nathan asked Aleea who was still holding her head.

"No... I just... I. remember the accident," replied Aleea.

Nathan immediately brought his gaze to Evan who was also paying attention to Aleea's situation.

They looked at each other for a while, worried that Aleea would remember everything.

"What do you remember Aleea? did you see who hit you back then?" ask Nathan.

"I can't see it, everything looks faint and....."

Aleea's speech came to a halt as Aleea suddenly collapsed and Nathan swiftly restrained Aleea's fainted body beside him.
