The afternoon sky turned red, as cars carrying Reno and Dimas rolled through densely populated neighborhoods. They entered a small paved street, with houses crammed together. Electrical cables seem to hang irregularly, even though many children play kites on the side of the road.
The atmosphere of dense settlements is still crowded, many people carry out activities outside. Reno parked the car on the side of the road. He still has trouble finding the address of Jenny Veronica Lubis who was allegedly murdered a few days ago. Reno showed the address to a little boy about 10 years old, but he shook his head.
“The address is a bit difficult to find,” complained Reno.
“Try asking the mother!” dimas said while pointing at a woman who seemed to come home shopping.
They immediately asked for the address. The mother scrunched her forehead, remembered something, and then she smiled.
“Oh Ma'am Jenny, who's that student? Who likes to wear sexy clothes?” said the mother.
“Please can be shown the address, Bu?” ask Reno.
The mother nodded, then hinted for Reno and Dimas to follow her down the street. They entered a narrow alley flanked by lined houses. The alley was winding, rather long.
“House is at the end of the alley there, sir. The paint is green. But it looks like the guy doesn't exist. There was only her grandmother,” the mother explained.
Reno and Dimas said thank you. They immediately headed for the house in question. A small house, with a closed door. Like uninhabited, because the terrace looks dirty and dusty.
Reno knocked on the door several times, until an old woman opened the door. He was wearing thick glasses, with gnarled veils on his face.
“Who do you meet, Sir?” ask the old woman.
“Sorry Mom, we want to meet Jenny. Is this really his home?” ask Reno.
“Iya true. But Jenny's not around, sir. It's been a few days to go on holiday out of town with his friends. I have not heard anything myself either. What's up, sir?” the woman began to wonder.
“Can we come in, Mom?” ask Reno for permission.
“Oh yes, please!”
Reno and Dimas enter the narrow living room, with a set of ancient guest chairs. The old woman looked at them curiously. He was worried something bad happened to Jenny. Actually, Reno could not bear to tell Jenny's condition for now. However, as a police officer he has a duty to tell the truth to the victims' families.
After strengthening their hearts, Reno told them that they found a corpse floating in the lake. After checking the fingerprints, it was most likely Jenny's body. They asked the old woman to identify if it was really Jenny.
That same afternoon, Jenny's grandmother went to the hospital where Jenny's body was autopsied. After seeing the characteristics shown, Jenny's grandmother made sure that the floating body was indeed Jenny, her grandson. Her tears broke. He did not expect that something very bad happened to his grandson. Reno and Dimas tried to calm down, but there was nothing to do. They let the old woman satisfy her grief.
“Maybe we postpone the interview. Let the grandmother take care of the return of her grandson's body for burial,” whispered Dimas.
“Iya. It's better that way. For now, his grandmother's condition is still taking a hit. Maybe we can find information from other places first,” said Reno.
News of Jenny's death soon spread, as her identity was known. Moreover, Jenny's grandmother has taken care of the return of her grandson's body to be buried. Neighbors immediately cheered when they heard that Jenny had died. Preparations for the seizing were immediately carried out by chopping up, considering Jenny's grandmother lived alone.
As usual, Gilda Anwar of Channel-9 went on a news hunt as soon as she learned of the identity of the dead body of the girl floating in the lake a few days ago. Accompanied by Wandi, he immediately slid into the house of Jenny's grandmother who was packed with mourners. He wanted to interview Jenny's grandmother.
Unfortunately the arrival of Gilda Anwar is not welcomed by the surrounding community, considering Jenny's grandmother is still in a state of mourning, so it has not been found. Strictly speaking, Mr. RT local expelled Gilda Anwar who was considered to have no empathy at times like this.
“Viewers, finally the mystery of the identity of the corpse of the woman floating on the lake a few days ago began to unfold. Police have identified the body as 20-year-old Jenny Veronica Lubis, who lives inside the alley. Police have not informed the motive for the killing and have not yet named any suspects behind the killing. We'll keep an eye on this case exclusively on Channel-9. Gilda Anwar reports,” Gilda Anwar said confidently.
Braaak!
“Sial!” swearing Rudi while hitting the table. He happened to be watching a television broadcast in the living room.
He immediately shut down the broadcast. His feelings are not calm. He did not expect that Jenny's body would float and be found. This means that the investigation will begin soon. The parasite looks anxious.
“Why are you, Rud?” asked Nayya who suddenly came while carrying two cups of coffee.
The plan was to watch a movie together, but suddenly Rudi turned anxious. Nayya was curious about something that had just happened, because just a moment before they were still joking around.
“Oh, it's okay,” replied Rudi.
He tried to calm his mind, but it seemed to fail. He still looks nervous and panicked. Nayya was more surprised by the change in Rudi's attitude.
“We so watch?” ask Nayya.
“I thought I'd put it off first, Nayya. Sorry yeah. I'm just gonna take a break. My head's dizzy. You can not just go home,” pinta Rudi.
“Kok suddenly that? You're all right? If it hurts, let me call the doctor,” said Nayya.
“I'm fine, Nayya. You just go home, right? Sorry, my mind is fucked up today. Please, are you home?”
Nayya had no other choice but to leave Rudi who was looking chaotic. He was worried, but could do nothing. He simply nodded, then left Rudi in the uneasiness he was experiencing.
After Nayya died, Rudi really felt unsettled. He's pacing and agitated. Not to mention his calm mind, his phone shook as there was an incoming call from Gerry. Soon he picked up the call.
“Mamp*us us, Rud! Did you see the TV broadcast? The police have identified Jenny's body. Soon we will all be called to the police station and questioned. How's this?” gerry said across the street.
“Maybe we should calm down, Ger. Can't panic. Let's just be honest, that we dumped the body in the lake. How?”
“What crazy! Not ah! I don't wanna go along. Throwing Jenny's body into the lake was your idea. You are the one responsible!” reject Gerry.
“But did you all agree that night?”
“I don't want to get involved anymore. The point! That's all your business! You brought trouble to my house. Why are you carrying Jenny all over?” furious Gerry.
“Ger, it can't be you. Anyway I'll drag your names all!”
Rudi hung up immediately. His mind's getting fucked. The police will obviously be looking for her, as she was the last one seen with Jenny that night.
