Murder In The Old Castle

Murder In The Old Castle
163. Water Faucet

Tok .. tok .. tok!

Tok .. tok .. tok!

The sound of knocking on the door rang out in succession, shocking Reno who was asleep from exhaustion. He looked at the wall clock that pointed at the number three over fifteen minutes. Cold weather pierces the skin. Reno wore a white bone cardigan, then opened the door. He only realized that tonight he had a turn to stand guard with Mr. Paiman. Unfortunately, sleepiness forced him to sleep for a moment.

“Sorry, Sir. I'm reporting that it's safe tonight. I want to rest for a moment, Sir,” said Mr. Paiman.

Reno simply nodded, letting Mr. Paiman pass from before him. He prepared everything for the early hours of that day. He slipped a gun around his waist and a flashlight. He did not want the patrol activities this time known to the residents of the isolation house.

First of all, it runs all over the quiet corner of the first floor. All indoor lights are turned off, except for headlights. The living room looks creepy, because antique ornaments seem to be able to talk. The dining room is like that too. The rooms are all closed, nothing suspicious.

He went to the kitchen, found the kitchen lights still on. He saw a glass with half-filled water on the kitchen table. Some had just been drinking, but not spent. The rest seemed ordinary. Suddenly he heard the sound of faucets being lit in the sink of the dishwasher.

Reno rushed over and said,” Bu Mariyati?”

Unfortunately there was nobody in the sink. Not even the faucet is turned on. So what sounds did he hear? He heard very clearly the sound of water flowing from the faucet a moment ago, then why did it suddenly disappear as if nothing had happened?

Reno sighed. The feeling is not good. He did not want to stay in the kitchen any longer, so he decided to leave. Suddenly at the kitchen door he runs into Alex.

“Eh, Sir!” said Alex.

“Kok woke up this time, Lex?” ask Reno.

“I ... I'm thirsty, Sir. How is the air in the hot room? Want to drink first!” alex said as he went to the kitchen, opened the refrigerator door, poured a glass of water and immediately downed it.

Reno scrunched his forehead. Before he leaves Alex he orders,”Be careful!”

The young policeman then went up to the second floor to continue patrols throughout the house. On the second floor there is a balcony that allows to see the situation around the house. Reno took the time to head to that place while watching the surroundings. That night, it looked very quiet. From the balcony he saw almost nothing, only darkness.

After making sure everything was safe, he was about to return to the room to continue the rest, because tomorrow morning his task would be taken over by Dimas. He passed through the rooms once more to make sure things were right.

When passing through Miranti's room, he was somewhat astonished because the door of the room opened a little. He was curious, then knocked on the door.

Tok .. tok .. tok!

“Miranti, you are inside?” ask Reno.

There was no reply from Miranti, but the door was not closed. Suspicion grows. Instinct as a police officer says something is wrong. He opened Miranti's room, found the girl lying on the floor motionless.

“Gosh!”

Soon Reno checked on the girl, who knew she was still alive. Unfortunately, he did not feel a pulse on his wrist. The girl looks weak. He looked towards Miranti's neck which was scarlet, like a giggle. He guessed that the girl's death was still not too long ago, as he felt a slight warmth in his body.

As a police officer he cannot panic in the face of this situation. Soon he covered Miranti with a blanket, touching nothing before further inspection. He sees Miranti's room key still hanging in place, no forced break-ins. This means Miranti accidentally opened the door before she was killed.

To sterilize Miranti's room, Reno locked the door. He returned to his own room with a sense of uncertainty. As a policeman, he felt more and more a failure. He had promised to keep the security of the residents of this isolation house, but in fact there were victims killed.

Guilt kept him awake until morning. This feeling is the same as what he felt when Fani was killed. He told Fani to look after Gerry that night, causing the woman to be killed. Now, it's as if the killer's been stealing it again with Miranti's murder.

He tries to think clearly and calm his mind. Soon he contacted Dimas to come to the isolation house with a medical team and a number of police officers from the criminal division to investigate further killings.

At that time, Dimas was also sleeping through dreamland. The phone is deliberately set in silent mode, so the phone only vibrates when Reno contacts. The phone was placed on a table near the bed. In case there's an emergency call. As a police officer he should be ready to be called at any time, like in the early hours of today.

Dimas heard the vibrations of his cell phone, then yawned and rubbed his eyes, trying to restore a jarring awareness. It was almost four o'clock, Dimas grabbed a cell phone, found Reno's name calling him. His feelings are not calm. If Reno calls at this hour, there must be an unusual occurrence.

“What's up, Ren?” asked Dimas on the sidelines of his sleepiness.

“Dim, Miranti killed. Looks like someone's strangling his neck. I keep it a secret so as not to cause panic. Tomorrow before leaving here you coordinate with the investigation and medical team to evacuate yes,” said Reno.

“Gosh!”

Choked dimas. Just one night in the isolation house, there's been a new murder victim. He hopes to get to the isolation now. He was worried about everything that was happening there.

“Do I need to go there now, Ren?” ask Dimas.

“Not necessary. Just wait for morning. I locked the room. Your arrival will cause panic. I will try to trace the case quietly, so that the killer does not run anywhere. CCTV rooms were also sabotaged. The bothered situation. And I suggest to you, to get used to the strange things that are happening here,” Reno said.

“Hall-odd things? What do you mean?”

“So please, maybe hallucinate me for being tired or something. But if you experience too, it means I am not fantasizing,” said Reno.

“Hmm, you make me curious, Ren!”

“Hopefully not a serious right, Dim. Lupain. We're just focusing on the investigation here. Oya, don't let them get out of the isolation house for a while. I deeply regret Miranti's death, even though she had previously escaped attempted murder, in fact she was still killed with no resistance. What we face is not a mediocre person,” said Reno.

“Ready, Ren! It seems I can't wait to jump right in and bend the perpetrator with my own hands. I'm boos. We think we are fools. Like messing!” furious Dimas.

“Patience, Dim! The important thing is to make sure the safety of the children first, lest there are new victims fall. Our reputation will plummet if the public knows there are casualties again, because this isolation program is an initiative of the police,” Reno said.

“Any Boss-ku!”
