Murder In The Old Castle

Murder In The Old Castle
111. Funeral

The eight students sat in a circle in a park chair on the campus. It was still early in the morning, not so hot. The big trees that grew there, shaded from the shining sun. They looked serious about something, in a slightly whispered voice. The only one who could not attend the meeting was Ferdy, because he had to work in a pharmacy.

“As you know, the police already know Jenny's identity. That means we have to get ready. One day the police will call us one by one or maybe even simultaneously. Because Jenny's grandmother must have told me the last time Jenny came out with me. I can no longer lie, because it will make it difficult for me later in the day,” said Rudi.

“That's! I told you from the beginning to tell us to report to the police. If I think this will be a complicated affair. We are all suspects,” complained Alex.

“Denger ya Lex, we're here no use regretting what has happened. This is an unavoidable reality. We have to accept the consequences. Remember that! We're all! Not just me!” refute Rudi.

“I'm sorry to come to your party!” miranti said spontaneously.

“Rudi true. Now we have to think about the next step. Are we being honest with the police? Didn't we kill Jenny? So honestly, if at that time we were confused because we found a corpse in the bathroom. Surely the police know how,” said Gerry.

“The problem is not understood or not understood. If the police were your own family, you would understand. But everything in this country has a law. It could be that what we do is against the law, as it is considered to be eliminating evidence of murder, whatever the reason!” bright Alex.

Everyone was silent at Alex's words. Their minds are dead-end, unable to think any further. Well, what worries them is the snare of the law. They hope they escape the law because they dump bodies into the lake.

“I have an idea,” Gerry said later.

“Hopefully good idea, not silly idea anymore!” miranti.

“Begini. We better be honest that night we were really confused, and did not know how to. The body was suddenly in the bathroom, and just said we had no ill intentions at all. We're just afraid of dealing with the police, right? I'm gonna go get help from Om Ramlan, my family's lawyer who has a lot of channels on the force. Let him arrange for us to escape the snare of the law. How?” gerry's Proposal.

They didn't answer anything, because they were basically confused about what to do. In their hearts, they agree that all means are done as long as this case does not proceed to legal problems. They are, after all, ordinary young people with the law, who act on emotions, without thinking about their future impact.

“This afternoon, Jenny is buried in a public cemetery near her home. We better come to show some condolences. What if we come together? Times like this we have to be compact and trust each other. Because this is our problem together,” Adinda said.

“I agree. We have to come to Jenny's funeral,” Alex added.

“Okay, can I not attend? This afternoon I had to take my mom to the clinic, because my sister was out of town. Can ya?” alma Pinta.

“Your mother is still sick, Darling?” ask Gerry.

“Ngak. But you have to control every week, Ger.”

“Ya. Alma can't come to the funeral this afternoon. The others should come. Ferdy is also working again, so automatically he does not come too,” said Rudi.

They agreed with the newly made decision. That afternoon, they used two cars, went to the village cemetery which had been crowded with mourners. It seems Jenny's body was about to be buried. There is a fear in the minds of young people when setting foot in a funeral. Even during the day, they felt a sinister aura there.

“Not really thought that Jenny would die young huh? I'm not ready if I have to die young,” muttered Lena.

“Ngaco ah! Males really talk so!” sewot Lena's.

They followed the funeral with shahdu. Jenny's grandmother looked sad, looked swept by the neighbors. Rudi did not dare to appear too close, because he felt guilty about what happened. He invited Jenny that night to attend a new year's party at Gerry's house. Of course, if there was anyone to blame, it would have been him.

After the funeral was over, they did not want to linger in the cemetery. Without wasting much time, they immediately got in the car, without saying anything. They returned to their homes with mixed feelings.

Alma was getting ready in front of the dresser, rubbing her lips with natural lipstick. His face was smooth, he was sweeping it with a thin powder. Although going to the hospital, he felt it was important to keep up appearances. Her mother had diabetes mellitus, so she had to see a doctor every week.

“His makeup, Alma! Night of the afternoon!” tegus Mama Alma.

“Iya Mah's. A little more!”

Alma hurriedly finished her grooming event, then snatched the small bag. Her mother was ready in the car, waiting for Alma to drive.

“Nyetir slowly yes!” said Mama.

Alma nodded. The white sedan was out of the garage, then hurtled towards the hospital a bit away from home. The road conditions were quite crowded that afternoon, but Alma was able to cope well. He enjoyed the afternoon atmosphere, while playing music from the car radio.

Arriving at the hospital, Alma parked the car in an underground parking lot. The hospital building looks great. They had to take the elevator to the lobby. After signing up, they had to wait in the waiting room. Unfortunately, one of the nurses said that the doctor had only arrived at six in the afternoon because of sudden business. Alma snorted annoyedly.

“So how is it? We go home or wait. The house is quite far loh, not to mention getting jammed.”

“We are waiting, Alma. Can you get your bottle of water in the car? While buying snacks if there is,” Mama's orders.

“Iya Ma. Mom just wait here!”

Alma descended back into the dark underground parking space, as it was late in the afternoon. The lights have not been lit, the atmosphere is very quiet. He almost forgot where his car was parked. Not to mention he found his car, he heard footsteps as they followed. At first he didn't care, because he thought it might be someone else who also parked the car.

But when he looked back, he saw no one behind him. So whose move is that? He started to creep. He sped up, wanting to find his car. His feeling is uncomfortable. Perhaps in a panic, he went wrong into the hallway. His car was not found there. Alma did not lose his mind, he used an automatic key, so his car rang.

Tiit .. tiiit .. tiit!

His car roared on the other side. He immediately turned towards the sound of his car roaring, but the footsteps were also becoming clearer, even as the sound of running. Fortunately, he soon arrived near the car. However, his steps came to a halt, when he suddenly saw a hoodie figure, with a covered face standing fixed not far in front of him!
