Murder In The Old Castle

Murder In The Old Castle
LI. Hell Cousin

Cornellio squinted, trying to see more clearly who the killer was from his hiding place. Unfortunately, due to the inadequate lighting system, he could not see perfectly. There was the sound of an iron door opening, then the figure simply disappeared. Cornellio ventured out of hiding, again following the winding passage in front of him. He did not know where this hallway ended, he just followed his instincts to keep going.

After circling around, he instead returned to his starting place. For that, immediately return to the top through the window in the kitchen. He breathed a sigh of relief when he got to the top. Suddenly he heard a familiar voice greeting him.

“What do you do these nights?” helen asked who was suddenly there.

“Oh, no Helen. I ... I'm just interested in looking down,” elak Cornellio.

“I think you should be careful. The castle situation is unfavorable. Excessive curiosity can be devastating. I suggest you return to the room immediately before anyone sees you,” Helen said.

Cornellio nodded quickly. He didn't want to talk to Helen anymore. He also did not say what he saw in the basement. Reminds Ammar's message that he must not trust other residents, because anyone can be a suspect. There was no choice but to go back to the room.

When he arrived in the room, he could not close his eyes. He felt anxious. Because the killer is currently out there. When all residents close their eyes, the killer even guerrilla to find prey, waiting carelessly for other residents.

He still couldn't figure out how Mariah Alray could be in that basement. His instincts rose to the rescue, unfortunately a sense of trepidation was also present. If there was Ammar, things would be easier. His mind was chaotic, however he could not allow evil to happen in plain sight. Soon he got up from his bed, picked up the firearm in the closet.

He realized that he could not use the weapon, but he had to save someone. Like a detective, he settles out of the room slowly, with a pistol clasped in his hand. Based on the reading sources he had read, the gun he held was a type of revolver magnum. Only, he did not understand any further about the specifications. He only hopes to use the weapon well if pressed.

He exited through the side door, slipping into the kitchen to see if Helen was still there. The middle-aged woman was no longer there. Arriving in the kitchen, he opened the window again, down into the basement. The atmosphere was still quiet and stuffy. There was no sign of anyone else in that place. He immediately drove to the room where Mariah was held. Look around, it looks safe.

The room in which Mariah was held appeared to be slightly open, with the padlock still hanging on the door. Cornellio peeked out from behind the wall. He thinks the killer is now in the room. Immediately he approached the room, with a pistol clasped in hand. He peeked a little in the room, but there was no one there.

Where is Mariah? Must have been the killer moving it!

His curiosity deepened to see the conditions in the empty room. He hopes to find something in there. Slowly he stepped into the room. There was only a wooden table, and black gloves on it. Mariah's figure wasn't in that place.

Blaam!

Click!

Suddenly the door closed. Cornellio was shocked. He looked back, finding himself confined in a room. He just remembered that the padlock was still hanging on the door. He tried to open the door, but in vain! Now the same event as in the warehouse seems to be repeated. He was locked in space once again!

Sayup-sayup heard a voice that laughed at his stupidity,” Next time play smart, Cornellio. Goodbye and may you rot in there!”

***

Mariah opened her eyes slowly, finding herself bound with her hands chained to the wall. His feet were also tied to the rope. He looked like a prisoner ready to be tortured. Fear is attacking. He understood that this room was clearly under the castle. He rarely went to his uncle's house, but had heard glimpses of the rooms in this castle.

There was no one around, until a black-robed figure approached Mariah while on his back.

“Welcome to my residence, cousin!” said the cloaked figure.

“Sepupu? What do you mean?”

“Because you are the daughter of Anggara Laksono's sister, then I deserve to call you a cousin. Because actually I am the son of Anggara Laksono who disappeared decades ago, and now returns to demand revenge!” say that figure.

“I don't understand that uncle has children!”

“That's because your stupid uncle, or rather my evil father never admitted me as a child, even dumped into a parlour. Then he dumped my mother in this dark room for years. Now I've come to pick him up, to help him from all his troubles by taking out whoever is here. The same thing your cruel uncle did!” bright black-robed figure.

“You ... You're Aunt Anastasia's son?”

“Aunt Anastasia? Haha. Certainly not my cousin, dear. Anastasia Pratiwi is a foolish woman who is easily persuaded by the seduction of Anggara Laksono. I am the son of Anjani!”

“Abi Anjani? I've never heard that name!”

“Of course not because Anggara kept it a secret! But know, she is the legitimate wife of Anggara Laksono who inherited the entire castle and its contents. And I am the rightful heir! This was kept secret for years by the old man. Now it's time for me to make a calculation with him, and reclaim the rights taken from my mother's hands!”

“I ... I don't understand at all. I don't think I've ever had a cousin of a murderer like you. It must be all because of your madness! What you did was something insane. Realize it!” persuade Mariah.

Suddenly the figure came closer towards Mariah.

Plaaac!

A slap landed on Mariah's cheek.

“Don't try to affect my mind, cousin! I control everything here. Not yourself! Just so you know, maybe your beloved husband Ammar has died in a terrible car accident. I've sabotaged all the car brakes that are here, so no one can wear them. We'll all rot here, I don't care!”

“Ammar? What did you do to him?” mariah said with a trembling voice. The parasites are anxious, afraid that bad things will happen to everything.

“I got rid of him from this castle, Mariah! You don't need to cry. I think he's either dead under that ravine or smashed into a cliff. So you better not expect her again!”

“Tidaaak! You must be lying! Dare not touch my husband!”

“oya? Then what do you want? Kill me! Do it when you can!” The figure grinned.

Mariah could not hold back tears. Shown in his mind, the face of the husband who groaned in pain due to an accident. He just sniffled, couldn't do anything.

“Your turn is coming, Mariah! Just wait!”
