CHAPTER 10: HOPE FOR A NEW FRIEND

Coleman's Residence

"Dear brother, look at this news." Both of his siblings are in Anna's room, Aaron puts his head on Anna's lap while reading an article about the recent scandal on his phone.

"Oh? What'sthat?" Aaron let Anna take his phone. While reading the article, a mischievous grin appeared on Anna's lips and it did not escape Aaron's gaze.

"You know, we can do so many naughty things if you show this side of yourself to me early." Anna turned her gaze to Aaron whose head was on his lap, her eyes showing sadness. She was supposed to spend her time with her brother instead, she wasted nine years of her time spending it with her fake friend Rebecca.

"Well, it's never too late to do things like that, right?" Aaron didn't think Anna would just agree. She had always wanted to spend more time with her sister, but Rebecca always got in her way because that was why she hated Rebecca.

What happened last night at the party made her hate Rebecca even more, she dared to sedate her twin brother. Now that Rebecca crossed the line she would make Rebecca regret doing that.

"You're right, it's never too late to do those things." She said in a soft voice, she can't wait to bond with her sister. In his sixteen years of existence, this would be the first time he and his sister had a moment like this together.

While the two siblings were talking to each other, their mother noticed the two of them interacting with each other. His heart softened at the perfect harmony between the two of them. She was worried that her children would grow up distancing themselves from each other, but now that she saw this, her worries faded away.

The twins did not pay attention to their mother and her mother only watched them gently. Just looking at the two of them made her cry.

Aaron and Anna heard that sobbing sound and looked at him, they saw their mother crying and it made them both panic. Aaron suddenly gets up and accidentally hits Anna's chin. Both Anna and Aaron were in a lot of pain. Anna curses her brother on his head for hitting his chin and Aaron also curses his sister on his head for letting his chin get in the way.

"Argh. I can't believe you have such a sharp chin, Anna." Aaron groaned in pain and held his forehead.

"And I can't believe there's such a thick skull in your head." Anna also groaned in pain and held her chin, then turned her attention to their mother. "Mom, are you okay? Is something wrong?"

Mary laughed when she saw her children groaning in pain. "Mom's fine." She said and approached her twins then hugged the two of them tightly.

"Can't breathe mom!" exclaim Anna.

"Oh I'm sorry mom!" Aaron simply rolled his eyeballs as his mother let go and let the two of them take a breath.

"It's nice to see you two having fun. What change?" It was only natural that Mary was curious about her two precious treasures because Aaron and Anna did not interact much at that time. This sudden interaction that made her cry was something she wanted to know.

"Now that Rebecca came off the list to be my friend, I decided to spend more time with my twin sister. Ever since I became friends with Rebecca, I've spent less time with my twin here." A glint of fury flashed in Mary's eyes upon hearing her daughter's words.

He lets Rabecca approach his precious daughter, he blames himself for letting such a person befriend his daughter. She regrets not listening to her best friend Alfonso about Rebecca, Alfonso had warned her two years ago about Rebecca but she did not listen and let Rebecca befriend Anna which resulted in Anna being almost drugged.

Mary never really wanted to use her power in the business world to destroy someone, but Rebecca had just encouraged her to do so. Now, he hires someone to investigate Rebecca's father who is currently working at his company he wants to know if Rebecca's father is up to something, he doesn't want other leeches crawling near his family, he had to destroy them by any means necessary.

"Don't worry brother, even though you don't have one friend other than me right now, I'm sure you can find someone who becomes a much better friend who won't betray you!" Anna only smiled at her brother's sentence, she desperately hoped to find someone she could trust, someone she could freely reveal her secret. "School's close, maybe you can find someone."

His sister was right, school was close, his first year of being a high school student maybe he could find someone there one or two people was enough for him as long as they did not betray his trust.

Anna suddenly remembers all the events that happened to her in High School in her past life. She remembers that she and Rebecca were in the same class, even in her High School days Rebecca was the only one she had. There were a lot of bad rumors about him circulating throughout the school and making it difficult to make friends with others, they avoided him like he was the plague.
