CHAPTER 31: YOUTH DAY (3)

"Son, meet Mary Adams. From today until the next 5 months, he will help you with your training." Zack looked at the woman who was going to help him in his training, he was completely speechless. The woman he was trying to find had appeared before him.

"Mary Adams." He said in a low voice and then the initials MA suddenly ringed in his head. Zack pointed his index finger at Mary with a surprised face. "You... You're MA?!" Mary felt funny looking at her expression from the beginning until now. He showed so many expressions that he could not express himself freely.

Zack's father tilted his head in confusion, "MA? You two know each other?" He asked Mary.

"Yes. I've met her in the hospital and I also sent her a gift as a thank you for her help" Mary said politely to Zack's father who really surprised her. As far as she knew Mary was not someone who would respect an older person who was easily for her everyone was her enemy and it was hard to gain her trust. She observes how Mary looks towards her son, she seems attracted to him but not in a romantic way.

She was somewhat frightened by the way she looked at her son, it seemed like his son would be Mary's new toy to play with. 'Forgive me son. You only need to last for 5 months until then, good luck.'

Mary did come from an ordinary family with no power whatsoever towards people like them, but Mary was someone who could not just mess around. He has kept other gangs from showing themselves, he made sure that they would not cause any problems with the government. Zack's father does a background check to find out who thinks it is a skill he has now, but he can't find anything more like nothing and he learns it himself.

One of the reasons Zack's father didn't want to mess with him rashly was because of the other gang he controlled. If by chance the government really interferes with his business, he can turn those gangs around to destabilize the government and the government will have a hard time dealing with it and his tactics are hard to predict. The second reason was that Mary saved her life when some*******hit ambushed her and to repay that debt, the least she could do was help her when she needed her help.

When Mary calls him, she hopes that he will ask her to pay him back for saving her life, but that is not the case and the opposite of her anticipation. He would help her again by asking that she wanted to help her son in his training. In his mind this was not in Mary's favor at all, this request only benefited her and her son. At first, she did not understand why, but now she felt very bad for her own son.

While Zack's father has some deep thoughts, Zack himself is thrilled to meet the man who sent the gun to him. MA and Mary Adams were so clear yet she could not point her finger at him, at the moment she felt so stupid of herself. He got so many questions for him like how did he get such an incredible weapon? What is his true identity? And there were many more questions popping up in his mind.

Zack asked the question he had been holding and was quite surprised to hear his answer and at the same time idolized it. He learns that he is the leader of a particular gang and controls most of the gang and keeps them behaving. She tells Zack about the incident at the hospital, she tells him that the man in black suits is after her because he was caught posing as a spy at their headquarters, Zack is surprised by that, 'How skilled is he?' He asked in his mind but did not say it out loud. Zack also finds out about how he got a gun for her, she says that she has a lot of strong connections on the black market and it's just easy for her to get one and it's not a big deal for her.

After getting an answer from him and continuing the next day they started their training. It was hellish training for her, Mary did not let her rest until the break time came. He made him carry heavy items for his muscles and also he taught him taekwondo, aikido, karate and many more types of martial arts in just a month. Everything he taught was exhausting for his body and he also teased him whenever the opportunity arose.

Recalling his past difficulties, Zack sighed deeply and Zen noticed that his father was depressed. "Dad?" Hearing his son's voice, he looked at Zen and smiled bitterly. "Is something wrong?" ask Zen.

"No, it's just that I suddenly remembered the hellish training I had gone through." He said and looked at Mary's worried face.

This was the second time he had seen her worried face. The first time she saw him was when Mary's husband suddenly disappeared 11 years ago. It was still shocking for him to see her like that, after all he rarely showed his emotions to others.

"It's a coincidence to see you here of all places, Mary." She said. Mary looked at the man who had just called her name. To his surprise, he sees his old friend, Zack whom he played too often in their youth. He looked at his grinning face, he still looked as handsome as before as if time had stopped for him.

Realizing what he meant by that, he also grinned at her. "Good God, I didn't expect to meet here either."
