CHAPTER 79: GETTING CAUGHT BY HIM

"What are you doing?"

Anna was startled by the sudden voice behind her and afraid that the person would see what she was doing at the moment, Anna immediately closed her laptop and faced the person nervously.

Seeing the person in front of him was Kyle, he heaved a sigh of relief. Fortunately not his uncle Fonso or certainly his uncle Fonso will tell his mother what he did in the middle of the night. And once her mother knows what she's doing, her mother might interfere in this case she's focused on. Anna does not want anyone to interfere in the case until she is convinced that the case is serious enough to tell anyone.

Seeing Anna just staring at him and not saying anything, Kyle repeated his question; "What are you doing?"

Anna realized from her worries and calmly answered Kyle's question, "I've just been working on PR. I forgot to do it and the deadline is tomorrow so I'm staying up." Kyle simply nodded in response and Anna again heaved a sigh of relief, 'Thank God he believed the lie.'

Kyle might look like he trusted Anna's words, but in truth, he didn't believe a single word Anna said. While Anna was talking, Kyle looked straight into her eyes and he saw Anna was nervous about something or rather she was nervous because someone else knew what she was doing late tonight.

Like a curious cat, Kyle slowly stepped towards the empty spot beside Anna. As soon as he reached the place, he sat down next to her; Anna was confused and annoyed by his actions, why was she sitting next to him? If Kyle was going to be with him for a long time, he couldn't finish the job he wanted. Anna wanted to immediately find the stranger; there must have been some kind of motive why the stranger showed himself to Elina and why sent her a message as she tried to hack some information about him. He couldn't find the answer he wanted if Kyle would accompany him.

While Anna was in a state of confusion, Kyle quickly took her laptop and opened it. Anna is shocked and immediately wants to snatch her laptop from him, but Kyle can stop her from snatching the laptop from him with just one hand while the other hand fiddles with her laptop.

Anna cursed in her mind, 'Why didn't I enter the password on that damn laptop!'. Kyle managed to see everything he opened and his forehead wrinkled as he watched the security camera video clip. He saw a familiar woman and a man talking to each other.

Now that I've come to this, Anna reluctantly answers her question, "Yes. So there's no point in asking me. Now, can you give me my laptop back?" Anna is quite worried Kyle will drop her laptop and it might get damaged. He was not worried that the information on the laptop would be lost because he could always recover it; he was worried because the laptop was given by Josh's father. It was the only kind and the only one in the world, it was made personally for him. If the laptop breaks down, he doesn't know how to deal with his uncle Mike in the future.

Kyle did not listen to him instead putting his laptop further away from him. After doing that, he held onto Anna's shoulder using both of his hands and made her face towards him properly. He had a lot of questions about what he had just seen from his laptop.

"Why are you stalking Uncle Alfonso's assistant? What's your motive?" Kyle's voice was serious and at the same time, it was frightening to hear. It seems like the rumors from Anna's past life are true, whenever Kyle Robertson is serious, he can also be so scary that others are unwilling to deal with him whenever he is serious.

Kyle didn't want to doubt Anna because he felt it wouldn't be good for him. It would all depend on what kind of answer Anna would answer to her question. If the answer had a pure reason then the doubt in his mind would probably disappear, and if it did not... He doesn't even want to think about it.

"Ck! Do you really think that every woman has a motive for everyone?! I don't have any motive for Uncle Fonso, he's like family to me! I want what's best for her, I'm doing this for her! Just like what I said before in the hospital, never! Compare me to people like that!" For the first time in such a long time, Anna was furious at the person who was holding her shoulders so tightly. From time to time Anna grimaced at the pain she gave her.

As for Kyle, this was the first time he had experienced someone yelling at him with full fury in his eyes. Of course his family yelled at him from time to time, but when Anna yelled at him angrily, it felt very different and knowing that he was angry at her did not make him feel good inside.

This was the second time he had asked her about her true motive and this was also the second time he had looked at her angrily. He felt guilty now, he could actually see that he was telling the truth; whatever was inside his laptop was all for the well-being of his uncle Alfonso. There is no other motive than that.

Kyle wanted to say he was sorry to have accused him but he immediately stood up, took his laptop, and went to his room stomping his feet like an angry little boy. Kyle is left alone in a quiet living room, feeling guilty for what he has done to the person who wants the best for his loved ones.
