CHAPTER 43: RUMORS BEGIN

Two days had passed and for the most part, the preparation for the school event went smoothly. Anna was quite busy as she and her brother were in charge of decorating their booth. Unfortunately, his brother had slackened in his duties. He helped a little and then slipped away to practice in their university team game for the event as well.

From time to time she wonders why her brother even voluntarily became part of her team for the booth. It was not only her brother who gave her a headache, the people who were on her team also had headaches.

Most of the men on his team were women and there were only 3 men doing weight lifting. Men are not a problem for Anna, but women. They are too picky for decorations and decorations for their booth not even halfway. "I don't like this design? Change it." One of them said.

"Are you blind or what? This design is exotic! It's perfect for our theme!" The other said angrily as he held a piece of tablecloth in his hand and showed it to the complaining girl.

"You are the blind! Our theme is 'Maid and Butler Cafe' which should be elegant and not a wild animal theme!"

Anna only sighed when she saw the two girls arguing, but she had to agree with the other girls. Their theme was supposed to be elegant but this other girl had different interpretations for the theme. Every decoration he showed them was very exotic and reflected wild animals in nature and he currently held a tablecloth with orange and black stripes of tigers.

"Whoa, he must be really fond of wild animals." He said in a low voice but the 3 men beside him heard him and only laughed a little.

"I agree. Although I myself am a man, I think elegance is more suited to our theme." As she said this, Anna and the other men agreed except for the other man who was on Anna's left side. "What?! No way! The decorations are cooler than anything you call that!"

As Anna and the three men were talking and laughing together, the bickering girls turned their attention towards Anna. The irritation burns inside them, they feel like Anna has attracted a lot of attention from the people in their class and they don't like it.

"Curtain! Look her! Who told him to lead our team if he just wanted to flirt?"

"He's a bitch! She's acting like the perfect little girl!"

Rebecca who was just passing by overheard the conversation of the girls and an idea came to her mind. 'Hmph! You embarrassed me yourself the other day, Anna this time I will return the favor by making our classmates hate you!'

"She's not like that" Rebecca said pretending to be angry at the two girls.

The two girls looked at Rebecca with uninterested expressions on their faces. To them, Rebecca was just a passerby and she would never be in the same league. It would be a waste of time to talk to her, but hearing Anna's defense made them curious.

"Yet before..." Rebecca lowered her head before continuing in a low voice, "but now..." The two girls heard him and observed his expression closely; since Rebecca was so good at acting like a victim, she made her expression more realistic. "Well, by the way! He's like that! Never was!"

Rebecca turned around with a grin on her face and went to her place leaving the two girls to come to the conclusion that Anna was not a good friend, leaving her friend but the friend was still defending her. "Anna Coleman is a fake! Although I don't like Rebecca because she's not in the same league as us, that doesn't mean we'll ignore this. We need to get justice for Rebecca, don't we?"

"I agree."

Deep down, the true intention of the two girls was to destroy Anna because they didn't like her in the slightest. They doubted Rebecca's words that she and Anna were close friends back then, but an opportunity like this to destroy Anna didn't come often, they better not waste it.

Anna was so happy that the girls finally made the decision to decorate in their booth, they ended up choosing an elegant theme.

"Anna, what's wrong with your face? You look really upset." Nathalia asked while drinking her water bottle.

"Rumors are starting to tarnish my name."

Nathalia looked around and saw their classmates muttering to each other while looking towards them. "What kind of rumors?" She asked.

"That I was a whore and made friends with Rebecca and left her after I started high school, in other words they made her look like I was a bad person." Anna rolled her eyes while looking at her stupid classmates who easily judged her without proof.

"Hmmm... Do you know who started this?" Natalia doesn't like flies that spread false rumors. If someone says something that is not true, he will pay for it double and he will do the same for his friend.

Since Nathalia is good at hacking, she can easily get into someone's files and she can easily expose them without hesitation if they provoke her.

"I don't know who started that rumor, but I know who the main core is," Anna said with a grim expression on her face.
